Rip off not much to say just another expensive dive bar with a gimmick. Not impressed with sports teams the place posts up

Friendly staff and great service. Sat at the bar with a view of 1st Ave and had a few cold ones while people watching(A New York thing). This is my go to spot to just relax, have good convos and drink a few cold ones. The food is great too.

Came here on New Years Eve. Bartender was more focused on having fun at the bar then serving people drinks. I told people to get two drinks at once to save their time. I know it’s New Years, but the open bar is two hours. Three drinks in two hours — yikes! Wasn’t worth then open bar!

Have you ever been craving waffles? Of course, now let me ask you this, have you ever been craving a burger at the exact same time? Well you’re in luck as The(very exclusive) Honky Tonk Tavern offers just that. Now, I know what you’re thinking… A waffle burger sounds disgusting. Well, you’re right, kind of. This aggressively mediocre pairing of waffle and burger leaves your taste buds confused and desiring more(or less)? Is this a waffle? Is this a burger? Back & forth, your mind will wonder throughout the meal. Good atmosphere and nice bar staff.

This is one of my neighborhood go to HH spots. Margaritas are always on point. Laid back atmosphere. Friendly bartenders. And ohhhh their fried pickles. :)

I love this bar. It’s not a bar I would travel to but if you live in the neighborhood this is definately a great spot. They have cheap drinks(including $ 5 margs) and pretty solid bar food. It is a total dive and reminds me of a bar you would find in Texas. My room mate and I come here on Thursdays to watch football. The bartenders are always pleasant and this spot is always a good time.

I actually did end up coming back here for happy hour and was not disappointed. Their $ 5 margaritas are great and the bartender is such a sweetheart. Definitely check this spot out if you’re in the area.

Came off a flight looking for the comfort of a country bar where I could listen to some country music and have a few beers. Looked this spot up on Unilocal and walked from the other side of Central Park. Great décor. Particularly liked the lights on the ceiling and Big Buck Hunter. The menu carried some truly comforting staples. There’s also shiner bock in the cooler. Sadly perhaps at the mercy of the automated juke box there was no country music. It just wasn’t the same with Pink Floyd and the Dave Matthews Band. Of course it was a bit misguided to come to Manhattan for country music. With adjusted expectations it was a pleasant experience.

Bad experience in this establishment. Drunk racist women customer expressed her hatred for Hispanic and black peoples, Lacy the bar maid asked me to leave permanently. This past Friday, the bar maid did not want to listen to my side of the story. They don’t have to worry I will never enter this RACIST!!! establishment again. The owner should know what type of worker he have working for him!

LUNCHTIMEREVIEW Quiet, empty, but that’s expected of a bar around lunchtime. Had the brisket sandwich, which was delicious. The fries were just so-so. Everything is well-priced and the service is good and quick. Will stop by again!

Walk in before 7 and order the frozen marg on happy hour(after waiting a bit for a bar tender to take my order). Wait several min and then drink is brought out. I confirm the HH pricing as now it is 7:02. I’m told happy hour is over and that that he simply pushes buttons. Had I ordered after 7, I could maybe see but seeing that I ordered before 7 and they waited some time before bringing my drink(and to take my order)… Yeah no… Lame. Irritating and a way to not keep customers. I guess they should reevaluate their button system.

Just a bar, but Baker Street Pub is way better. This place is too narrow and weirdly positioned. Came on Halloween and it was packed– but not the good type of «packed” — I could sit down in the back but I could barely maneuver by the bar, which has an approximate two person width between it and the wall.

This place does a top notch job. Great atmosphere, really good music, solid drinks and specials($ 15 Narragansett bucks and $ 5 margaritas… spectacular) and pretty good bar food. I love the country music and southern theme and they have a fair amount of TV’s. Only negative was they didn’t have the Mets game on(Friday in August during a pennant race) and instead had women’s softball that nobody was watching. The waitress put the game on as soon as I asked, so no harm, no foul… just a pet peeve of mine, though.

GREATBBQMIXEDPLATE! GREATBBQMIXEDPLATE! GREATBBQMIXEDPLATE! Oh, did I mention they have a great BBQ Mixed plate? We ordered three. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, wow! Sweet with a pinch of spice. Great staff and waiters too. The loss of star was because of reservations(and– when we were there at least– a decidedly NON-HONKYTONK jukebox.) I called to make reservation, but when I got there«sorry, there’s no record of a reservation for you.»(Note to self: when calling, GET A NAME!). But they found us a nice table in the corner, and there were fewer of us than expected. The manager came over several times to check on us… and was super apologetic for the reservation problem. We’ll come back. PS Get the mixed BBQ plate –Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers, a different bar every week.

This place is great if you are looking for your perfect neighborhood bar with well priced specials, great service, and above average food. I always feel welcomed at this bar and a special thanks to Mike snd Daniel for always taking the time to do so. Thankful to have the honky in my neck of the woods.

I found this place and totally fell in love with the country ambiance. The outstanding bartending keeps me coming back. Dylan and Michael are incredible bartenders. My first night there, Michael showed me an app for the jukebox so I can play songs from the jukebox without getting up and potentially losing my seat in the process. An app I used on my next trip, turning Dylan onto new country songs lol! I went last Saturday after having a rough start to my weekend. Both Michael and Dylan know I usually do Guinness and a seltzer in between. I walked in and Dylan asked me «Guinness or club soda?». After my first Guinness, I found a seat where Michael was working. He asked me if I wanted another Guinness. I told him I’d go in between with a seltzer. He told me «I figured you’d say that» and he handed me an already made seltzer, all ready for me When you’re having a rough day, it’s the little things that are the most touching. They’re really sweet guys & great to talk to Needless to say, I’m slowly becoming a serious regular here

Kind of shocked that people come here to eat — looks like a straight up dive bar with a good crowd. Went there before dinner at Sushi Seki across the street to burn through some wait time, and ended up getting a bit tipsy here! Their drinks are VERY strong and their $ 5 margarita can’t be beat in price! It was Memorial Day weekend last weekend, and it was almost empty, but for the full bar. People started coming in and sitting in the back, which is when I first realized that people actually did come here to eat! The dining area seemed divey as well, but it didn’t look unhygienic. We smelt a whiff of someone smoking weed outside, as the windows were all open. Everyone clapped and started to sing along with the juke box — country music’s not my thing, but for a dive bar, it’s the perfect crowd pleaser. The bartender seemed attentive and smiled a lot — great attitude!

A great bar for Patriots fans during football season! Get there early for a seat at the bar. My friend ordered the wings and they are garlicky and the sauce was absolutely amazing. I ordered the nachos and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. It was smothered very well in cheese, guacamole, meat, and beans. There are many TVs in here, but they reserve the big one in the center of the bar for the Pats game. Bartenders are friendly though service can be slow when it gets crowded(hence the 4 star) I find it kind of strange that people bring their children here because of the amount of alcohol that gets served on Sundays.

If you are in the mood for a place where you can get that country feel while enjoying some BBQ or Tex-Mex, give this place a try. A few people in my group got the salads, and everyone had positive feedback. What was nice was it was pretty customizable to choose what kind of protein you wanted in it. Also, they came in a nice crispy taco shell. I got the BBQ sampler(Pulled Pork, Brisket, Wings, & Ribs with a side of Cole slaw and Cornbread). If I could do it again, stick to just the ribs. The wings were good too so maybe get it for an appetizer, but there was nothing special about the pork or brisket. Also, what was pretty surprising was despite having a good amount of beer to choose from and a decent sized liquor menu, there really weren’t any southern-style cocktails anywhere. Even as simple as a sweet tea cocktail wasn’t listed, so just a little surprising. The service was very pleasant and attentive. I’d come back for the country music and the ribs.

Stopped by here with some classmates for drinks, cheap eats, and a World Cup game that no one cared about after a day at work. We ordered an assortment of not-so-good-for-you foods: an appetizer sampler, hot dogs, the mac and cheese. Every thing was pretty much what you’d expect for bar food. The hot dog really hit the spot for me, though I would have to agree with Christopher C. on the mac and cheese — it was a bit lackluster. We were able to keep our table for a long time. Our waitress was attentive and good at asking about drink refills. We also scored an accidental free drink, which is always a plus. Overall, I’d probably come back here if I was in the area for some casual eats and drinks and mildly important sports games with friends.
