I was cheering and spectating the 2015NYC Marathon with friends along Central Park West, and afterwards, it was late, and we were getting hungry and headed to this restaurant based on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the Elizabeth’s burger, which came with a side of fries. Eh it was alright. Very forgettable meal. The service wasn’t particularly exceptional either. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here.

For such a «thoughtful» place, they sure are racist. I came here for a family breakfast the morning after an interracial wedding. By the time I got to the restaurant, the groom’s family(black) had all been seated and there wasn’t enough room for everyone to sit together. I sat with the bride’s family(white) at another huge table and others in our party were scattered around the restaurant. Our table, the white table, received our food first. We were seated at least 15 minutes after the groom’s party and they ordered long before we did. We as a table ordered, then two more people joined us and put in their orders, EVERYONE(including the stragglers) at my table received food before anyone at the groom’s table received anything. We were both equally large parties, we both ordered the same basic items off of the menu. Literally the only difference between the two tables was that one was filled with black people(and one white person), the other was filled with white people(and one black person). The groom very calmly spoke to the staff about how his family was being treated and they just stood there staring at him dumbly, acting like there was no issue. This is the egregiousness of the disparity of service in a nutshell: Black patrons point out they’re being mistreated, the employees act like there’s no issue. White patron, so appalled with the treatment of the black family, refuses to touch his food. A server notices this and, unprompted, rushes over to make sure he’s okay, that his food is okay, that his experience is okay. He tells her he’s very upset with how the black patrons are being treated(his new family) and she just shrugs and walks away. I will never, ever set foot inside this establishment again. All the thought, nurture, and care they claim to have only extends to white people and the food on the plates. Liz O Milner, you should be ashamed.

Elizabeth’s table claims to be a neighborhood restaurant but w a Cobb salad costing 24 dollars which neighborhood are they talking about. Claiming they serve organic is no excuse for price gauging. Pancakes at brunch are 17.50. Let’s get real. The bartender is great and the drinks are reasonable. Drink here, eat elsewhere.

It’s just another over-priced restaurant with mediocre food at the border of the Upper West Side. It makes me remember why I eat below 90th St.

I went here with my significant other and the service was amazing! The food was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I went on a Tuesday night, which happened to be date night at the restaurant which came with a complimentary wine. I’m not big on drinking because I always hate everything Hahaha but it was very good wine! I would definitely recommend this place!

If this place wasn’t very very close to where I live, I doubt I’d ever go out of my way to eat there. The restaurant boasts local and organic food, which is always appreciated, but even for the neighborhood, I think it’s a bit overpriced. The breakfast/brunch food is only ok, nothing special — pancakes are quite meh. As for lunch, their burgers are pretty good, but get them under what you what them cooked, as they inevitably overcook them. Salads are decent, but don’t bother out of the spring/summer, as the produce is pretty sad(yes, I realize most isn’t in season). Overall the service is pretty hit or miss, usually quite slow, but at least they are kid friendly. This place is good for a «i dont want to go far to eat an O.K. meal, so I may as well go here.»

Slow service but delicious food! Very classy place with outdoor seating. Everything is freshly made and healthy. The granola and yogurt was super delicious.

Had a very delicious lunch here with my son. Very child friendly and we had the most pleasant people around us. From the guy who refilled out water, the waitress to the manager who checked if we are happy. We certainly were. Good was very good(Caesar salad with chicken and my son ate Mac and cheese). It’s very beautiful here and I love the neighborhood! We’ll be back!

Here’s an update. My first review was three years ago, and I’m happy to say things have gotten much, much better at Elizabeth’s. After holding off for about two years my husband and I decided to try it again, and have been back and tried several dishes there. They’ve all been very good. The fried chicken platter is HUGE and delicious. The turkey meatloaf is yummy. The burgers are enormous. And I would never order mussels anyplace else. They have a great bartender, Mark, who will always tell you what dish he thinks is a winner that day, and makes a great drink. It’s a nice neighborhood restaurant, and we will continue to go back.

This restaurant did several things right. The most telling were: 1. They let us choose our seats on a busy Friday night. 2. When listing the specials, the server also listed the prices. 3. When the food came out, it was piping hot, so I knew it wasn’t sitting under a heat lamp for 10 minutes. All this tells me that they are genuinely interested in the customer experience. It doesn’t take much, but few places get it right.

Nice brunch place, good environment, but inconsistent service. We made a reservation for a Saturday for brunch but it didn’t seem like you really need to as we saw that there’s still open tables here and there. When we got the restaurant, they ran out of menus. This was the first time I’ve ever been to a restaurant that can run out of menus… How’s that possible? They finally got some back and seated us. The décor of place is cozy and bright with lots of sunshine, suitable for a brunch place. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. After we’ve been seated, we were served with this complimentary shot of juice. It’s orange juice mixed with kale. Pretty tasty and green. Haha. They’re accommodating in your food and drinks ordered so basically they would make the food to however you’d like. We got biscuits and gravy, lizzie bennie, and lumber jack omelette. They all came with salad n homefries. All dishes were tasty and hot. The portions were big and we can’t finish our food. The tables are close to each other so if you don’t want to be overheard or want some quiet and peace, this might not be the place for you. We, however, had a pleasant conversation with the table next to us and added enjoyment to our brunch. We really want to love this place but their service really depends on whom you get, which is not great if you got someone who’s not knowledgeable of the menu nor really acknowledges you.

Wow, this was quite an experience. Probably the most unique and memorable restaurant experience I’ve had in NYC. Main points/things you should know about Elizabeth’s: 1. The food is fresh, and majority if not all the menu is organic, cruelty free, and grass-fed. 2. It is American food. More specifically, traditional«comfort food», with a healthy and creative twist. 3. The ambiance is very country/folk. The restaurant is designed as a cottage, and they play really comforting and relaxing folk music. On to the food: Appetizer– Chicken fingers and fries with a sweet bbq sauce. Sauce and fries were excellent. The chicken fingers itself were a bit plain, and the breading comes right off the chicken if you try to tear it in half. It may be due to the fact that the chicken itself was cooked in advance, then breaded and fried up real quick to serve. If you’ve ever made fresh chicken fingers, you’d notice the difference. Main course – We ordered the burger and simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries(AND greens). The burger was delightful. Bacon cheeseburger with a runny egg on top. For $ 3 more you can have fries, onion rings or a salad. My husband got the onion rings. The meat was cooked perfectly. The burger itself was quite a masterpiece. It was juicy, well cooked, fresh toppings, the whole shabang. Very impressed. The onion rings were massive. The batter was nice, though I would prefer smaller, more bite size, crispier onion rings, just due to the fact that when you bite into them, it kind of falls apart. As for the breakfast, it was also good! The only thing I would have preferred is 3 links of sausage(they were fabulous! are they made in-house? i could BUY these, just these! to make at home) instead of the thick smokey cuts of bacon. The eggs were cooked just right. The sausage again, was amazing, and the bacon was very smokey. Both the fries and the homefries were very good. Not that many can jazz up potatoes very well, but Elizabeth’s really knows how to potato! Price: I was honestly surprised how affordable this restaurant is. The quality matches the price. Actually, the quality surpasses the price. But, I’m glad they keep their prices reasonable. It’s a very honest and noble thing to do in my opinion, and that is what keeps people coming back. Staff and service: Our waitress was very pleasant. Super attentive. Very quick. On the other hand, the woman at the door was a bit… spacey? She said«what» and«huh» about 5 times and appeared confused when we asked to be seated. Very odd. Did we catch her off guard? And last but not least, both of their toilets were clogged. LOL! I thought that was funny, but if the place was crowded, that could have caused a much bigger problem. All in all, unique and delicious experience. I would go back. I would bring my parents here! That says a lot!

Have only come here for dinner on 5 different occasions, so can’t comment on the brunch. Every meal has been great! + portions are HUGE. Don’t order an appetizer unless you’re sharing. + they can accommodate big groups(have been here w 12 people without issue). + cute outdoor seating w a white picket fence and patio swing chair. + lots of organic and local produce and meat/fish/dairy. I like that they support local farmers and use quality food(the menu notes where food is from). You are what you eat! It may be a little more expensive than other restos, but for the quality food, delicious home-cooked recipes(like your grandma would cook) and relaxing summer afternoon atmosphere, I’ll gladly pay the extra bucks. Plus, they take reservations! Enjoy!

I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon with my sister and a friend. It was easy to make our reservation via Open Table, and when the three of us arrived we chose to sit out on the front patio. The patio area is large(for NYC) and very adorable. My mom would have loved the décor. I ordered the veggie burger. When asked if I would like it on toast or bread, I asked our server which was better and she said the toast, hands down. I followed her suggestion. My burger was very tasty, but very large. It ended up being more of a fork event rather than a just-pick-it-up-and-eat-it affair. Avocado was spilling out everywhere. Not complaining… it was still quite tasty. Our server was a bit lackadaisical compared to most in the city. It’s a bit pricey for the overall quality of experience but perhaps you are paying for the ambiance.

The biscuits here were really fabulous. Huge and crisp on the outside and moist inside.(If you’ve been in the South recently, skip them because they’re not quite that good, but for NY, they’re excellent). I visited with two friends and their 3-year-olds. The staff were lovely and fabulous about finding space for the strollers.(Admittedly, this was during a slow period, so don’t expect the same if it’s busy.) The food my friends got looked great. I had the sliders, which were left way too long under a salamander or something because the buns were like rocks. I was avoiding carbs anyway, so it wasn’t too critical. Their homemade ketchup was okay, but I think I could have used some vinegar or a pickle on the burgers to go with it. The waiter was pleasant and very kind to the kids, but we had to ask for refills of drinks and water and it was hard(very hard) to find someone to get him when we needed the check. Again, it was during a slow time, so it’s understandable that people have to take breaks some time, but restless 3-year-olds are not the greatest restaurant guests ever.

Adorable. If you’re looking for a cute place to grab brunch on a warm summer day this is your spot! If you want to try the food but don’t want to wait then hit this up in the winter — zero wait time all the time. Onto the food. I’ve been here for brunch and dinner and I can say everything is pretty mediocre. the fried chicken is nothing to write home about(especially when you’re paying $ 20+ for a small portion). The greens — which I expect by no means to be healthy — taste wilted and overcooked. If you come for brunch you do get a little complimentary smoothie shot but is that worth the $ 30+ you’ll pay for one person? Service is also mediocre. They seem to get overwhelmed easily and don’t manage high volume so you’ll wind up waiting for your check for quite a while. Overall I would say pass unless you’re looking to throw down money for the atmosphere.

What a great brunch my friend and I just had here! We loved everything about it from the food to the décor to the service. I had the stuffed French toast and my friend had the smoked salmon omelette. We shared a side of bacon. My French toast was great. Thick cut challah with bananas and cream cheese baked inside. I’ve never seen stuffed French toast this way and it was terrific. Not too sweet and not that heavy. My friend really enjoyed her omelette. And we collectively liked the bacon which I would have liked to have been crispier. Awesome brunch spot. A little bit of stroller heaven which is to be expected on the upper west side but still great overall.

A really nice breakfast place on the UWS — I really wish I lived closer. We had the corned beef hash. The chunks of corned beef and potatoes were a bit larger than I’m used to, but it was still really good(great chunks of beef), and it came with toast on the side(but we opted for the biscuit) and honey butter and blueberry jam — all terrific. It also came with a small(think: shot) of homemade smoothie/juice that was nice too. We also had the breakfast sausage which was also quite tasty. Overall, really nice. A nice cozy place, and good food. Pretty good coffee, too.

Sigh. Elizabeth’s has nice quaint décor like a Southern home, but then proceeds to underwhelm. We came for brunch, in a large group, enjoyed our meals, but were left not blown away. We had a group of 6, it’s a Saturday, and it’s Manhattan. We decided that the Upper West Side would be a nice place to walk off the meal, and headed that way. We saw Elizabeth’s and decided to head in. The service was pretty good, though the restaurant was fairly empty. Brunch stops at 4 and we were there about 2ish. So perhaps that’s the reason why. We ordered breakfast food and burgers. Nothing complicated. I had the corned beef hash and two eggs scrambled. We ordered some mimosas. The orange juice seemed freshly squeezed and the mimosa was good. Then came the biscuits. That was a crime against biscuitry. Honestly, I almost went to the kitchen myself to cook them properly.(My mother’s got the best, she could easily solve their problem.) They were cooked well on the outside, doughy on the inside and made with some weird wheat-based flour? Avoid them. Popeye’s, Church’s, heck maybe even Pillsbury can do better. The apple sauce that came with it was excellent, but the biscuit was a crime. The corned beef hash tasted more like brisket. I enjoyed that.(I only ordered it because they have no turkey based meats on the menu.) That’s a minus in my book. Very few places only carry pork products. The eggs were scrambled hard and cooked too fast. They’d be fluffy if you cook them slowly. So the breakfast was meh, to me. Down the street was a place that could have made a turkey bacon, 2 egg on a english muffin for $ 2.50. And that’s second problem. It’s overpriced. I mean expensive for what you get and where else you can buy it. That said. the service was great(particularly our waitress, the other guys were more disengaged, but then the plates moved very quickly.) Also, the space for a group was perfect. So if you are looking for somewhere for a large group, then this may work. For brunch alone, get some drinks.
