Horrible customer service. I placed an order on seamless and decided to walk the five blocks to pick it up, in the rain. Got there, picked it up, but realized they gave me the wrong order when I got back to the office. When I called they said it would take too long for the delivery guy given all the rain. So reluctantly I walked the five blocks again, in the rain, to pick up the order. When I got there they refused to give me the correct order w/o handing over the incorrect order. Now, when I spoke to them on the phone they didn’t make it clear to me that I should bring back the incorrect order. I thought nothing of it, saying to myself, who would eat food that was taken away by a customer and brought back to the restaurant — surely they wouldn’t give it to another customer. When I got there Ponchi(sp?) quickly began raising her voice, calling me stupid for not bringing back the food. Which is insane. I offered to bring the incorrect order back the next time I came to pick up an order(remember this is my second time walking there, in the rain), but Ponchi(sp?) would have none of it. She started slamming the order she was holding for ransom on the counter, and proceeded to explain how much the plastic container and the lids cost(.30 cents), and that she couldn’t give me the correct order w/o the incorrect order in hand(FYI, I spend approx $ 132 per month there). There was no need for the escalation, or the disrespect. In the end I walked out leaving my lunch… for $ 20 it simply isn’t worth it, there are loads of other options nearby.

Our go to for Thai food in the neighborhood. We always get the same thing: veggie drunken noodles and basil fried rice. Both are good. The noodles are fresh and full of bounce! Flavors are on point and they’re also quick. Thai tea could use a little work though it’s sufficient for a quick fix.

I rock the zero on my chest just like the best. 5 stars. The pad Thai is banging Never feel like I’m just dropping dimes. With all this nba tomfoolery going on— gotta go with the newest kid on the block making a scene to be seen(in my mouf). Way more advanced flavor profile than some basic spots locally. Here’s your up up down down B A select(two player mode) start: get the sticky rice w mango and try not to make sticky afterwards from the excitement.

Super delicious and authentic Thai food in the neighborhood! The last few restaurants that were in Herbs’ spot shuttered relatively quickly, but I really hope Herbs is here to stay! There used to be a Chinese dumpling take-out restaurants in Herbs’ place, so when you walk in, you still get a feel for that type of décor. Herbs has done a really good job sprucing it up tho, with chalkboard signs and little rustic additions here and there. Fiancé and I typically order the noodle dishes(Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Drunk Man Noodles — ALLGOOD!) but we did venture out and get the Basil Pork dish, which was superb. Everything we’ve had thus far, we’ve loved! Portions are huge so don’t be turned away by the seemingly high prices. The lychee Thai iced tea is amazing as well! They also serve juices, but let’s be real, once you walk in and get a whiff of the amazing food aroma, you’re not gonna get away with ordering just a juice. This is not really a nice sit down place, so I’d recommend for pick up or delivery, or if you’re a solo diner that wants a quick eat. SOOOO good!

I took out noodles for dinner. When I visited here, no other customer was there, but they were speedy and tasted pretty good. Actually, I don’t like too spicy food, but I could adjust how spicy it was, so I recommend them to people who don’t like spicy dishes.

I really wanted to love this place, since it’s closed to my work and who is not always in the mood for Thai? Plus Sukhumvit 51 — my usual Thai place — always has a line. I ordered the yellow curry chicken and had it for takeaway — paying full price and not realizing that there was a lunch special with the same thing that was cheaper and with a free appetizer. Would have been nice if the staff would have let me know, or else you just end up feeling stupid/tricked. The food was good and the amount decent, but the curry was very watery. Good spices, but no nice creamy flow to it — but rather– just liquid. Disappointing ! However, based on other reviews and pictures I might have gone with the wrong dish. I will be back to try other dishes — not curries. Perhaps I’ll be lucky! The staff were very friendly, and t seems to be family-owned.

Ordered green curry and brown rice from here yesterday. Curry was delicious! Unfortunately the brown rice was WAY under done. I had to eat My curry with brown rice I had cooked previously at home. But again, curry was very authentic tasting and the service as quick.

Good, authentic Thai food is hard to find, and this place is a hidden gem in the heart of mid town. I ordered the Prikking and Phad Thai and both were flavorful and delicious. One important suggestion: pre order on Unilocal for pick up; the que goes out the door.

Absolutely delicious lunch special for an amazing price. Haven’t ordered anything here that wasn’t amazing. The drunk man and pad thai are my favorites. For the drunk man — the mild is still quite spicy so watch out! Definitely go for the fried wontons for the side. The rest of that dipping sauce should go in your noodles which is BOMB. Dreading the day when all of midtown finds out about this place and I have to wait longer for 10 minutes for my food :(Bottom line: one of my favorite places for lunch and I come here religiously.

Let me preface this by saying that this is my first ever negative review. Bottom Line, I was served UNDERCOOKED/RAW CHICKEN today for lunch and was appalled by the way I was treated when I brought it to the restaurants attention — for something that should have been undebatable. I ordered the Roti Wrap with grilled chicken satay. After returning to my office and taking my first bite I realized that the chicken was pink and completely under cooked. After asking a few of my coworkers to confirm the obvious, I attempted to call Herbs Thai Bistro with no answer. I then walked back to the restaurant expecting to get my order replaced, no problem. I was wrong. I go up to the counter and calmly tell the cashier that my chicken is undercooked/raw. While I am explaining the situation to the cashier, the cook(owner I believe) storms up and proceeds to aggressively tell me that it is «red chicken»(???) over and over. Once I realize that by «red chicken» she means dark meat… I continue to tell her that I obviously know what COOKED dark meat looks like and that is NOT what I received. She never even opened the food to see that it was obviously undercooked! By now I understandably do not want to eat chicken from here, and ask if I can just get a Roti Wrap with curry potato. After waiting 15 more minutes, for a potato dish, I go up to the counter again and ask if it is almost ready. It wasn’t and it seemed like they had not even started making it. I then asked if I could just get my money back but was told that refunds are against their policy. After waiting a few more minutes, I received my lunch but did not trust to even eat it. I went to another restaurant and ordered something else. What a waste of time and money! I was never met with any sort of apology. I will never return to this establishment and recommend that you do the same.

Lunch delivery review: I usually order from Rhong Tiam or Sukhumvit. Sukhumvit is off my rotation after the last drunk man noodles being practically inedible from the overwhelming oiliness. Rhong Tiam is pricey for lunch, as they don’t have lunch specials. So I gave this place a try and ordered their drunk man noodles. The food was 3 stars– lacks flavor. BUT in light of the price and delivery time(less than an hour), I’m giving it 4 stars. I’ll try other dishes– pad thai is up next. I didn’t get the loyalty card since I ordered online– next time I’ll ask for one!

It’s better than you would expect from a place this cheap in Midtown East. It’s also authentic, if you care about that. Lunch specials basically mean you get a free appetizer, $ 9.50, 11−3pm Sukhumvit 51 might be slightly better. Both are excellent choices for lunch.

Great Thai option in Midtown Had my co-workers show me this spot for lunch. They have an extensive selection of the typical Thai food. They offer a few lunch specials, yeah buddy specials. I went with the Thai Dumpling to start and Padthai with Chicken for the main. Both were tasty and I’m looking forward to coming back here for another lunch visit.

I love this new thai place that opened up a few months ago! There is not much seating to be had — maybe about 3 – 4 stools so that you can order and eat right there but they are super efficient and fast if you are taking out. You can also order them on Seamless if you are within the delivery area. They have the standard thai fare as well as some really yummy roti + red curry sauce which we ALWAYS order because the roti is light and fluffy and the red curry dipping sauce is divine. The drunk man noodles are a favorite in our house as well as the thai basil with chicken. They can make it as spicy or mild as you wish and are very accomodating in terms of ingredients you may want to substitute. They also have a loyalty card if you do a lot of take out like we do — after 6 entrees, you get a free appetizer which is always nice! I highly recommend this place for good quality thai food!

I am definitely a fan! Delicious Thai food in Midtown East near the UN. The lunch specials are a great amount of food for a very good price. The pad thai is excellent. I love the shrimp pad Thai, and I usually get that with two chicken-shrimp dumplings. I can’t wait to try the Massaman curry and the beef bowl. I am, however, very disappointed with the roti. It is delicious, and they sell it with different dipping sauces — at $ 6 for a roti a little bigger than a Thomas’ English muffin. You can also get desserts like roti with condensed milk. I bet it’s delish, but for $ 8, knowing how small the roti is, I haven’t tried it. I had a roti«burrito» today with chickpea and potato curry. The hot of the curry was very nicely balanced with the carrots and lettuce. But it was very, very small, like taco size, and $ 6. No, there was no meat inside. Other desserts include such staples as Mango with Sticky Rice, but also smoothies and juices using fresh and imaginative ingredients. I look forward to getting my lunch there, but can’t afford to go very often. Maybe if they priced everything at $ 1 less.

They are new, prompt, and yummy. Their medium shrimp basil fried rice is spicy enough and delicious, filled with a rich aroma and fresh herbs. Their shrimp/chicken dumpling is good too. They were quick and ready with my order when I arrived. Inside is very small and seats about 5 – 8 people. There was a crowd inside waiting for pick-up, it’s a hit! One of the better Thai spots in the neighborhood :) Oh and drinks are $ 4, the shrimp fried rice came up to $ 11 – 12 for me.

I happened to be in the area for work and noticed the crowd of people in this place. I’m glad I decided to check it out. I ordered a lunch special: chicken in red curry with rice, which comes with a spring roll. The spring roll was very nice. The chicken was great and the red curry had a wonderful spicy kick. The green beans were well-cooked, but firm. I don’t like overcooked, mushy veggies, so this was perfect for me. The other veggies were also nice and mixed well with the meal. The place has some stools for sitting, but I’d recommend it more as a take-out place. My office is a bit away, so I decided to stay. Thankfully, most of the people were having take-out orders, and I easily found a spot. While the place was crowded, the people working there were reasonably efficient and our waits weren’t long. The woman at the cash register was also very nice and answered my questions about the menu. Speaking of the menu, I saw many things that I wan’t to try in the future, such as a salad with Peking duck. The Nutella roti sounded intriguing on its own, but the good Unilocal reviews also make me want to try it in the future. If you work in this area, I’d definitely recommend coming here and taking it out. As for me, I definitely plan to schlep out to this place when I have the urge for Thai food.

This was an unexpected find while looking for a Thai place to eat for lunch near grand central. And this is quick, easy, and very delicious. I like that they made Thai food easy with some more trendy and yummy options. I opted for the thai street food style with basil chicken. This is basically basil chicken over rice which comes with half of a boiled egg, one thai spring roll, and a little salad. It was awesome! Never saw this option before anywhere else either and I loved the fact that I got to eat a little bit of everything. What’s more, it’s filling! I saw they had Roti wraps too and that sounded really interesting… definitely will try if I’m back next time.

I was trying to find Teriyaki Boy on 2nd avenue, but unfortunately, couldn’t come across it. Herbs looked like a pretty chic place, so I decided to stop in. It was pretty empty around 1:30, since this appears to be the type of place to just order and leave. There’s a couple of seats bar-style, but overall it’s very small. I had their lunch special which includes a rice/noodle dish and an appetizer. For my appetizer, I had their dumplings and for the main, I had to go with shrimp pad thai. Came out to about $ 13, but I see their shrimp pad thai would usually go for $ 15, so I didn’t feel bad about going over the $ 10 that most people look for when going for a midtown lunch. There was maybe only one other person waiting for their lunch, but it was prepared fresh — so waited about 15 minutes. There were large pieces of shrimp and peanuts in the pad thai, which I absolutely loved. It was delicious and flavorful, but a bit spicy(I have a very spice-sensitive tongue, so it was a bit much for me, although I’m sure for anyone else it would have been fine). The dumplings were also really good, I believe they were shrimp and chicken. Herb also has salad, roti, and smoothie options, although I haven’t tried it yet. This place is super cute and would definitely recommend for pad thai if you were in the area.
