The fact is, there are better and worse therapists out there than Dr. Grayson. Personally, I found him to be a disappointment(especially considering his reputation), and a waste of time. Much of our sessions were devoted to doing kinesiology-style exercises that accomplished nothing. Moreover, he often repeats himself, telling you the same stories he’s told you before but doesn’t remember telling you. And when I told him that I was thinking of terminating with him, he accused me of not wanting to get better — which is not only bullshit but it’s a pretty defensive and unhealthy reply for anyone, let alone a therapist! His response actually sealed the deal for me, and I did end up terminating. Again, there are better and worse therapists and of course nobody’s perfect. But I would caution you against seeing Dr. Grayson. As for me, I’ve since found a therapist who seems to be a better fit.
