Dahlia’s Fine Mexican Cuisine

This place is known for serving young teenagers. Don’t support them. It’s an extremely irresponsible practice.

This food is not good at all. The atmosphere and décor is terriable. It was very cheap tho. Only paid $ 14 including tip. But i left still hungry, had to pick up mcdonalds once i got back to my house. Considering the large amount of resturants in new york city i dont suggest you come here. If you are looking for cheap food you may even prefer chipotle. I do love yellow rice and was happy they offered to sub my beans in for an extra yellow rice for free. But the yellow rice was kinda cold anyways.

Food was nothing special, more on the gross side. It is also kind of uncomfortable having children (literally no older than 14) getting drunk in all the surrounding booths. Definitely won’t be back.

I came here with my friends for dinner but I’ve been here multiple times & it is always mediocre.
Last time I came, the waitress was sitting in a booth in the back of the restaurant texting while we were trying to get her attention so we could get our check. She charged us 20% gratuity, I am a waitress in the city & it is illegal to add gratuity to parties that small. There was only three of us. We didn’t say anything because either way we would have tipped the 20%, even though it was not well deserved, makes me not want to return here.

Pros: cops who busted the bar for underage drinking were hot
Double headed monster was good
Awesome music and fun atmosphere!
Cons:Overpriced

rude service… only pays attention if you continue to buy their expensive drinks… dirty bathroom and it concerns me how the sanitation grade is still pending.

Came here for lunch on a Monday. Place was pretty empty. I ordered the pollo Laredo which was pretty good. My friend got a quesadilla. Food was alright. Nothing amazing. Good prices I would say for Manhattan. Service was a little slow but otherwise not too bad.

Fabulous staff, fabulous drinks. Cute neighborhood. I haven’t gone here to eat yet but the food looks pretty good. I recommend!

I was going to go to the bar across the street, however it was too crowded so myself and a few friends decided to eat here. The food was nasty, and very unauthentic. The salsa tasted like it came out of a can. We ordered the chili con queso and I am 99% sure it is the same nacho cheese you get at Sam’s Club. The quesadilla was inferior to Taco Bell. The burritos were on the small end and somehow the meat was a bit cold. Your tables first serving of chips and salsa is free, however it is 3.99 for each serving after that. I give out very few 1 star reviews, however this place is deserving of it.

Hard taco were soft af and not upto mark. Rice and beans were weird and tasteless. Overall won’t return

Dahlia sits in the same spot that was once Mary Ann’s, a long time Mexican establishment in the neighborhood. Although the interior hasn’t changed much and the menu looks similar, I do remember this place tasting better.
The free chips and salsa to start is still there and always appreciated. Unfortunately the steak fajitas entrée I ordered fell short of my expectations. First, the server confused my plate of sauces (guac, salsa, sour cream, etc.) by placing it with my guest. He naturally thought it came with his plate so he started eating off it. When I asked where my guac was, the server pointed out that the misplaced plate was meant for me. I was waiting for them to bring out another plate for their mistake but they didn’t. Fortunately I’m close with my guest so I didn’t mind sharing it but if I was with more of an acquaintance, this may raise some concerns. The steak was disappointingly tough even at a medium rare request. Pretty much the meal and service went downhill after the chips.
I will miss what this place once was. Now according to my credit card statement this place is either owned, associated with, or uses a credit payment processor with a Chinese restaurant in California. Random.

This was the worst dining experience that I have had in NYC. The service is horrible. The waiter does not seem to care at all about the customers. We had to bother them so many times just to get the check. And on top of that, they automatically charged us 20% tip for some reason when there were only two of us. I would never ever ever come here again.

Polite staff, good drinks, great food, amazing music. It’s crowded and loud, but in an intimate way. The people who go to Dahlia’s are usually friendly and chill, and the infomercials playing on the screens are actually really amusing. Good place to go if you want to hang out and have fun with friends and strangers.

My last review was pretty positive because I came earlier in the night, but if you come late… Oh boy.
We were lucky enough to get a booth however we had to slide all the way in to the wall as people butts were rubbing all over our table. Full of drunk kids (really they looked and acted quite young)! Despite this, service was rather friendly and prompt. We didn’t get free chips though!
The bathroom… Pretty much a traumatizing experience. The staff pointed me towards the men’s room since the women’s was out of order and my god, I’ve been to gas stops, campgrounds, bourbon street, beach restrooms, port-​a-​potties and this was the worst thing I’ve ever seen. The toilet was clogged, water EVERYWHERE and a concoction of bodily fluids all over the toilet seat. I couldn’t even stand to use the mirror and scurried on out of there.
Anyways, I’ll stop here for a late night drink, but I’d only come here as a last resort!

Good place to break up with a girl since the staff ignores you. But they get a star for making fun of the customers in Spanish. I guess I’m looking gringo now cuz they didn’t think I’d understand.

Great food, bottomless chips, and service like I have rarely seen.
This place is all around a great destination for fresh Mexican cuisine with generous portions and fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients. If they are busy and you have to wait for the kitchen, I strongly advise you to wait. The food is worth the wait!

I would give Dahlia’s 5 stars based on my first visit there; I just went for my second. The second visit wasn’t as incredible as the first, but I really like something about this place so I’ll just give five.
The first time I went there, we got a pitcher of margaritas and I got the chile relleno with rice and beans. I should have just gotten it again because it was SO comforting and SO tasty. This most recent time I got a tostada salad instead, so I think a) I didn’t want a salad but was trying to be healthy b) the quality and taste of the tostada shell could be improved. It had a strange taste and kind of cardboard-​like texture. Everything else about the salad was great.
Dahlia’s is good about giving you free chips, bless them. They are good people.
It’s easy enough to get service from one of the 5 people running around. We sat where they all gather by the register, so it was hard to tell who our server was but we didn’t care and they didn’t seem to mind helping us, so it worked out.

Average food, subpar service. We went on a really dead Saturday afternoon, it took us a while to get our order. My food came out first, my friends food came out 15 minutes later. Then when we finished eating, we waited another 20 minutes for the check. I was a server before and always give the servers the benefit of the doubt but there were way too many employees there and way too few customers for the servers to be that bad. They have a kids menu and the prices are decent for the area. They have good happy hour specials too. Just don’t go if you’re on a time budget.

Nice local friendly place … It’s a Wednesday night so I couldn’t expect more … But seems like it has potential. Food was good service was great pretty satisfied

Food is not good and service is even worse. Popped in here on Saturday night when we needed something quick. Slowest service ever. We sat down for a good 15 minutes before we could even get water, let alone order our food.
The chips and salsa were free. They were decent. We also ordered guacamole, which was fresh. but not good at all. Barely any flavor.
The guys in our group did not like their tacos. The rice was dry and I agree with another person, tasted old and like it was reheated too often.
Will definitely not be back. There are many more options in the area. We were just tired in our heels and cold to look around some more.
