This is a multiple meal report.
The service is good. The atmosphere is nice. At this time they have no liquor license.
I have to say the general tso‘s chicken is by far the best tasting sauces around but should be a little more spicier. The chicken is large pieces and very tender, NOT that fatty deep fried stuff.
The mango chicken was a little dry not sweet also needs to be spicier.
The boneless spare rib was dry.
The miso soup is very good.
The avocado roll and the salmon rolls are very good

I had a late lunch here the 2^nd day they were open. I have been a fan of the East/​Empire joints for a while now (I’m pretty sure that they are all the same owners since the menus are similar) and East Manor really didn’t meet my expectations. The place looks really nice, there is a huge bar which is not yet stocked since they don’t have a license yet. I suspect that when they get the liquor license they will try to attract a bar crowd because it takes up a substantial part of the restaurant. The staff were all super-​friendly. I had the sushi lunch special. The presentation was beautiful and I really wasn’t expecting that with a lunch special, but the sushi itself just wasn’t that great. I felt it was a little dried out and had less flavor than it should have. This was on day 2 of the restaurant being open so I would like to think the fish was fresh??? I also ordered the seafood & pineapple fried rice to go because I was going to be working all night. I really didn’t like it, but I am judging it based on reheating it, so maybe it would’ve been better? Anyway, I will stick with the Pan-​Asian Bistro in the mall for a nice sit-​down dinner and East Sushi (Eltingville) and Empire East (New Dorp) for my take-​out. And I say «take-​out» because they only deliver within 3 miles, and I live like 4 or 5 miles… grrrrr…they are lucky I like them so much!
