Very nice selection of tea. I drink a ton of tea, and having an array of flavors is perfect for tea drinkers like myself. Most of the flavors are delicious and steeped to perfection!

I have to say, I love DavidsTea. The vibe there is great, it’s so fun to explore all the different teas, and the staff could not be more cheerful and helpful. Want to see/smell every tea on the shelf? Just ask, they will happily help you. The language and packaging is all friendly and fun. Davids Tea has got it going on. Love it. Cute gifts, tea«kits»(Cold 911 anybody?) and lots of tea-drinking gear. Oh – and of course I don’t love every tea I’ve ever tried there, but there are a bunch that I really enjoy and with so many varieties, there really is something for everyone.

So good and SO many flavors! We tried berry refreshing(which wasn’t tea leaf based) and it was delicious. We also sampled apple cinnamon which was very yummy. On top of it, the workers were super friendly and great people! It was our first visit, and along with the free samples, they gave us our drinks for free! A member in our party got engaged while on our trip to NY and we told them about it when they asked why we were here so that may have been why but I heard them tell another customer they were about to throw out a tea if she wanted a cup on the house! Regardless, the tea is worth $ 4. Would highly recommend!

My friend introduced me to DavidsTea earlier this year and I am hooked. I’m a major tea snob thanks to my parents so at first I was skeptical. You won’t find traditional Chinese teas here but rather cute and whimsical flavors, I love seeing all the seasonal stuff they put out. I usually come here for my «fun» teas. Before you enter the store there’s a little table outside with tea samples, iced for the summer and hot tea in the winter. They sell lots of teapots, mugs and tumblers to take your tea on the go. A lot of have a stainless steel strainer inside which I love because I hate getting tea leaves in my drink and I’m clumsy so if I drop this I won’t break it. They have lots of accessories for your tea like cute steepers, honey, agave, spoons etc. On the other side of the wall is the counter with the employees behind it. The employees here are super friendly and not in a fake way you can tell that they genuinely want to help you. You can tell them whether you’re a fan of green tea, black tea, fruity teas, herbal teas, whatever floats your boat and they will bring you recommendations to smell and see which one you like the best. If you see an interesting one on the wall and would rather smell that, they’re more than happy to bring it down for you to smell. You can get tea by the packet or in a tin. I normally get the small sized tin because it’s enough tea to keep me satisfied for a while but I can come back to sample another flavor when I ran out! They also have gift sets if you’re not sure what to get. Some of my favorites are A Midnight Summer’s Dream, Magic Dragon and Cotton Candy. The cotton candy was amazing iced, if you have a sweet tooth you could add some honey but I think it’s fine as it is and it tasted just like cotton candy! There are 2 tables you can hang out at in the back after you get your tea. But, the tables here are a little big, I think more of smaller tables would be better but that is really my only compliant. Bonus, the bathrooms here are clean!

you want to buy tea you’ve found the place. select from walls of tea choices, loose or bagged, if you can’t find it there you probably don’t really need it. the flavors are untraditional so if you are looking for that ancient chinese tea then go elsewhere. i have never gone wrong there. the staff is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. i am pleased to go there whenever i am in town.

One of my favorite shops in the city. I don’t usually shop for tea. I don’t even really drink tea most of the time, I am 100% a coffee person. Except … I once ran in front of David’s Tea, they were offering some samples. It was cold, it was sunny, it was three weeks before Christmas, and they handed me the perfect spice tea. From then on I’ve taken the habit of going once in a while to pack up on tea, and every visit is a delight. The quality really is there, they have so much choice and new flavors every season. The staff is friendly and really knows its stuff. They also have a lot of cups, mugs, teapots and so on that make perfect gifts. Personal favorite: the cinaberry.

After walking by this place so many times, and receiving little free samples, I decided to pop in and see what it was all about. The smell was very aromatic and the staff were friendly. The teas were kinda expensive, $ 3 for a small pouch with 1 – 2 leaves. You can get so much more from the other tea and coffee shops in NYC, but I decided to give the tea a try and bought one. It tasted good, very fruity and smooth, but it felt like it was artificial, since the tea tasted very sweet, and I didn’t ask for any sugar, honey or sweetener in the tea. I’ll probably go here again, but once in a blue moon.

Very pleasant, cheerful and helpful staff! I am a tea newbie and more of a coffee drinker. Upon telling the employee this, he graciously got out a few teas for me to smell and told me about them. Basically, they were teas to ease coffee drinkers into tea. One was even a coffee flavored tea! I ended up purchasing a cute mug and some tea and definitely consider this a «go-to» place when I’m in NY.

Overpriced teas with fancy packaging and artificial flavorings. Canadian owned. I stay away from David’s Teas after I discovered there are artificial ingredients in them. Plus, I discovered a great place in NYC with similar, if not better teas at half of David’s Teas’ cost that’s been in the Greenwich Village for ages.

I officially fell in love with tea in this place! Delicious, strong loose teas by the ounce. And so many flavors! They even let you sniff the leaves. They also sell prepackaged specialty teas, including iced tea. Samples in front. Staff is knowledge and friendly. Also a wide array of cups and steepers, though they’re a little pricey.

I love their wide selection of fun tea flavors — birthday cake, red velvet and many more! I wish I had gotten my tea hot instead, because they add a lot of ice into your cup and it ends up melting and diluting your tea quickly. The staff is always friendly and ever ready to recommend you a type of tea that best suits your taste. Be sure to sign up for their membership program! You get a free drink for signing up and also on your birthday. You also get to collect points and redeem it for tea leaves along the way.

Ironically, I was sitting in Cones for the first time and staring at David’s Tea. I found myself mocking it, «Another pretentious tea shop. Who even shops at a tea shop?» I saw the woman offering free samples outside and randomly decided to try one. When I did, I was hooked! The employees here are so friendly, passionate, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. The expertise and enthusiasm is really what made me love this place. My OCD was in complete check and heaven when I saw the(possibly hundreds) of color coded canisters of flavored teas behind the register. The world just seemed right when I saw such an orderly wall! We were allowed to smell and learn about many of the teas, I saw and learned about movie night, and I was hooked. Anything with popcorn is bound to be amazing, and my «movie night» iced tea was no exception, excellent flavor! I cannot wait to come by and enjoy more flavors. You can get tea hot or cold, latte style, or pop/soda style where they add carbonation. There is so much tea gear here for make your own tea at home! I can’t wait to get started, I’m hooked! Very cute interior design and vibe going on.

I wasn’t too pleased with my experience at the DavidsTea on 6th Avenue, but I wanted to give it another try here at Bleecker Street. Happy to say that I had a much better time and will be back at this location. The two employees at the store were both pleasant and helpful, and they let me smell as many teas as I wanted before picking one out. One of the employees even pulled down two of her favorite teas from the wall as recommendations for me. I previously tried Butterfly Jasmine and enjoyed it, so I decided to go with Vanilla Rose this time around. The tea didn’t have as strong of a rose flavor as I had hoped, but it was still refreshing on a hot and humid day. The employee who steeped my tea admitted to me that he doesn’t prepare Vanilla Rose too often, so he offered to remake my drink if I don’t like it. I thought that was very sweet of him, though I believed the drink came out just fine. There seems to be more of a selection of merchandise at this location than the one on 6th Avenue. Plus, there’s a reasonable amount of seating in the back. I don’t think they sell food at DavidsTea, but with all the yummy treats available in the West Village(and even on Bleecker Street alone), you have nothing to lose by focusing strictly on tea while you’re here.

The staff at this location was super nice and friendly. They even told me that I had two free cups of Tea in my frequent sippers card which the other locations neglect to tell me; and I had no clue about even thou I had asked the other locations previously. Would definitely come back to this location again. The staff even gave me a complimentary cup of ice tea. Now that’s great customer service. Thanks David’s Tea West Village.

Outrageously expensive tea from lovely people. Bought eight ounces and qualified for ‘free’ 4 ounces. Only during the final ringing up was it apparent that my ‘free’ tea was $ 45 and the discount was being taken on the cheaper tea. I should have backed out at that point, but the staff are so lovely to talk to that I couldn’t do that to them after the tea had already been measured and packaged. Very expensive real estate in Burlingame so I understand the pricing. The street is becoming a foodie haven with excellent olive oil at Del’Oliva and several great bakeries. Hopefully, there are enough folks flush with cash to keep the place going. For the true tea tasting experience(and free tastings) it is hard to beat Chinatown.

I became familiar with David’s tea at their UES location and fell in love — and as a result of my Christmas present to her, my roommate is now in love. Recently I visited the West Village location. This review is for David’s Tea as a whole but also for the WV location. Ever since moving to NYC I was trying to find a good tea shop comparable to my SoFla favorite. David’s Tea won me over for their diversity of tea flavors, and ability to smell the scents from their wall displays. David’s Tea also offers many accessories, slightly overpriced but that is to be expected in a place like this– BUT they tend to offer good deals(BOGO, discount on teas, etc). You can get your tea hot or cold, latte, or as ‘pop’(soda).which I’ve never tried. If you’re staying they serve the tea in to-stay mugs, which will always win me over. The staff at the UES and WV location were friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Both locations also offer cozy space of about 2 – 3 tables if you’d like to sit down, read a little, chat with friends. I’m especially excited for the summertime so I can get my iced tea in their summer season flavors.

About a 2.5: Davids Tea is a Canadian specialty tea and tea accessory retailer that originates from Montréal. A Teavana competitor, they offer a variety of white, green, oolong, black, pu’erh, mate, rooibos, and herbal teas. You can also shop by ingredients(straight tea, cinnamon, chocolate, mangoes, apples, ginger, goji berries, almonds, peppercorn, lemongrass, hibiscus, bergamot, coconut, mint, blueberry, jasmine, vanilla, licorice, chamomile, orange, lemon, and coffee beans). They have a tea menu, in which you can purchase either hot, iced, latte, teapop(carbonated), or a pot of tea; you can also purchase by the tin. They also offer tea accessories, such as tea mugs, teapots, tea makers, kettles, frothers, spoons, etc. The employee that helped us, Sarah, was very sweet, and she worked with us to offer her suggestions and recommendations — there were a variety of loose leaf tea that we did plenty of sniff testing of, and finally decided to try out two: the Sleigh Ride(smelled like spices; had it in the form of an iced tea with honey as a sweetener) and the Queen of Tarts(organic; cranberry-focused; had it in a form of a teapop, unsweetened). The Sleigh Ride was okay, but I think there was too much of the honey, as it was overly sweet; in addition, the taste of the spices were a little less than subtle. The teapop, which sounded delicious and yummy, was also a little underwhelming; the Queen of Tarts in this form was just okay, and I don’t think the sweetener would have helped. I liked how the cups were of generous size, though; there was also some seating within as well, so you can sit down and enjoy your cup of brew. The place was very bright and cheerful, but I thought the tea experience was a little underwhelming! +friendly staff; ask for Sarah: D +variety of tea offered(color-coded) +Canadian-based tea company — competitor of Teavana

As a tea enthusiast myself, I am not too crazy about this place. I have been there on multiple occasions due to the popularity between my friends, but it just does not taste right to me. The drinks taste too sugary for my liking. I have tried multiple drinks such as one of my favorite teas, rooibos, movie night, and many others. Although I do not enjoy their drinks, the place is very clean, has a hip and relaxing atmosphere, and the workers are very welcome and accommodating. 5 stars for all David’s Tea employees.

This place is my favorite to get tea in the entire city. I always make an effort to make it here whenever I find myself in NYC, which seems to be a frequent thing as of recently. The staff is super friendly and inviting. I’ve found myself chatting with them longer than I even spent drinking tea. By the way, the tea. You guys, this tea is really REALLY good. I’ve always enjoyed a good green tea and by far, I absolutely LOVE the Buddha’s Blend. It just warms you and definitely brings you to Enlightenment. Also, if you’re like me, they have good lighting for Instagram-ing your tea, I see you, teenage tourists. I’m looking out for you. 5⁄5
