Called the owner and he managed to come in the next day. Did a thorough inspection and took samples. He returned the results and advised how to move forward. I said I wanted it done asap and he came in two days and did the work perfectly.
Anthony (owner) is a super nice guy, I’d totally recommend him if you’re in need of mold testing or remediation.

These guys are excellent. Knowledgeable, professional, very reliable, and quick! They finished what was supposed to be a two day job (ripping up floors and mold remediation) in a single day despite the fact that the apartment was fully furnished. They were very careful in moving furniture around the apartment and didn’t leave a trace behind them. Anthony, the owner, kept me abreast of progress throughout the day via text and photos (!). He also volunteered to communicate with the floor installation company (unrelated to Habitat) directly to make sure the entire process was seamless. Once the job was completed we discovered a minor leak in the dishwasher plumbing which may have occurred as a result of moving the machine to get to the flooring underneath (its not clear). When I called Anthony to ask for advice, he came over right away, fixed the issue and supplied a new plumbing fixture free of charge, and then came over AGAIN (once again free of charge) after floor installation was completed to make sure the leak fix wasn’t reversed during that process. I highly recommend this company.

you’d think businesses would be falling over themselves when a customer calls in 2011. sent email. left messages.
Habitat Safe Solutions: get initial email response that doesn’t contain the referenced attachment. more email and call to follow up — haven’t heard from them since. follow up email eventually bounced back.
SURPRISINGLY they are not alone in poor follow up. I hate to single them out. all the mold testers I came across on craigslist/​basic web search failed to follow up. I got emails saying we will get back to you with a proposal.
Ångström Mold — replied nicely with emails but encouraged me to pay a person in cash before work was fully completed. just felt like a scenario where «Ångström Mold» was a one man home business using their real job’s resources w/​o employers approval to make an extra buck on the side kind of thing.
Adelex Group, was rude on the phone.
Microecologies® — nice on phone but no follow up.
