Always a great spot, with good food and excellent service. Breakfast there is also quite pleasant, and much quieter than local alternatives.

While visiting NYC, I came here with a hedge fund Manger friend of mine who is a local! The food was delicious and the atmosphere is kind of see and be seen, but it is very pricy! Thank god my buddy picked up the check but the experience was certainly worth the visit! Reminds me of the old Italian Mobs and their women… :), Good food, recommend if you have the time and the money!

Always good. A classic. Calves livers, carpaccio, the atmosphere, all the same as you want.

It has been quite some time since I’ve encountered a restaurant that lists its prices with dollar signs and decimal points. Cirpirani’s to sometrendyasianfusionplace is what Kate Moss is to instagram models who sell detox teas on their social medias. It doesn’t give you your bill on a wooden puzzle piece, it doesn’t serve its cocktails in mason jars; it doesn’t need gimmicks to sell. I mean I had polenta, as peasant as one gets, and it’s still one of the most memorable dishes i’ve ever had. The !!$ 60! scampis tasted like prawns in butter form. Definitely wouldn’t have gone anywhere else for my Valentines day lunch.

Best authentic Italian restaurant in NYC. Great quality. Cuisine here is from northeastern Italy, so different from What you would usually find in most Italian restaurants

If you’re in the mood for classic Italian fare, this place is great. Nothing fancy, no truffles on the menu. I love this location because it feels old school and intimate. The service is OK. The restaurant was almost empty but the manager insisted we sit at a particular table, not our first choice. But do not leave with out trying the Vanilla Meringue Pie — it is to die for!

We have been to Harry Cipriani restaurant 3 times in the past year. The place is really beautifully designed and the service is prompt and courteous. The food is good, but not great. The drinks with out exception are fantastic and strong. I have had the veal Milanese for my last two dinners. My wife had the $ 30.00 burger last time. The coolest thing is that the bartender called me by name and asked if I wanted my usual Negrone. I don’t know how he remembered me. One star off because of the over the top price for the good by not great food.

As a former New Yorker who faithfully loves this city and celebrates the food and service as world class, I was so thoroughly disappointed by the experience we had tonight. The manager was too busy on her iPhone to recognize that her staff was neglecting to perform basic services like pour wine or take our dessert order. The wait staff looked and served liked zombies who were more worried about getting cut than taking care of customers spending hundreds on wine and food. This place is a disgrace to other world class restaurants in New York offering first class service. The only reason for a second star is the food, which was very good but not worth the service we received.

Loove this place! Best fish in NYC, though the presentation could be a little better. In the end I care more about how the food tastes than looks!

You are definitely paying a premium to think you’re in the«it crowd». Food and service would be 4 stars but not at the prices they are charging. Looking to blow a hundred on lunch and value scene over food quality, this is your spot. #$ 22belinis!

Harry. Harry. Harry. The best part of my meal was the Calamari & beer. Excellent service, although not once did anyone ask me if I liked my meal. My medium rare filet was not med. rare & it wasn’t tasty. My husband & I were so disappointed as he had eaten there before & enjoyed it. When I order a martini I WANT a martini glass & please put vodka in it. Huge $ 300.00 mistake. I’m from Texas and I know what a great steak tastes like.

The place is nice. Very classy upscale. The food didn’t impress me to much the eggplant Parmasian was a little greasy. The ice cream and coffee though it to die for!!! The staff is absolutely Amazing top of the line service. I love the staff. I would go there just for there company. There so pleasant.

An old NYC classic. Probably a far cry now from its hey-day, but you’ll still be side-by-side with celebs enjoying the drinks and atmosphere. The Bellinis are still brought almost by default – so much so that the waiter looked momentarily confused when I ordered a martini instead. The immaculately-dressed servers bark at their colleagues and patrons alike in a jumble of languages(I caught Italian, Spanish, and French). Yet somehow among the noise and chaos and movement, the beautifully laid-out space remains quite relaxing. The prices are as high as you might expect from a place with this history, but don’t get too preoccupied or you’ll miss the spectacle of it all.

The food was good! The service and ambiance is another story. We went to celebrate our anniversary, when we arrived there was no one to greet us and take us to our table. Eventually one of the waiters waved us toward a table and sat us down. It seemed hastily put together as the tables at Cipriani have a white table cloth then another one(I believe it was peach colored) on top. Ours just had the white one. The dress code was not important to them as we arrived wearing nice suits and we saw a few people in shorts and sneakers eating next to us. The waiters bark at you and hardly show a smile and the noise level is ridiculous. The bellinis are as good as one would hope for and the chocolate cake is decadent! over all, I would go with friends for a loud fun night out but I would NEVER recommend this to a couple trying to have a nice quiet romantic dinner out.

Let me start by saying that my prosciutto and melon starter was delicious and was just like being back in Italy, though the presentation was a little iffy. The corn ravioli was also delicious. A simple dish, but it was soft and made my tummy oh-so-happy. But presentation was also a bit iffy. The serving size was also a bit small and after both course I was still hungry. While the food and service was great, the prices were outrageous. For the price, I would expect much better presentation and – I-don’t know – plates made out of gold with a ruby inlay.

Classic restaurant that’s worth A visit but but not worth a special trip. Once upon a time Harry’s Bar was a fun place to go, enjoy a classic Italian meal and occasionally sit in awe as celebrities wondered in and sat down. Now, the food is OK and not good enough to merit the prices. Service is OK. If you are in the area and have money to burn — check it out. There are better Italian places in NYC.

I was so disappointed in this place. After hearing really great things about Cipriani, my boyfriend and I decided to spend a big holiday dinner here. I had my expectations set very high, and that’s why I am so upset. This place might have worked 40 years ago, but they need to update everything, especially the food. It was not like the great Italian food at Babbo. Salmon was served basically raw and the salad I ordered was so bland. The décor in this place seems very old, almost dirty. Staff is okay, not the friendliest. They obviously think their restaurant is much better than it is. Prices are so outrageous too. Sorry, but I’m not going back.

Had dinner here after a 16 yr absence(was last here in 1998.) Was just as yummy as I remember(see my ‘last meal’ in my Unilocal profile.) Was in town for New York Comic Con and had to come back here. Friends and I shared several apps and I had the spinach risotto for dinner. It was delicious. To be clear, I have tried risotto at many, many restaurants and none compare or even come close. It’s a simple meal in ingredients but other restaurants seems to give it no attention and it comes out over-cooked or bland. Or they try and put too much stuff in it and it’s just gross. We had many… many…Bellinis :) Also just as delicious as I remember. And like the risotto — I try these elsewhere and they are never, ever right. We were so full that we did not order dessert. But they brought some lemon cake on the house. Oh my gosh. It was like a bite from a cloud. So, so light. And creamy. And yummy. I wanted to go back the next night just for dessert! Service was fantastic — always there but never intrusive. It was packed but we never lacked for attention. I also like this location as it is not a scene. It’s a nice restaurant. I’ve been to Downtown as well, and the food was great, but I prefer a nicer, calmer, adult dinner environment. I will always go back when I visit NYC. And always recommend.

Fantastic lunch spot in midtown! Why all the mediocre reviews?! This is the perfect spot for a break from shopping. People watching is a sure thing and so is solid Italian food at high prices. I came in for lunch with a regular and followed his lead. We had the artichoke and avocado salad for lunch. I loved it. I will come here for this salad every time I come to New York. The grilled branzino was also wonderful, especially with the lemon caper butter sauce that we asked to be added to it. It came with a side of broccoli that was tender and simply steamed. For dessert, we shared the vanilla meringue cake. Now this is a cake! It was so light and fluffy with a torched merignue topping! Love at first bite. This is a must order. Have a glass of wine, sit back and enjoy!

Note: This is for breakfast only I found myself dressed up in a suit at 10AM one morning this summer after a lecture at the University Club. Since I’m not a professional and don’t work, it’s rare to be all dolled up on a Thursday at 10AM and I couldn’t bear to waste a grown-up outfit/makeup application/hairdo. I decided to take myself out for a beautiful breakfast and finally settled on this branch of the legendary restaurant about 7 blocks from my walkup. The only time I’ve been inside the Sherry Netherland was 2011 for a Christmas party at Doubles. It’s so beautiful! They were serving breakfast only for 20 more minutes and I was one of four people left in the restaurant, so the service was exquisite. The servers in tuxedo jackets were older and so polite and solicitous. I realize Ciprani is known for its high prices and pretension but breakfast is the way to experience this elegant restaurant if you’re on a budget(or not with someone to whom money is no object – at least not for food – which frankly describes a lot of people in Manhattan). I think my omelet, which was excellent with veggies and cheese, plus coffee in elaborate sterling silver set-up with cream and sugar/Equal bowl, and breakfast potatoes(I passed on the toast) came to 19 pre-tip. That’s 5 bucks more than average for omelet, potatoes, toast and coffee anywhere good(and casual) in LA or SB. And to sit in that kind of beauty for an hour or two, I’m happy to pay 5 bucks more. The ceilings are unusually low but the lacquer wood and floor plan evoke an enchanted castle. It’s like a munchkin or goblin or gnome room. I’m mad for beautiful, elegant spaces an regard the opportunity to dwell in beauty(Keats…) as an activity in itself for which I am happy to pay more. I would have fit in so well in the age Edith Wharton or Henry James – provided I had money, of course. Being a scullery maid would so not have worked for me. But being Mildred Theale in Wings of the Dove, minus the terminal illness thing, would have suited me quite well. Being Kate Croy would have been a challenge but I would have negotiated things differently, better, and more ethically than she did(or so I believe).
