There was a shooting inside the restaurant yesterday evening, don’t risk ur life. Eat at another place. This restaurant is in a very high crime area filled with gangs

I decided to give this place a try, since I just moved into the neighborhood, and have been looking for a good chinese restaurant. The food was delicious! But, the delivery time was extremely long.

I’d give it 0, but, unfortunately, the rating systems have not realized that one is not the lowest number. I ordered from Empire before. Today, I placed my order based on the menu they provided the last time I ordered — two weeks prior. My bill should have been $ 15. So, when my food was dropped off and there was a $ 3 difference I asked why. The delivery guy said I should call the store. I called and a man answered the phone and I asked him if he could please clarify the bill for me. He immediately started yelling, «it’s $ 18 you pay.» I told him to calm down, I only wanted to inquire about the bill because I’d just ordered two weeks ago and based on the menu I wanted to understand the bill. He drops the phone and starts yelling to someone in Chinese. Another man picks up and yelling says, «you pay or no food.» I’m getting annoyed because I generally don’t tolerate being yelled at by strangers. But alas, I was determined to maintain my composure — maybe the language difference was the issue. I said to this guy, I have no idea what is wrong, but I do know it is too early for all of this screaming. I simply called to receive clarification over your bill. I intend to pay for it, but I am questioning it as is my right as a customer. Frankly, I should not be the one apologizing or really explaining myself because I am the customer. Mind you, as I’m trying to explain this vital principle of customer service he is still yelling at me. Then I hear him say, «you people think you don’t have to pay.» That caught my attention. That’s what this was about. I chuckled and told him thank you. It was now obvious he thought that because he was in Harlem and he probably assumed I am ordering from the projects that I am black, and therefore, I should not be afforded the same courtesy, professionalism and decency that you would give the new residents of Harlem or those who live further down on the UES. I am very well aware that he would act totally different in his tone and demeanor if he was in fact further downtown. I don’t live in the projects; but, even if I did that doesn’t mean that I am not a paying customer who deserves to be treated with respect. If businesses in Harlem cannot treat customers in Harlem with respect then those businesses should not be allowed to do business in Harlem. Frankly, I am sick and damn tired of people feeling like they can treat the darker residents of this community with such blatant disrespect and dismiss them just because they feel like they can get away with it. I paid for my food because I determined there was more than one way to address this type of situation. I didn’t tip the delivery man, who was mumbling obscenities at me the whole time. When I gave him the money, he told me to s&*k his ____and f&*k you, b&*^h. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from these racists anymore.

We’ve been ordering from here for years and it’s been solid, though taste and quality seems to change every few months presumably based on the change in cook. The consistently good dishes are fried pork dumplings, beef with broccoli, chicken with broccoli, moo SHU chicken, and sautéed spinach(when they have it). The noodle soups are very good and the fried chicken wings. Also the free cold sesame noodles for delivery orders over $ 11 is always excellent. We like that you can ask for no MSG and brown rice.

Simple no frills Chinese yum. Highly suggested you go in person as a phone order can be as challenging as Jeopardy.

I order from here once a month. Their food is pretty good and reasonable priced for what you get. Chicken wings are tasty and they’re pork fried rice is also good. M husband likes their shrimps and ice tea.

I cannot believe this place has such good reviews. I am so disappointed every time i order from here. This place is only a couple of blocks away from my house and I love me some chinese food but after having a few horrible experiences, I am officially done. Each time I think that the experience has to be better than the previous time, and it never is. To start, when you call to place your order, it seems as though the employees are not even listening to what you say. They are rude and rush you off the phone before you can get all of your questions out(How long? How much?). When I get my food, it is usually undercooked. I tried asking for it well done, I tried asking for different dishes(Ive had beef and broccoli and also the pork lo mein and pork fried dumplings) but then it was burnt. There does not seem to be any happy medium. I have gotten into two arguments with the employees and they usually end up re-making my food, but I am too agitated to eat it. Now, let me state again: I LOVE chinese food. But I just have had it with this place. On the lookout for a decent place in Harlem for chinese food.

I’ve been ordering from here since I moved to East Harlem almost a decade ago, and this is a staple of the neighborhood. Don’t come here expecting gourmet Chinese cuisine, but if you’re looking for good Chinese takeout this is your place. Incredibly cheap, fast, and delicious. And despite the name, this place does Japanese and comfort food as well. In the mood for some fried plantains, udon noodles, or wonton soup? Empire Corner is the way to go.

This place is sort of ridiculously cheap, especially for NYC. AND it’s open all the time. AND their pork egg rolls are way better than I expected. They’re super fast, super well priced, and really courteous. The lunch specials top out at $ 7 and you get an entrée, rice, and soup! Insane! This place is precariously close to where I live.

Not the best Chinese food I’ve ever had but it gets the job done. It’s inexpensive, fast free delivery and I don’t feel like my arteries are clogging when I eat it. I see many weekday nights spent with Empire Corner.
