I love using the Idealist website so I was not going to pass up the opportunity to visit their NYC office for a preview of the new initiative they’re launching globally on March 11th to promote volunteerism. The staff was friendly, I even met the Executive Founder, Ami Dar, who was so down-to-earth. The floor plan to the office is simple, designed to stimulate staff collaboration and open communication. I liked it, felt casual to me. It did not feel like they were trying too hard, which would be contrary to their identity. The kitchen is small and the presentation room is moderately-sized. So I’m assuming the NYC staff is small which mirrors the tone of the organization. The thought of working for Idealist did cross my mind.
