I went in for a haircut for my 7yr old daughter, just the ends — no styling or anything. They took her right away — without an apt. which was a plus and since it was a very simple cut it was very quick — it all took about 10 – 15 minutes. The stylist who cut her hair quoted me $ 25, but then a lady came to ring me up and charged me $ 35, when I asked her why the difference she said I was wrong and that was the price. I don’t mind paying this for a haircut, I do mind the clear attitude I was given in order to make a quick buck. It’s unfortunate because the stylist who cut my daughter’s hair was great and charming, but I will not return to this place on principle.

I came here for the first time this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I made a last minute appointment on a Saturday afternoon and the highlights came out really nicely. They stylist was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere seemed very cozy. Others have commented that the salon is relatively inexpensive, but I found the prices to be comparable to other UES salons. I will return and I’d recommend this place to friends.

First thing is first. I have had the same hair stylist for 9 yrs so when he said he is moving back to Pakistan I was devastated. I walk by this salon everyday on my way to work. I was fed up by how long and lifeless my hair was starting to look so took a chance and walked in. I was greeted immediately with a smile and seated for a wash in less than a minute. Even the shampoo girl (is that their name?) was sweet. The head stylist (forgot her name but she is Dominican) was patient with me as I tried to emphasize on keeping the length. She even suggested few layers and gave it a go and I am in LOVE with how my hair looks. Think I finally found my new salon.

I would have given this place at least 4 stars if all the employees who worked there were professional and if they stuck to the quoted price they told me when I got there. Celena did my hair today and she was very nice but when she said that she wanted to just trim off the ends I asked her how much and she never said it would be an additional $ 35! I actually thought she said it would be included… anyway literally all she did was take out some stray strands which I felt like I could have done on my own. Celena even asked the other stylist should it just be $ 65 (which sounded reasonable given how before I could even agree to the trim she already had scissors to my hair). This other woman insisted that it should cost the additional $ 35. What bothered me most was that same lady had actually been pretty rude in something she said to me earlier and then she was being almost hostile when demanding I pay the extra $ 35. Honestly the blow out was okay, the owner seems nice but the rudeness of that lady just got to me. I want to go back but I am actually a little afraid of her. She just was nasty, rude and inappropriate.

Amanda is my hairstylest and she always goes above and beyond. I wouldn’t let anyone else in NYC touch my hair. I have paid several ppl in the past to color my hair red and they always seem to get the wrong shade. Amanda was able to achieve the perfect red on my first visit. The rest of the staff at this salon are also super nice and accommodating. Highly recommend this salon to anyone.

You may have loved the past owner; but you may love the new owner even better she’s an artist very creative when it comes to your hair she’ll let you know what to do with your hair before you’ll decide for your own. Her employee Ala she has amazing skills if you love volume hair that’s the person to go to she has this skill that will blow your mind she’s very dedicated to her work. Amanda young and vibrant wonderful hair stylist will recommend her if you like to feel young and vibrant.

(This is from the wife)…Amanda is an amazing hairdresser/​stylist/​colorist. She pays close attention to detail and does only what you tell her to! She happily has fixed my hair when it has been messed up in past salons. She is really passionate about making sure her client is happy, and i have gone to her 3 times already in the past 6 months, and have been very happy each time. Must say though that after seeing the results of people who walk out of the salon with other stylists, everyone seems to be doing a great job. other positives include the cleanliness of the salon and friendliness of the staff. highly recommend!

Made an apt went to the salon. Sit there until someone finally asks my name. Then the girl makes a face and says «oh I’m sorry the girl that was going to do your hair called in sick today» I asked why no one had called me to tell me and she replied they didn’t have my phone #. Very poorly run of you ask me when booking a client you should take there # exactly for situations like this. I was very disappointed and will not go back Im not giving them my money.

I’ve been coming here since it was called Angel’s Unisex. I have to say that with the new owners it is even better than before. To be an Upper East Side salon the prices are very reasonable and I love love LOVE the improvements after the renovation. The seats, the mirrors, everything makes you feel like a million bucks. I have had my hair done with Raymond who is fabulous and Wendy who can wash and blow dry my full head of very long curly hair in 45 minutes. I know that I can count on this place for a last minute lunch time miracle

I live in the neighborhood and i used to go there only for convenience. After i discovered Wendy, I would not change my hairdresser for anything in the world. She is great with my long and difficult hair! For the first time I am happy with my highlights, my haircut and she is also a good stylist for men’s hair… and a beautiful person. I highly recommend this place!

Just had my hair cut here this morning with Alina, who was excellent! She paid amazing attention to detail and the cut and blow-​out were the best I have had in many many years. The space is small and it’s a very no-​nonsense kind of atmosphere, hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. Everyone there was very friendly. My experience there and the result and value is 5 stars all the way. I’ve never had someone actually ask me how I wanted my hair blown out after a cut; it was very refreshing not to be at the mercy of someone else’s aesthetic! I paid $ 50+tax for the cut and blow out. Alina is wonderful; I’ll definitely be going back.

I LOVE this new salon. I just got my hair colored and cut. And it was an awesome experience with awesome results! I have very long and coarse hair– and it can be quite difficult… But a lovely woman by the name of Wendy did a fabulous job. Oh and the prices are GREAT! Highly recommend!

Wow, what a beautiful step up from the old salon that was here (which i loved so much, and held close to my heart)
It’s so retro and chic, I just love the renovations that they did! Their vanities are really classy and I feel like a princess here. I love the whole setup, if I had my own salon, I would want it to look like this, really, it’s gorgeous.
I continue to get my hair cut by Agatha, who I love to death, she is the best stylist I’ve ever had, she does exactly what i envision in my hair. She cuts fabulously, and styles exactly how I want.
I don’t know if they are new owner with the name being changed from Angel’s I think that it is new. They are a little bit more expensive that the old salon, but they need to pay off all the changes made in the salon lol. I think it would be funny if they brought in a new partner name Charles (hence the new name), and called the salon Charlie’s Angels, then it would compromise for both titles. Sorry, getting carried away here, just kidding.
Even with new owners, I will continue to be a loyal customer here, love that location and everything about it!
