Dara Lamb

If you want beautiful, perfectly fitted clothing, Dara Lamb is where you should go. I recently went there for a blazer and some sweaters, and I’ve never had such wonderful service. I’m not an easy fit — too broad shoulders, wider hips than I’d like, but Dara managed to create clothing for me that both fit perfectly and made me look great. Quite an accomplishment.
The store is beautiful, with fabrics that would be perfect for work as well as fabrics perfect for a evening gala. Dara herself is comfortable, friendly, helpful, and will give as much or as little guidance as you need in making a selection. If I could, I would have my entire wardrobe made by her!

I have been going to Dara for years, and have been extremely pleased with her service and the quality of her clothing. These clothes fit perfectly and look new year after year — it must be the quality of fabric she chooses. I gave up searching ready to wear for conservative (yet interesting) suits after wasting a frustrating weekend hitting every shop in NYC for just one decent non-​black business suit. I just wish I’d found Dara sooner.
While I’m not one to write reviews, Dara deserves six stars for a service she recently provided. When I bought my first suits, Dara said that they were designed to be altered if necessary, and should my shape change she would happily re-​tailor the suits. Well, my shape changed dramatically after a sabbatical I spent hiking. I went to see Dara, and — without question — five suits and several other items were re-​tailored to fit me perfectly. The suits are so well constructed and Dara is so skilled at fitting that the suits are like new. Dara was also able to match the fabric of a damaged skirt, so I suit I thought ruined is now perfect.

I went in for my first fitting (a couple weeks ago) and the clothes look and feel great. They’re so nice in fact I ordered my overcoat for the winter and a couple more shirts. The pants and dress have to be taken in slightly but once that’s done I’ll finally be able to wear clothes that fits. I can hardly wait!
