Every time I come into a Duane Reade I always feel like I am irritating the employees by stepping foot into there store. While the location is perfect for this store and they have a wide selection of items I always find them overpriced when compared to Rite Aid or CVS which are both within close proximity of this store. I have been here countless times over the last 6 years and continue to get the same non-existent service. I have no idea why I keep coming back except for laziness, but now I am going to make an effort to avoid at all costs. I recommend you do the same.

I go to a lot of Duane Reade’s…I mean a lot!
I’d never even seen this one buried under the Helmsley Building but I needed some shaving cream so I stopped in. First, I was delighted they had everything I needed. Second, they had a huge supply of Valentine’s Day candy at 75% off. Who needs a sweetheart when I can by myself multiple heart-shaped boxes filled with with chocolates?! For me??? I shouldn’t have!
Well stocked store, efficient cashiers, discount chocolate… that earns three stars in my book.

Ok so New Yorkers always used to tell me how great Duane Reade was and I was excited to have frequent access to it when I moved here. THEY WERE WRONG. It sucks, very consistently, all over the city. This happens to be where I would go for prescriptions, and they lose my refill orders, have atrocious lines due to their lackadaisical, slow service, and I’m sick of it. I’m switching back to CVS.
