Great place to sit and have lunch while people watching when its warm out. Alot of special events happen during the summer months.

This is a plaza by my office and it’s home to Madison Square Eats in the summer, interesting art pieces in the fall and winter and lots of flowers in the spring. Sometimes there’s live music and General Assembly holds free workshops on the southern part closer to the actual Flatiron Building. It’s a nice public space that’s kept clean and has a bunch of metal tables and chairs. Good for an outdoor lunch, Vitamin D consumption(a little sun humor) and for people watching… definitely fantastic for people watching as tourists walk around in circles looking for the Flatiron Building, Madison Square Park and Eataly :).

Since Madison Square Eats is not back yet this is just another lame collection of folding chairs over asphalt. I’m so tired of these gathering places for the fanny packers. Eyesore right now. Can’t even eat lunch in peace as tourists keep asking where’s Eataly. Turn around it’s behind you! Calexico sets up here M-F which gives this 3 stars.

Nothing like taking a break smack in the center of traffic and heavily polluted air. The plus side is you’re buffered by giant, weighted planters, which supply ample protection from runaway taxis. I don’t feel as confident if it’s a bus. Flatiron Plaza is not serene, not relaxing, but if finding a spot in Madison Square Park is impossible, head here. In my opinion these pedestrian plazas are a nuisance. Manhattan doesn’t need fewer lanes for traffic.

Not much of a plaza. a decent spot if you wanna be annoyed by suddenly-stopping tourists but kinda useless until ilili box showed up.

Flatiron Plaza is the hosting area for Madison Square Eats. It’s a rather small plaza with some chairs and tables and not really much to see or «admire». However, the plaza has free Wi-fi and it’s fairly a good place to sit and have lunch outside on a gorgeous day if you don’t want to head all the way deep into Madison Square Park just across the plaza.

Tired feet? Hungry? Just had enough? Flatiron Plaza is a good place to have a break just outside the Flatiron building. Not a park, persay, as there’s no greenery, but a piece of concrete with tables, chairs and umbrellas. As I said, nice for a rest.

It’s an asphalt park in the middle of the city. It has tables and chairs, but no shelter if it rains. It has Wi-fi, and you can get your lunch at one of the food trucks in the area and do some people-watching. File under«Cheap Thrills.»
