Such a cute, comfortable and uplifting environment. The food is inexpensive, tasty, casual with an air of excellence. The seating is limited so it is best to eat at pre peak meal times. Items are prepared in advance. If you have a particular allergy be sure to let them know. I was determined to find something I would enjoy. I found the ham quiche. Loaded with ham and to my surprise a fresh salad with dressing. It was plenty of food and only $ 10. See photo. The service was fast and friendly. They were eager to accommodate my special dietary needs. They were also knowledgeable regarding the contents of the menu choices. I highly recommend this café when you visit the museum.

Yes I do hope more museums have cafes like this one. Sandwiches are great, coffee too. I do hope they have more variety.

Great Café to stop at while you are visiting the City Museum for New York. I stopped to rest my legs and have a beverage but I did get a rumble in my tummy as I watched several patrons enjoy some lovely looking sandwiches and freshly prepared(not pre packaged) salads. The car also sells wine and a couple of locally Brewed beers. I enjoyed a lovely cup of mint infused iced tea and my friend enjoyed a carrot ginger iced tea, an interesting combination but a bit to strong for my taste. It was a bit pricey at $ 4.00 but I was thirsty and it hit the spot. The café also offers plenty of indoor seating options to enjoy your meal or beverage and my favorite part… people watch.

This affordable museum café on the 2nd floor has a wide variety of sandwiches for under 9 dollars plus fruit and snacks and beverages that won’t break the bank. I wish all museum cafes were like this one!
