I wandered into Harlem Haberdashery my first night staying in Harlem at about 10pm. I was greeted by Louis, the boutique’s owner and curator.
He was very welcoming, eager to show me around the store, and also told me a bit about the neighbourhood. Besides that, I also purchased a very nice shirt from him.
At Harlem Haberdashery, you will find unique, high quality items. I was pleased with my purchase, as well as the great hospitality I received from Louis.

This place is terrible. It looks really cute but there is really only one of each item in the store. Additionally, the owner or manager person is very rude and thinks that he is above it all. No less than 10 times did he mention all of the celebrities that he ALLEGEDLY makes bespoke suits for. However, there is another very famous tailor, who actually has pictures on his website as the tailor for these same celebrities. hmmmmmmm. I am not sure how this place is staying open, but I suspect it won’t be open much longer as the t Shirts there are 40 dollars and their customer service it terrible at best.

Well that was certainly interesting!
Beautifully decorated and I was so infatuated with the appearance of the Haberdashery that I dont remember much about its merchandise. I noticed a back patio area and was told it could be rented out so long as the event doesnt include fried chicken or potato salad. yep… let that marinate for a minute.
«New Harlem» sure produces some interesting characters and once again, I have no idea who their target demographic is although Im almost certain it isnt me.
