This is just an FYI: I called them today and this location is CLOSED! I think they’re now on 74 st? Anyway, seriously depressed since I love this place so much.

Hi Unilocal, this place is closed. I was so excited to go here, but as someone else mentioned(I didn’t see it until after the fact), there is a ‘For Sale’ sign in the window. :(

Vegetarian food in Midtown is scarce, so I just want to put out my appreciation for Good Health Burger at the start. It’s a great concept, great menu. I’ve been late-night office dinner delivered from here for years. But another disappointing meal has driven me to a mediocre review. I’ll echo some other reviews: this place has declined in the past few years. The quality of food hurts the most, but it’s also the delivery service. As for the food — it’s fried vegetarian meat, which is great. More please. But the menu’s changed a bit and my favorite sandwich vanished. Ok, that’s not a strike against them. But the weird left turn their quality took is. Everything’s a little overcooked, sauces are skimpy and the sandwiches arrive all messy. My sandwich tonight had a hockey puck of fake meat in the middle of a giant bun full of spinach. Meh. Not at all what it used to be. Delivery kills me though. Tonight’s dinner was stone cold and half hour late. And it’s like that more and more. =P

I love this place simply more because of Maggie and her service. Their food is just as great as their other location on UES. They take card and do not have much room for sitting. This place also does not offer brunch like the other location does. I stop here for the service and closer location. The black bean burger is still my favorite and the sweet potato soup is still the best! I really wish their desserts were something to talk about but they are not. I look forward to stopping by again to try something new, but that Black bean burger keeps calling my name… must resist! I used to carry their menu around with me all the time but then found I had to clean my bag and it had to go… it was beyond recognition… I gave this place five and the other location four due to the difference in service. Maggie made me feel great being there and I was happy to spend my dollar with her and get the same great food. I think that, desserts aside, one would enjoy this place, as it does not only offer something for the vegetarian, but for the non-vegetarian as well.

Got the Tex-Mex Burger which is delicious! It has a soy protein burger that is topped with guacamole(steals the show) and lots of pico de gallo. This is one huge/messy burger, but it is good! It also comes with chips & salsa(it’s not salsa, it tastes like pureed tomatoes). It is a $ 10 burger. The place is very small, can only fit 5 people seating wise. I’m craving this burger as we speak, it’s really good & I will come back again :)

Not what it used to be. A few years ago, Good Health Burger was my favorite place for lunch in Midtown East. Sure, the place looked dingy and the food was priced on the high side, but the delicious, healthier food options were worth it. Then my office moved for a few years and recently returned to this area. I was so excited I could get Good Health Burger again, but, sadly, it went downhill quite a bit. First, the price of everything went up considerably — kinda lame. On my first return, I ordered good health burger deluxe. It was huge and came with yuka fries, but the patty was kind of rubbery and eh. I hoped that was a fluke. The second time, I got a black bean burger that used to be one of my favorites. It was ok, kind of small. Again, the taste was kind of eh. Oddly, it was about half the size of the deluxe burger and came with tortilla chips instead of fries, but cost the same. Finally, several months later I got the tex mex vegan burger, which really had a sloppy joe consistency — not a problem, but would be good to have an accurate description on the menu. The burger was totally cold, but tasted good. However, it came on a generic, cheapo, supermarket refined white flour bun! Who on earth orders from a place called Good Health Burger expecting to get a wonderbread bun? It doesn’t have to be diet food, but at least keep the more nutritious whole grain buns you used to serve! Unfortunately, looks like whoever runs this place now cares about raising prices, but does not put much thought into the quality of the food. Very sad to see a formerly great little lunch place deteriorate like that.

Strangely enough, I was debating between Good Health Burger and Five Guys for lunch today. I opted for GHB and am so glad I did. I got the Good Health Burger Deluxe and the yam fries. The buger was bigger than I thought it would be! The bun was toasted and it was full of yummy toppings. The BBQ sauce makes this burger! Plus, it comes with chips and salsa. The yam fries were delicious. They weren’t very crispy(probably because I did takeout) and were a tad greasy but still very good. I could see that they were actual cuts of yam and not frozen sweet potato fries. If I dined in or didn’t wait as long as I did to eat them, I’m sure they would have been crispier. Definitely a fan! I’m not a vegetarian but this burger was so good I didn’t miss the meat at all! Can also recommend the Zen Box which I’ve had in the past. So far, two thumbs up!

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. At first I was excited because I saw the menus on-line, but I was getting the two«Good Health» places mixed up in my head, so when I saw the actual building I was a little nervous. Not the most attractive place, very small, and looks like it’s only half open. Surprise #1: French Fries. I was in the mood for a burger and fries, but the menus I found on-line did not have fries. However, when I got there the nice lady handed me a menu that had fries(french fries and yam fries) as an additional side for the burgers. Win. Surprise #2: Quinoa. Several things have quinoa and I almost wavered in my decision for the burger and fries, but there’s always next time. Surprise #3: The desserts looked yummy, but I noticed them after I had decided I wanted frozen yogurt. After a few minutes of reading the menu, I ended up with the Black Bean Veggie burger and fries. The burger was pretty good, although instead of quacamole they put slices of avocado on it(it wasn’t a bad thing, just unexpected) and all of the ‘stuff’ on the burger made eating it a little messy. The fries were JUST what I wanted and I’m sure not at all healthy. Very crisp, but not greasy — although I’m sure they also aren’t exactly healthy. The food was good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but they have MANY different types of veggie burgers, a very diverse menu, and reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back.

I walked in knowing i was going to order the Good health Burger deluxe because of the great reviews. I asked if they could replace the patty for a vegan one. The counter lady yelled something to the back kitchen, then told me it was fine. Unfortunately, my burger was soooo soggy. I had to discard the bun and eat it with a fork. On top of that, they gave me a super spicy patty. I’m guessing it was for the spicy texas bbq thing. It was way too hot for me. I feel like the burger would have been good if they didnt use that terrible patty. Ive never been here before so I didn’t realize that was the only vegan burger they had??? Or do they have others… Idk. I told them i didnt want chips and salsa on the side so they gave me a salad with carrot ginger dressing. It was nice in theory, but i wasn’t fond of the dressing. Im mad about fresh and delicious carrot ginger dressing. This dressing was neither. I might come back again if i’m in the area but i’m not going to go out of my way for this place again.

I came here a bit more recently and was not as enamored with my burger. I do believe it was made fresh, but it just didn’t taste like it. It was a bit sponge-y. The bread was also too dense for the size of the patty.

BENTOBOX and JAPANESEBOX lunch specials are great! They each come with a green salad and brown rice. I’ve ordered these many times. CHICKENBASILCURRIED entrée is also very flavorful. BANANAVANILLASUPREME smoothie is tasty. Never went inside, always had orders delivered(accurately = a plus), so no opinion of an on-site experience yet. I’ve yet to try their Mexican platters, lookin forward to it!

One of the best veggie burgers that I’ve had. I had the Tex Mex burger. It was so tasty! However, the side that comes along with it left a lot to be desired. Chips and salsa? For a place that takes pride in fresh, organic, healthy food, the salsa seemed store bought and not impressive. The is more like a take-out spot, since there’s only 4 stools to sit on to eat there. Regardless of the con’s, I’m giving 5 stars for the veggie burger itself!

I had intended to get a veggie burger as they have many types, but I was not interested in the chips and salsa that come with it. Corn chips? Uh. no thanks. Furthermore, I wanted something lighter to eat. I opted for the sweet potato soup which was very tasty. At first the soup didn’t include the rice that is supposed to sit atop. I had to ask the woman who took my order about it. Woman: We ran out… Me: …But it comes with rice. Woman: Would you like us to make some more? Me:…Yes…please. So if I had never said anything I would be stiffed on the rice with no explanation?! Ok so fine, it came a few minutes later and I added it to the soup. Now the soup was complete. The apples and wild rice worked nicely with the sweet potato flavor. It took on a heartier texture. I later ordered fries after tasting how wonderful my friend’s fries were. Nice and crispy! Overall, food was good. One star gone for the mistress of ceremonies for not being so helpful with my questions about the burgers when I arrived AND the initial stiff on the rice sans explanation. Also seating is bootleg. 4 Chairs? They really need to work that out…

GHB really lives up to its name. Here’s why: every time I eat a burger(or anything) from there, I feel light but full. As if I haven’t eaten, but I have sustenance that will last me at least 4 hours. It’s an amazing feeling. Try it out sometime. Initial Reaction: Why is everyone so nice here?! Food: Hands down, the harvest veggies burger, though the soy chik n bacon burger gets rave reviews from friends. Oh and don’t forget the yam fries! Service: Great, considering they’re making it from scratch. Basic rules apply; order ahead, avoid peak lunch hour. Value: Lunch in midtown is $ 10. You save a buck here, go figure. Left Thinking: This has been my mainstay for years, so I don’t remember, but obviously it must’ve been good.

I can say that without a doubt this is the BEST veg burger I have ever had and because I have only had veg burgers I am convinced that it is the best tasting thing of the burger variety EVER! I had the black bean bacon vegan burger and didn’t want it to end. It was super decked out but very compact which may may make no sense so I suggest you try it out and see/eat for yourself! I am not a fan of the prices but how often do I get an 8 dollar burger? Not often and really nothing else will compare to this so why try any other? I’ll reserve my 8 dollar burger-ing to when I happen to be in NYC! Service is OK. The chips and salsa are mediocre but the burger is bangin’!

I order from here 2x a week on Seamless. It’s amazing! If you’re a vegetarian, you owe it to yourself to get the Good Health Wrap. They make tempeh not just appetizing, but delicious. And it’s cheap! I’ve honesty been unable to find any other restaurant in all of Manhattan to offer such delicious and well priced vegetarian options. Curly’s on 14th Street comes close, but that’s about it…

I’m a vegetarian and feel I know a good veggie burger when I see one. I’m a big fan of Houston’s/Hillstone’s veggie burger so it’s getting harder and harder to find other veggie burgers that come close it. But this little(and let me emphasize this place is small) joint is good, VERYGOOD! I had the Tex Mex burger and the patty was home made, served on a whole wheat bun. It’s not only healthy but had some great flavors bursting out of it. My buddy, who incidentally is not a vegetarian, had the black bean chipotle wrap and he didn’t seem to be missing meat at all. Hey Mikey, he likes it!

I’m not veg/vegan, but I really like the burgers here. Recommend the Tex Mex and regular(Deluxe) burgers and yam fries. Almost all the choices are safe(aka: dairy-free) for vegans, or those poor souls who suffer from lactose intolerance! Chicken and fish options, if you take carnivorous friends there. Desserts are okay(banana cream pie, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake). Super small place(only 4 counter seats), but they do take out and delivery(minimum $ 10). Average burger about $ 8.
