Left out one star only because the bottles that i reserved were not the bottles that was brung to me. However, i fully enjoyed celebrating my birthday here. Ray, the manager, was very great at corresponding to me back and fourth thru email to iron out the details of what i wanted. Music was great, drinks weren’t watered down. My friends and I had a great time.

Service is a little slow. I went here for a friends birthday. The servers took forever to bring out the bottles. The wings are good. I would return again.

Went on 12÷6÷13 to help a friend and former co-worker celebrate her«afterwork b’day party». My 4-star rating is based on the attentiveness of the staff, and the overall potential of the venue. Ray, the manager, is a very cool, down-to-earth guy and definitely wants the customers to enjoy their experience. I don’t imbibe, but our waitress/server was very understanding and brought me delicious non-alcoholic concoctions that were reasonably priced. She did remind me on occasion what my tab was, but not in a pushy way. I guess dealing with alcoholics all of the time, this is just her standard practice! There was a decent playlist of songs(hard to rate a fellow dj on Unilocal without being scrutinized as possible«hater»), but I only stayed a couple of hours. Crowd tends to be on the mature side although I did see a sprinkling of Youngin’s in the mix. No one acting a fool and THAT in itself was refreshing to see(I’ve been to «upscale» places where the drama begins BEFORE8pm!). There is a mandatory coat check for V.I.P but that is now a NYC nightlife«rule»(and given the economy I can’t say I blame venues for this). They also serve appetizers but I didn’t partake. A few did and I didn’t witness anyone wretching, so I guess it’s a safe bet if you need to nibble b4 you get«turnt up»!. If invited, I would definitely return. If asked to DJ(hint, hint), I’d be more than happy to.

Note to self, do not introduce weaklings to G&Ts. Took my friend here for her birthday and ended up having one crazy night that started with this fancy champagne shot that the bartender gave to us. Mel, hope you enjoyed it.

I understand that when you’re in the city, prepare to spend your money, but Id like to see what I am paying for! Went for a friends birthday celebration. She had VIP. We had a section in the back. No one told me where we were seated when we walked in, so I searched a dark lounge and spotted some friends. Waitress was friendly, but didn’t come around often and would get a little upset when we ordered drinks from the bar directly. The real point of my review. Okay I like to think I am frugal, possibly borderline cheapy. I make it work. We ordered two beers, I stress again, BEERS, and a vodka and cran(house liquor). Bartender tells me $ 29.50. The cheapy in me asked again to verify. Had I ordered all mixed drinks, I would have understood. Heck, even one beer and two drinks, but a beer for $ 9 that’s ridiculous. It gets super packed out of no where. DJ plays a mix, but we danced the whole night. The crowd for happy hour and for the night party is different. O and make sure you are on someone’s list because its $ 25 to get in if you’re not!

Went on a Saturday night… A bit ratchetty… Maybe I needed a few more drinks… the DJ sucked, played several songs twice! The girls were loud and squealing like pigs in a barn! All the dudes were fat and dressed in what looked to be jeggings! I felt like a spectator at a young ratchet zoo. This is a club NOT a lounge. Fashion 40? No ClubZoo 40 is more like it. Don’t get shots!!! I had two Patron Shots and I remained completely sober… Can we say watered down? Horrible experience! Wish I could give no stars!

Decided to throw a birthday party here. For $ 600 we were promised: 2 bottles of either Ciroc or Grey Goose, a bottle of champagne, 1 free hookah, 15 people free admission and a free birthday cake. Sounds great right? Problem #1: Some of my guest got there before me and when they got to the door the bouncers told them they didn’t have a guest list for my party and they would have to pay to get in. I called the promoter and he said to ask for the manager. I told my guest to ask for the manager and apparently the manager didn’t want to come out. So they waited outside for me to come. When I got there the bouncer told me the same BS. I asked to speak to the manager by name(Sweets). I guess when he saw how many people I had outside with me(about 15 at that time) he automatically said«Oh yea, I do have your list» then let us all in for free. Problem #2: My guest that showed up later had to pay even after telling the bouncers they were on my guest list. I text them and told them to ask for the manager and the bouncers gave the same BS excuse about the manager not being there(meanwhile I’m inside the club looking dead at the manager talking to one of the bartenders). The bouncers must’ve made a killing off my guest that paid. I tried to go outside to get them but the bouncers wouldn’t let me out and said if I stepped foot outside all exits are final or worse case scenario I would have to pay to get back in(Picture that! Me paying to get back into my own party! Yea! Ok!) Problem #3: Apparently in order to have a birthday party there you have to show up by midnight or else all«party packages» go out the window. NOONETOLDMEANYTHINGLIKETHATPRIORTOUSCOMINGTHERE! Also, they gave away our section(no big deal, they had plenty of tables left to chose from). Being that we got there«late» I had to pay for everything individually = 2 Peach Ciroc 750ml bottles for $ 295 each, $ 40 tip for waitress and 1 hookah for $ 30. I spent a total of $ 660 and that didn’t include the cake or free bottle of champagne. My guest were complaining and I was piss the hell off. Those small bottles didn’t do sh*t(I was literally still sober for half the night) and I refused to give them anymore of my money for bottles. So we went to the bar and took shots instead. Problem #4: Small lounge with big club dreams. Very small spot and even smaller«dance floor.» We sat right by the«dance floor» and constantly felt like the entire club was right in our section. Then there were periods when the floor would get packed with people dancing then empty out. We later found out that everyone was slowly migrating upstairs. I later spoke to the promoter and he said our section was supposed to be upstairs(by then I was too pissed off to gather my guest and move). Problem #5: The dress code is confusing. We were told no hats and t-shirts(common sense or so I thought) but I saw nothing but guys and t-shirts and even a few females in t-shirts. The bouncers even had the nerve to turn away 2 of my guest because they had on flats(like come on, it wasn’t like they had on flip flops. The females had on nice, dressy flats). His excuse was«sorry, only grown and sexy attire.» I’m sorry but some of the beach whales in their little sisters dresses, hood rats in long t-shirts that doubled as a dress and men with white tees with brown sweat marks under there arms pits didn’t exactly scream GROWNANDSEXY to me! Overall: Probably won’t come back. They already got enough of my money

I liked the vibe and set up of this place. I came here for happy hour with some friends on a friday night. I didn’t drink anything or order any food. I did hookah with friends and they had it in a ciroc bottle. I did dance a little but the music wasn’t all that great. I agree with another Unilocaler, the crowd was mixed and some were a little ratchet. There were a few people already drunk at like 9pm. Eww. Around 10, the place was empty. I think that was because happy hour was over and people started to leave. I left around 1030, and the few people that were coming in, they were being charged. 3 stars because the set up was nice. I’d come here again, for happy hour with some girlfriends.

My wife and I went here since they had a good deal on . We got a $ 75 gift certificate for $ 12 so figured why not. Well, that was a mistake. Where to begin with this place… half of the items that we asked for from the menu were«all out,» the food was disgusting, the place was way too dark and the beers were either all out or skunked(how does a beer get skunked at a bar???) They say that happy hour is 2 for 1 drinks but that’s not true. Wine and some beers cost more then they are listed on the menu and the waitress never told us about that though I should mention that our waitress was very nice and seemed to try the best she could. Oh and I went to use the restroom just as our food server was coming out. When I tried to wash my hands they were all out of soap. Apparently that sign that says«Employees must wash hands» is more of a suggestion then a requirement at this establishment. The place is fine for a bar I suppose though the crowds were all over the map. It just doesn’t make sense to me that they offer gift certificates on a restaurant website when they clearly aren’t focusing on the food. The certificate doesn’t exclude alcohol though so it might be a good idea for anyone looking to drink for cheap to pick one up. I suppose we didn’t get food poisoning so things weren’t all bad…

The crowd here is a strange combination of upscale afterwork and ratchet. The music is similarly confused. We were drawn in by the laid back atmosphere and the drink specials. From 4 – 8, beer and wine is 2 for 1. Also margaritas are $ 8(not much of a discount there, but they were DELISH). The wines are barely passable so I’d stick with the beers. Wehad like 5 drinks for $ 26 Not bad at all! I’ll keep this in mind if i am ever in midtown west during the afterwork hours.

Great happy hour special: 2 for 1 drinks and martini specials! The place(okay, it was a Monday night) was pretty dead, but I was there to catch up with friends so it was perfect. The waitress/bartender was super-sweet and very prompt with everything. Pretty spacious back area with a cool ambiance. Nothing overstated. I would definitely go back again :)

I’ve been here several times for the Friday after work party and have always enjoyed my time there, the 2 for 1 drink specials, the people watching, and the good music… It definitely is a go-to spot for a Friday after work situation if you work in that area. My friend put me on to the place as he works about 2 blocks from there. I liked my experiences there so much I decided to invite a few friends there for drinks and good times for my my pre-birthday celebration this past September(I know I’m late with this review!). I purchased the birthday package, and the manager Ray was very attentive and answered emails and my phone calls courteously and in a good turn around time. The day of my party, I was running late due to an issue with the #2 train, but my booth was held for me without an issue. I will say though that the service was pretty bad. A part of my package was a dozen cupcakes and I think I asked for them maybe 10 times before they were finally brought out for my group. A waitress was hard to come by, but it seemed that they were understaffed that night. The waitresses apologized several times and comped my group a round of drinks for our trouble. She also said she would let her manager know about what happened and that I’d get a free dinner or something, and that if I came back another Friday it would be much better. When the bill came, the charge for the party package was not included. I was informed when I booked it that I would settle up that night. I emailed the owner before I left to tell him what happened i.e. the bill and also about the service issues but that the waitresses did their best to accommodate my group. I told him to call me Saturday and I could give my CC info over the phone to pay for the package. On my actual birthday the next day, I received an email from the manager expressing sincere apologies for the service issues I had that night, as he was informed by his staff, and explained that they were short staffed due to a bartender being off that weekend for a wedding, therefore one of the waitresses was covering her spot, and so there were not the usual number of waitresses working the floor. He then said that I didn’t need to pay for the package, that it was the least he could do given the situation. Although the drinks didn’t flow as fast as I would have liked lol I’m giving 4 stars because customer service is everything to me, and I believe it starts with leadership. In my book, if the manager is that accommodating he is hopefully instilling that in his staff as well, which seemed to be the case in my situation. I would definitely go there again the next time I’m in the city after work on a Friday. Would I do a birthday or other celebratory situation there? Sure, but next time I’ll spring for bottle service lol ;)

Seriously??? Seriously!!! This place sucks! Went there last night with a friend and it wasn’t good. 1: the dj doesn’t know how to spin music, I probably heard the same songs 2 or 3 times in the short hours(2) I was there. 2: apparently they hold your credit card at the bar with a minimum to spend of $ 25…I never heard that before… But anyways… the best part was they charge you $ 7 to get your own card back!!! Did I mention it was fairly empty when we got there around 12? I wonder how this place stay open up to 4am!!! People don’t waist your time and your money to go to fashion 40! Oh I almost forgot, no bathroom, yup no bathroom, when ask where the toilet was, the guy told me no bathroom. And I asked him like 4 time because I thought he couldn’t hear me over the loud music…

Ugh! Before I get to why this experience was the total pits for me let me be positive. I had good intentions and high hopes before coming here. We got a recommendation to come here as this was the happening spot. When I see them I have a few choice words for them. So as we walk in the bouncer looks at us and starts to giggle. OK, don’t know what that is about but we go on. The music is good and the drinks are flowing. Out of nowhere, there he is. The man of my dreams. He is about 6’4″, built handsome with a great smile. He comes to where we are sitting, grabs me by the hand and asks to buy me a drink. Thank you Baby Jesus. SO he does, we are talking and I’m smiling from ear to ear. Well around midnight things take a turn for the worse. They play a Danity Kane song, and well that must have been his song. He just couldn’t hold it in, he started booty shaking and I almost threw up. There goes my dream man. Then the techno comes on, and that’s about when i notice there is someone on the ground. ONPURPOSE. She doesn’t have on any shoes and she looks sweaty. Ewwww. She is doing the splits and shaking her head like a maniac. Out the corner of my eye I see someone famous… Its Miss Ceelie from the Color Purple(only not Whoopi. Some girl in Color Purple garb). Thats when we make our exit. The bouncer is laughing hysterically when we came out and said«I thought you knew what you were getting into» WEDIDNT.

Nothing like good music & great happy hour top shelf drinks. Friends and I decided to do HH on a Friday at this spot. We had reservations just so we wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of waiting for one. The finger food was pretty yummy. Just like the drinks. Our waitress was very sweet and lots of fun. She made sure we were well taken care and did a little shimmy with us… LOL! Will definitely come back!

A nice enough looking venue with classy décor & the waitress I spoke to was friendly enough. I was here for a networking event but the one star is for the«grade pending» status in the window. Sorry but«grade pending» means no sale for me. I have this thing about health standards & sanitation. Plus, I don’t like that the organizers of my event refused to post greeters, greet anyone or give any clue as to where their event was. Real classy to leave it up to the employees to tell folks about YOUR networking event. It’s not they don’t have enough to do already; I hope they’re getting decent tips. Then, the people conducting the networking event didn’t even acknowledge me while the waitress who helped me before did. I hope she got decent tips this evening.

Happy Hour with friends is always fun, but when there is a trashy bartender that has an attitude and overtly shows their preference to serve men, the whole establishment goes down with them. I have to give it to Fashion 40, it has good music: Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B and top 40. The crowd is what I would call grown and sexy, the general professionals dressed neatly and presentable. I really did wish there were more seating areas because when it gets packed everyone is standing around in this already narrow Lounge, so it gets a little too cramped. I got my 2 for one Pinot Grigio and was satisfied, but I hope they work on their customer service to patrons.

This is a great venue for happy hour and dancing. I went to a VIP event here and it was okay. The atmosphere is very noisy, club-like. Music selection on point, but can barely have conversations without yelling. And please dress up when you go. One of the few places in the city where every single person was on their fashion A-game(i.e. no jeans).

it was just OK, music was decent and drink prices decent to be a tourist trap, but food prices ridiculously expensive. The place looks great, it has decent décor and not bad to spend a few happy hours there just dont order food if you are tight on $$$. The flavor was excellent just too bad they give you 4 wings when you order a platter. The people seems to come from office near by and girls are good looking, the waitresses are very attentive and always smiling. I will go again but only if im around the area and nothing else to do.
