In love with this little stop with such a great food at good prizes and great service.

This place is a hole in the wall! I think most of the orders ate take out cause there’s very limited seating, maybe 4 people at most. Dropped in for a quick bite to go, and ordered a falafel wrap, fish wrap, lamb/chicken combo, lentil soup and fava beans. I gotta say my falafel wrap was pretty good! Good enough to go back for another, and my friend really enjoyed her fish wrap. The next day i had the lentil soup and again i was impressed, it’s rich deep flavors are on point! The meat combo was gobbled down by my kid with no complaints, still haven’t gotten to the fava beans but I’m really impressed with this place. All the food and 3 drinks came out to a happy $ 35. I’ll definitely be coming back. Happy Unilocaling!

Tasty chicken, good falafel and nice staff. Size of portion was also awesome. Will definitely come back for take-away lunch if I am around

Service was amazing and food was made fresh. I ordered the lamb platter. They honored my request to get extra salad and less rice. You can choose the items you want in your salad. It did not come with a grape leaf though, as someone previously posted. As for the food itself, it was very salty and oily. Well seasoned, a little woo well seasoned. Even with my extra undressed salad I couldn’t finish it because it was so salty. For the food itself, I would give only 3 stars; however, the service was excellent and the price was right.

Love this place for lunch. Delicious middle Eastern food. Come here at least three time a week. Usually get the chicken and rise or the chicken salad. There is limited seating so I usually just get lunch to go and eat at my desk. Definitely check this place out!

Best middle eastern food around. I got the lamb Kosta kabob. Amazing. Their hot sauce also has amazing flavor!

Wish I could give it more stars. Best affordable middle eastern food in NYC. They’re signature spicy sauce is amazing and my favorite hot sauce in the city. I also love the fish, falafel, baba ganoosh. The grape leaves are soo good as well as the grape leaves wrap. Also the baklava is a unknown tasty treat.

Low quality inauthentic food. The tabbouleh is made of just giant pieces of parsley. Barely any tomato or cucumber, and zero grain. Nothing is finely chopped(as it should be), so it’s quite hard to eat and chew. It’s horrendously LOADED with vinegar. I’ve never even had vinegar in tabbouleh. The falafel is definitely not 100% chickpea — it’s mixed with some kind of bready mixture; not sure what it is exactly, but it’s very mushy/almost raw inside. The only decent thing was the grape leaves, but I’m pretty sure they’re the canned kind. (Disclaimer: I’m middle eastern and have eaten quite a lot of delicious, homemade food. This place doesn’t even come close.)

Food was just ok I have had better. I order a Kofta sandwich it was made with the smallest pita bread I have ever seen. It was not worth the money or the walk to Harlem. Maybe I should have ordered a platter but things should be consistent sandwiches make up half the menu.

I’ve had way better. Musaka’a wrap was mostly wrap. Hummus was fairly watery. Falafel were somewhat dry and not crunchy at all. Ordered the combo falafel plate — guy at the counter put one piece of beet and one grape leave until I asked him to add more. Baklava was soggy and somewhat stale. Disappointing.

I looked up this place on Unilocal and it seemed fine so I went in. I turned around and left because it had a weird smell and the guy at the counter did not greet me even though I was the only person in there at the time. Nothing else on the street seemed better so I went back. I ended up getting a chicken pita. He asked how spicy I wanted it, I said medium spicy. It was about $ 5. I took it home to eat and I was pleasantly surprised. It was tasty, a good amount of chicken to lettuce, kind of spicy. I thought to myself as I ate it «If I don’t get sick from this, it was a good choice.» And I did not get sick so… four stars!

Idk why this place has so many positive reviews. Moroccan lentil soup was lukewarm, only given half a piece of gross tasting pita bread, falafel was soooo dry, and the hummus had no flavor. The fries were soggy and limp. Will NOT be returning.

What I love about Falafel Tarboosh: + Amazing food + Freshly made to order falafels + Hummus and veggie buffet bar is fresh and endless + Service is astounding + Prices are cray-cheap + One block from my new house If I’ve reeled you in, allow me to continue… Falafel Tarboosh is located on the corner of my new apartment, and walking by I thought I would give them a try. It wasn’t until after I ordered and was waiting for my fresh falafel to be made by the smiling gent in the back who emanated«I love my job» and«I love my customers» that I finally checked in and noticed the great reviews. Excited, I waited on pins and needles painstakingly for my food which was wafting it’s way into my nose and activating my senses(is falafel a sixth sense or seventh!?) Grabbing my food to go, I headed to the nearby ABCD train station at 145th and eagerly bore into my falafel and hummus platter with whole wheat pita. Diving into the pool of hummus was a symphony of earthy flavors meeting with tart citrus and garlic in a beautiful mash-up. When in the area, of all your options, Falafel Tarboosh should not be one of them; it should be a given.

Awesome middle eastern falafal and shwarma bar with huge portions, and you’ll want to eat every last bite… I’ve always gotten one of the platters(recommend the mixed which comes with chicken and lamb). I always get the works. Meat is flavorful as is the rice. Comes with falalal as well which is well made, crispy and has a minty refreshing center. Platter comes with salad and I mean a legit salad with many of the same ingredient to pick from a fancy gourmet salad bar. All the ingredients look very fresh and taste just as fresh. White sauce/hot sauce please! And no this hot sauce will not burn your taste buds like THE chicken and rice does. OVERALL: I’m tempted for give this 5 stars but will leave it at 4.5 for now.

food tastes good. but they have catered to the local crowd. the owner mentioned this to me when i expressed disappointment at the moussaka. the chicken shwarma was delicious but it wasn’t authentic. the falafel was great! that’s the one to go with here if you are looking for authentic. everything else might have a twist to it to fit the neighborhood palette. :-) prices are great. i would definitely come here again if i’m in the area.

This place is such a gem here in Harlem! I’ve ordered/been here numerous times already and the chicken shawarma is so good that I can’t get myself to try anything else. Yep, it’s that good. The chicken is extremely flavorful and can be made as spicy as you’d like. Plus it’s cheap! ~6/7 bucks. My coworker tried their falafels and raved about those. Maybe soon if my taste buds allow, I’ll try it. Lastly, service is great. All the workers are very nice and informative!

Fresh, flavorful, cheap I can’t believe I walked by this place so many times without sampling it’s delicious delicious offerings! Well, I’ve now had it three times in the past two weeks and I’m considering ordering again right now. My boyfriend and I have tried the gyro, shwarma(meat and chicken), falafel, and hummus(oh, that wonderful, garlicky hummus!), and everything always tastes incredible and fresh. The place looks a little divey, and service can be slow(although our delivery arrived in record time the other day so: shrug:), but trust me, food this great for a price this low is absolutely worth it!

Explosion of flavors. I ordered the grilled chicken kebab platter with salad and rice, good for two. Everything was spot on. Food was seasoned perfectly, not too much spices and not too little. The cook was very friendly, which I didn’t expect. Can you believe I’ve never tried a falafel? I plan on trying it here first. Until next time.
