Been coming here for 6 years now, and the same lady has been cutting my hair. It’s 11 dollars for a men’s haircut and wash, well worth it. This place is a Chinatown establishment, my friends mom used to get her haircut here! Place is pretty quiet during the week but gets hectic on weekend afternoons.

On a street littered with barber shops and beauty salons I’ve discovered the haircut is a commodity here and for guys it’s usually just a measly $ 8! Can’t beat it. Add a few bucks for a shampoo and a nice one minute head massage. Problem is most stylists at any of these places don’t speak English very well so unless you’re getting something complicated and need to explain in detail what you need, seek out other options. The other option is seek out the stylist that speaks English and you’re set assuming he/she cuts well. Ling here speaks good English and is very reliable. But like a lot of stylists they tend to bounce from shop to shop.

This is a classy place to get your hair cut and styled. Located on the legendary Doyers Street, this salon is bigger and cleaner than your average Chinatown barber shop. Highly reccomended

Been here when I was 5 years old, never failed me once. They used to give me Blow pops all time after each haircut. 15 years later they said they still do it till this day! They know how to cut a comb over perfectly and also have their own home brew pomade! The price was 11 dollars for a cut and wash, wayy better than those Dominican places in Harlem or in Frank’s Chop Shop that cost 30 dollars for the same haircut but with hair on your neck. FYI they also do the hairline with a razor.

Who the F is this Sarah P beyotch that beat me to the first review? Wait, lemme see if she’s really cute and I should add her. Nope. J.k. Not here for that. Altho it looks like she has tats(tattoos), that’s pretty cool. Ok, now where was I? This is a super basic old school Chinese barber shop. Hair cut for men is $ 8(no shampoo). Now, my guy is good. But I will not give you his name. I do not want to elevate him out of the poverty he is in so that he can continue to provide me with cheap haircuts and be wowed by my $ 2 tip(that’s a 25% POST-tax tip mind u). I sent a friend there without a name, and he got his hair butchered. So, take your chances. Use common sense — don’t get the guy who’s been sitting there all day long waiting, dying for someone to ask him to cut his/her hair. You’ll be out in 5 minutes. No frills. No barbisol — that’s gross — frankly, I wanna tell him to stop using the switch razor on my neck, but it’s been years, so awkward. Like if a girl’s been fiddlin with your dartos all these years, thinks you like it, then have to break it to em that you were uncomfortable all along. Good for a standard«Asian» buzz haircut. They speak little to no English — so expect to use weird hand motions and wear your contacts(no glasses), lest u wake up and your hair is butchered.

Not very stylish but the salon is clean and the stylists are welcoming. It has been 5 months and the color never faded. My hair stays jet black without the dye damage… I’m very happy with the quality, service and price. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again!
