This is a good neighborhood place. It is not amazing, but it is very good, and has a friendly and accommodating wait staff. The guacamole and chips are good and come quickly. I have been happy with all of the dishes I have tried here including the enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos. My son loves the nachos with chorizo and I must say the chorizo on the nachos is excellent — I would love to know how they season it, it has a faint cinnamon taste but it really works.

This place is overpriced and and they need to work on their service. There aren’t many Mexican restaurants in the area so I was excited that this restaurant was close to the 1 line. But I was very disappointed by the food and waitress was inattentive and unfriendly

Literally, one of the best places to eat within the area, if not the BEST Mexican food in the area. Coming from Southern California, I know my Mexican food and boy, does El Porton hit the spot! Extremely authentic considering how for New York is from the US/Mexico Boarder. Also, the margarita’s are INTENSE: 1 «Mama Size» and you’re good, 2 margarita’s and you’re set for the night. They load them with tequila so it’s a win-win for everybody!

Decent lunch special for the neighborhood. Grilled chicken salad is good if you want something light but filling.
