I have never written a review for Unilocal in my life. Unilocal has never been so wrong about a restaurant. We were led into this place based on Unilocal review. We were given a single slice of bread and had to ask for more. We had a rude waiter. I’ve had better Italian food at local pizza joint than this. A Caesar salad for $ 15 had soggy croutons from the moment it was syrup. My wife salad and a tomato which was soaked through and looks rotten. The pasta was mediocre at best. All that for a $ 70 bill. Won’t come back to this place ever again. It is also very expensive and Unilocal only has it at two $$. What a misfire!

We had dinner at Come Prima on June 1st. This was a special birthday celebration and Salvatore and his team did not disappoint. From the moment we walked through the door we were treated like family by everyone. Sal is a true professional and this rubs off on all of his staff. The food was delicious and the wine and after-dinner drinks superbly matched each our of dishes. I will be back at Come Prima the next time I get to NYC. Merci Sal !

We came into the restaurant expecting a great meal, considering the rave reviews it received. Unfortunately, we had an extremely disappointing experience. The service during lunch was slow and the waiter seemed nonchalant, verging on rude. The food was mediocre. Our pasta took ages to arrive and when it did, it was under cooked. We would have gotten a greater satisfaction eating from a food truck or the salad bar at Wholefoods. Not coming back for sure.

I’ve been a fan of Campagnola for many years and finally got over to visit Sal at his new restaurant. Sal makes everybody feel at home and always delivers high quality service and food with a smile. Come Prima has a great wine list and we started with a nice Merlot from Duckhorn. After a tasty Cesar salad, I went for the Spaghetti di Grangnano Allo Scoglio. With fresh clams, shrimp and seafood, this really hit the spot. For dessert I chose their special Napoleon with strawberries and it was amazing. Look forward to returning soon to try more of the menu!

Absolute wonderful! It is like being on vacation in Italy and discovering a restaurant that you love and will remember. The food was delicious, the staff welcoming and fun, and a great wine list. The red wines are actually served at the proper temperature. What’s not to love?

It’s been a longtime since we «walked into a restaurant» for dinner. We were welcomed as if we we ‘regulars’. The meals(Tuna tartar, Chilean Seabass & bolognese) were great. Topped off with the Pear Ricotta tart… Coffee … Great meal, great owner Salvatore …

Fabulous, fantastic and phenomenal! Food, staff, atmosphere… Top notch. Friendly, professional, accommodating. We had salads and pasta, homemade bread but everything on the menu looked divine. This is a new, upscale Italian restaurant, so make sure you try it.

Been there twice recently both times the food was really delicious and well prepared but even better is the service. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. One visit was for lunch the other dinner. There was consistency between both occasions. One was busy the other was slow and lightly staffed

Fantastic food, authentic Italian. Atmosphere is amazing and as most reviews already pointed out, Salvatore(owner) goes out of his way to ensure everyone is loving the food and wine. Great dessert menu. Highly recommend it.

Reconnected with Salvatore Lombardi at his new, wonderful Upper East Side restaurant. It is a beautiful space. Bright and sophisticated. Salvatore could not be a more gracious host. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food is marvelous. The wine list is terrific with some fabulous Italian gems. Make your way uptown to this new Italian ristorante, you will make it a new standard. And be sure to say hello to Salvatore. My new go to place.

I came here for dinner to celebrate my birthday — superb service, delicious dishes and amazing experience all around. Very classic black and white décor. We were greeted at the entrance to check our coats and told to choose any open table in the house. It was a very warm and genuine greeting. They even offered to put my flowers in a cool place or in a vase while I enjoyed my meal — I declined but it was a nice gesture. We started with the caesar salad and salmon stuffed calamari with beef carpaccio. The calamari was fresh, plump, and not too thick. The salmon seemed to be chopped with herbs and generously stuffed into the calamari. Of course the beets added a kind of sweetness to the dish and made the richness of the calamari and salmon a bit more subtle. The caesar salad complemented the calamari as well. Great start to the meal. I ordered the veal chop(medium) with roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe. It was huge! Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I was very satisfied. My table also ordered the prime rib and branzino. The prime rib simply melted in your mouth and the waiter kindly filleted the branzino. Both delicious. We were all full at this point but the dessert menu was so tempting. We ordered the napoleon and the crème brûlée. Perfect way to end the meal. There was too much cream in the napoleon for me but the mixed berries were nice to dip into the cream that fell out of the puff pastry. I will be back! This is a great restaurant to celebrate occasions or just enjoy a delectable meal with exceptional service. High quality dining without a stuffy atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my dinner there. The ambiance is nice not too loud and our table was right in front of the window overlooking Madison Ave. The staff was very polite and prompt. I ordered gnudi in a butter and sage sauce and they were delicious. Second course I had the costata with Arugola and Parmesan shaves, cooked medium. It was tender and flavorful and happy it was actually medium cooked and nor medium rare like I get often to my disappointment. For dessert I had coffee crem brulee OMG!!! Amazing!!! Wine was perfect and served in beautiful stem glasses. Glad I tried it … I lol go back again for sure

This is a real«authentic Italian» establishment., walked by a few times before official opening and Salvatore invited us in for a sneak peak, I made dinner reservations for later the fallowing week. From the moment you walk in you are greeted as you are part of the family. Enjoyed the entire culinary experience. The menu is well thought out and every dish we ordered was superb. Service was top notch ask for Loreto. I highly recommend it before the wait list fills up.
