Have made comprehensive maps of optical shops in Manhattan but always end up here. Yes stores like Warby Parker are disintermediating & demystifying the market but their preppy Anglophilia is annoying and the frames all look the same. Gloria also cuts the absurd markups and will do cheap fixes, quick updates of your prescription and give informed, objective information about lenses. Her shop is so small you feel comfortable taking your time & asking anything. This is a tiny shop a mile from the subway but is refreshingly real.
