I go to many of the locations and never had an issue. Food is still good but service sucks. My card was charged multiple times because their level up app didn’t show I had my card on file. Plus the manager gave me attitude. I thought managers were supposed to be better than that.

Came here after leaving work. I had the balsamic chicken avocado sandwich and a jambalaya soup. I was shocked it was more than $ 11, especially when I saw the portion. The sandwich was not proportionate. The chicken was spread thin and so was the avocado. There was so much bread(focaccia) it overpowered the sandwich. The soup however was delicious and if I returned to this restaurant I would buy this item. In fact, the whole time I was eating it, I thought why did I buy the sandwich!!! This chain also does not have a loyalty program or that’s what I was told.

I have been here a couple of times as this location is close to my job. The seating area is located in the front and in the back is where you order. The lines are almost always crazy unless it’s 90 degree weather: P. The staff is sometimes hit or miss — but the associates that work on the sandwich bar is usually nice. My favorite soup to order is Crab Bisque(it’s rich, creamy and if you are lucky you might end up with a chunk of crab) but it’s on the pricey side.

I’m no competitive eater but I can never understand how one can have just soup for a meal. Unless I eat a whole pot, there’s just no way for soup alone to satisfy this stomach. So instead of a meal, I stopped by hale and hearty for a snack. I need to snack on soup more often! My mushroom barley soup was perfect in every way! Flavour, seasoning, texture, and temperature — it was everything I craved! Paired with warm, crusty 5 grain bread. Wished I was able to order a whole pot to take home! Now that I’m hooked– Can’t wait to return to try out the whole soup menu!

I eat lunch here almost every day because I’m vegan and there are options, and because the soup is really tasty. But today was the last time I will visit this location. 2 weeks ago, I found a large, sharp shard of green plastic in my soup. I called in to warn them to replace the vat so that someone didn’t potentially end up with severed intestines. The girl who answered said«oh, ok». No apology. No «wow, I’m so sorry, I’ll look into that immediately». Just«oh, ok». Yesterday I asked for one tomato basil and one vegetarian split pea since one of my coworkers just had surgery and I got him lunch, too. I got back to work with one tomato basil and one split pea with double bacon. As she was handing it to me, I specifically asked«this is the vegetarian split pea, right»? And she flinched and said«uh, yeah». Pretty sure she clicked right there that she had made a mistake, but chose to let me leave with the dead pig anyway. Today, I asked very clearly for one wild mushroom kale orzo and one tomato basil with rice. Of course, I got a 500 calorie tomato chicken cream something as opposed to a 220 calorie tomato basil. Once again, not vegetarian. The one on 35th and 7th has oranges for gluten free, while this one only has apples. But I think my soup fetish is over now.

Spotlessly clean! Super friendly and helpful staff. Not such a busy location which makes it easy to sit. 3 Lentil soup is delicious and they make super sandwiches. I had the cajun chicken. You can do the half sandwich half soup combo which is a good deal. Perfect for a speedy lunch.

Came here for lunch around noon and the line wasn’t bad at all. they had a good selection of soups and mine tasted pretty good(can’t seem to remember what it was.) I got the soup and sandwich combo and it was a good amount of food for lunch, which I was surprised by(and trust me, I eat a lot). I’d definitely come back here if I’m craving soup for lunch.

Perfect quick lunch spot for your salad, soup and/or sandwich cravings. Not the best or most authentic joint, but definitely A-OK! I enjoyed the Tomato Veggie soup and the Salads are fine. The prices could use some work…4 plus dollars for a tiny soup? Yikes.

Very rarely do I enjoy chain store restaurants and this one is no different. The concept is great — specializing in soup with options of sandwiches and salads. To their credit they do carry a good number of soups daily but the taste has always been average amongst all their variety. I wouldn’t be surprised if the soups were heated up from pre-made/pre-packaged mixes. I know that my office cafeteria carries a line of hale and hearty soups and I know they aren’t making that from scratch. The chicken noodle is your standard chicken noodle. The split pea is decent but very thick. The chicken corn chowder is pretty good — slightly sweet. Tomato basil is healthy but a bit too tangy. All in all decent but hardly the taste of homemade from scratch as they tout it to be. Better than soup from a can but not much better than your avg mass produced and prepackaged soup mixes/recipes. The sandwiches are ok but again nothing special — all premade and out of the fridge cold. The few hot pressed options are served luke warm and not much better. They have all your standard mozz and tomato, chicken cesar, turkey avacado, chicken salad, chicken buffalo, etc. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the location being right near my office.

My coworkers get their soup fix from here everyday. Since I’m always hesitant about trying soups in any establishment, I opted for a half roast beef sandwich with cheddar for lunch! The hearty crew members heated the sandwich up for me but by the time I went back to work, I realized my cheese wasn’t even melted. *womp womp* Let’s just say I know my roast beef pretty damn well and hell, I always love me some roast beef any place /any time. Then why oh did this lunch taste like some shit from a planet I don’t even care to know if it exists? That damn roast beef was either stale or/and expired & that block of cheddar cheese didn’t do noone justice! I took two difficult bites & did a quick 3-pointer shoot from my chair to the trash — & down, down, down disappeared my 4bucks & change. Hallelujah!

Good go-to soup place. So many locations, this one by my work. I get the daily soup menu sent to my email, so no matter what the day is going to bring I know I can always plan for. .. soup. I get their New England Clam Chowder, Chicken Pot Pie, one of their many different chili soups, split pea soup, and a spicy Thai shrimp and rice soup which I recommended to my boss(who is Chinese) and she loved my recommendation(almost never happens)! Clean, not too crowded, during lunch staff from the nearby New York Times building are standing in line. I don’t normally go for the sandwiches or salads, but they are also options. This location is not too crowded, I can always find a place to sit, especially before 1 pm. Good to know I can stop by after working late, when tired and needing something small but good to take home.

Just had lunch here today, and I gotta say, both the Chicken Pot Pie soup and the Clam Chowder were very well executed. The pot pie soup didn’t have any crust in it, but it had a hint of sweetness that just makes it better than all the real chicken pot pies I’ve had. The clam chowder had some pretty meaty pieces of clam, and it had just the right amount of salt. The fact that my tongue isn’t numb afterwards means they don’t use much MSG, if at all, which is good for thought of you who hate that numbing sensation. Five stars all around, definitely will be back. Edit: came back for lunch today. The butternut bourbon tasted really sweet, almost like pumpkin pie. The shrimp bisque was really really good, just the right amount of spicy and sweetness. The crab & tomato was kinda lame. Edit2: Paella was good, jambalaya was lame. Curried shrimp corn chowder tasted like yesterday’s coconut shrimp on rice. Sweet corn chowder was good, so was chicken and corn bisque. The Sweet Potato Chicken Chowder was a little too weird for my tastes,

Soup is the cure to bad colds for me. I stopped by here on a whim during lunch time despite the crazy long line I saw from outside. Although I thought it was going to take forever to get my food, I was actually only on line for a good 5 minutes. They have an excellent system that keeps the lines organized and running! I was very impressed! As of now, I’ve only had their chicken noodle and corn bisque, but both soups were delicious and full of of ingredients with every bite. I also enjoy the large pack of round crackers they give you. Even if you run out of soup, the crackers are still fun to eat on it’s own! My next target is going to be their New English Clam chowder. I hope it won’t disappoint!

Omg omg omg! Its a new location that nobody seems to know about! SCORE! And this one actually shortens my soup fix by about two blocks in either direction. You guys are going to be seeing a lot of me over the next winter! Hale & Hearty is my go-to lunch spot, especially during the cold winter months. I’m a huge soup person. My favorites are the jambalaya, clam chowders, chicken pot pie, and tons of others. I love that the soups change daily and they have a new sandwich every month. It keeps things changing so I can always try new things. They also carry salad if you’re into leafy greens. I’ve only had one thing I wasn’t a fan of here in the many many many times I take out. Its hard to go wrong when they have so many choices and they let you try the soup before you buy. This new location is narrow, spotlessly clean, and actually has more than 5 seats. I think if everyone was polite, you could probably seat 25 people here. I loved sitting by the big window and people watching. I got here at a good time and had virtually no wait, but the horde came in behind me. This location could be a nightmare to navigate if it becomes as popular as the other nearby locations, but for now, things go pretty fast. The staff here are also new though, so do be a bit patient as they work out the kinks.

This is the new Hale and Hearty that opened in Midtown. It’s very spacious and there’s lots of seating. I used to go to the Broadway location, but there’s always a big line there. This location moves very quickly. I’m not a big fan of soup, but I can honestly say that their soup are all delicious. I’ve tried a few different flavors and liked them all. When it comes to soup, Hale and Hearty takes the cake(not sure if that makes sense).

What can I say about Hale and Hearty that hasn’t already been said? This is their newest Midtown location and I’ve been there a lot in the past few weeks(stocked up on the $ 2 coupons they were giving out). I’ve only had the salads but they’ve all been fine. The ingredients are fresh and it’s nice that they chop the salads since that makes it less likely that I’ll make a mess when I eat. I also love the multigrain bread you can get with it. Usually my salad runs around $ 8 which is pretty normal for Midtown Manhattan. The service here is very friendly and the place is always clean. I think people may not know it’s open yet and I’m sure once the summer ends it won’t take long before it’s overrun. Hopefully the quality will stay the same.
