I believe that this location is closed — not sure how to report this. Pity. Our favorite Pad Thai in the area…

In the battle between Inwood and Tung, Inwood wins for: Salads, curries(khao soi!), desserts, appetizers, iced coffee Tung: Spicy potatoes, drunken noodles/pad kee mao, Both are very serviceable.

Whoops — tried to update my review and replaced it entirely. Upshot of my first review a year ago: This is awesome, _authentic_Thai food made by Thai people. Not fusion or imitation Thai food. Every bit as good as any place downtown. Update: After a year of ordering from here pretty regularly this place is still great. We’ve been all over the menu and haven’t had anything that wasn’t delicious yet. The only gripe with this place is that they seem to leave items out of orders accidentally more often than most places — it’s smart to check your order before leaving. But the food is first rate every time.

Something is going down at this place. I supported this place as long as I could, but it is not just consistent at all. It’s so sad because I live so close and got to know some of servers. They usually fix things when I complain, but I don’t want to complain nor risking another going back and forth. I am sure the main chef was originally good, but they are failing to train their cooks and front people. I would still try their food, but I hope the management would get their act together and do better. Please don’t sink!!!

I’m not sure which animal the beef comes from, but it definitely did not moo in the past life. Perhaps one is safer with their vegetarian dishes…

A year ago, I would have given this place 3 stars. I have gotten delivery from this establishment several times and they have been«adequate». The curry was always pretty inconsistent in terms of texture and the noodles are sometimes amazing and sometimes dry and disgusting This last order, however, will be my last. After calling to place an order, I waited an hour and fifteen minutes before calling to see what was taking so long. After 5 minutes of trying to convince the lady that I wasn’t placing a new order, she finally understood that I was calling to check on an existing order. She than told me that my order was never given to the chef and asked me if i wanted to cancel it(not if I wanted it, if I wanted to cancel it). I said no I wanted it but it needed to be here ASAP. She then offered to comp the order to which I agreed. When the food arrived, the order was indeed not comped. She apparently gave me her staff discount(which was 5 bucks off). I tried to tell that to the delivery guy but he just looked confused and I didn’t want to stick him with the bill. I was in a hurry and starving so I paid the delivery guy and pulled out the food. The green curry was DISGUSTING. There was half an inch of oil and grease floating on top. Trying to mix it in with the coconut milk looked like trying to mix water and motor oil. I am a vegetarian and my noodle dish did indeed have tofu, but it also had TONS of chicken. And to top it off, the coke I ordered was a diet coke. So out of the three things I ordered, I could consume none of it. Save yourself the trouble and order from Yummy Thai. It’s a few bucks more but well worth avoiding this place.

Delivery Review: Wow, that was TERRIBLE!!! I wouldn’t even give it one star. + the delivery guy was friendly + food came w/in 40 min — the RICE was UNDERCOOKED and CRUNCHY(??? This is an ASIANRESTAURANT, HOW is this THIS wrong???) — the«chive pancake» was a GIANTSATURATEDOILYGLOB. In a ball. With chives. — the curry was 94% liquid; 6% vegetables and beef — the vegetables in the curry were 94% bamboo shoots, and 6% other — the pad see ew with vegetables had BARELY any vegetables in it. And a few noodles. — we ordered two dishes and an app, both«mildly spicy» so it’s shareable.(I LOVE spicy food and grew up with it, so I generally order«very spicy» and love it.”) These two dishes were SOINEDIBLYHOT that my friend couldn’t eat it. I could barely. –I ate most of the food, and AMSTILLHUNGRY. This is ridiculous.(I’m someone who generally eats about 1/3−2/3rd of a portion when«out» and eats the rest the next day.) I wasn’t expecting much at all, but this has severely disappointed me. I’m still astonished that the rice was undercooked and crunchy, and that I need another meal. Even with the 20% coupon, I feel like this was a complete waste. Someone please feed me.

Used to be the pizza place back in the day. Took me a while to order from here, because i was still salty about that pizza place closing! ha Anyhow, ordered from Seamless. Food came pretty quickly during the estimated time frame of 45 minutes. I ordered the Pad Thai. It was good. A little bit on the dry side, but it was a large portion with tons of noodles. Things were packed very well(padthai, springroll appetizer and thai iced tea). I’d order from here again.

As a relatively new Inwood resident, I’ve fallen in love with Yummy Thai. I enjoy eating in, as it has great food, great staff, and a wonderful ambiance. Their take-out, however, can be a bit hit or miss on occasion, such as giving me tofu instead of chicken. I’ve known Inwood Thai has existed for a few months; the beau and I decided to give it a try one evening, just to switch things up. My back was out(…so this is 30…) and I didn’t feel like walking three blocks away to sit down, so we ordered in. Ehhhh… I placed the order on Seamless at 5:51 p.m. The confirmation e-mail came at 6:15 p.m. The food arrived at 7:36 p.m. Rewinding to 7:30, we called them just to check in on our food, to which we were put on hold for a bit and got a relatively curt response that it was on the way. The beau got Thai Fried Rice with chicken, and I got Pad Thai with chicken. We also got vegetable dumplings. Said dumplings were ice cold. The Thai Fried Rice was average. My Pad Thai… I could not finish. It was totally dry. There was no sauce in it; if there was, it was absorbed by the noodles in waiting and /or in transit to my apartment. Adding soy sauce and lime juice did nothing. I could not even finish it. It was unpalatable. It’s times like this where I hate how nice I am and tip 20% on Seamless regardless. The wait coupled with the poor quality of the delivered food made me pretty bummed. Glad one of my roommates made chocolate chip cookies. Those ended up being a much better dinner, sadly. Hell, I should have order from my old neighborhood Thai place in WaHi, Bangkok Heights. I would have been so much happier. I’m not ready to count them out… yet. I’d be curious to try their food in their restaurant to see any differences. If I ever do, I’ll update this review. Here is hoping a sit-down experience is better. We shall see…

The food was standard Thai but the portion size of the side of rice was very small. I’ve ordered from three other places, and at the same price point, I got half as much. Also, the delivery time(an hour and 45 minutes) was excessive.

The pad Thai from here was the most dry and flavorless I’ve ever had. It was as if they find some old noodles and threw them in a bowl with a couple of old pieces of chicken. The spring rolls are good and the pad priew won is ok if you must order from here, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Very disappointed.

I would give this a 3.5. We ordered delivery and got the red curry chicken and Pad Pak Ruam(the stir fry mixed veggie entrée). The food was good. The red curry had a nice spice to it, but wasn’t the most flavorful. The stir fry veggies were ok. We got it with brown rice that was well-prepared. Delivery was fast. I wouldn’t say this is the best Thai in New York City, but I would order this again, especially if you live in Inwood/Washington Heights area.

This food is delicious and extremely well priced. I recommend trying the baked taro cake, which is ridiculously delicious and comes with a scoop of really good ice cream. I both eat in and order delivery from them all the time now, and I’m so excited they’re here.

Great Thai food option uptown. Clean and cute atmosphere compared to other in wood locations. I can’t wait to come back! The boyfriend and I took a stroll up to this little diamond in the rough and couldn’t be happier to welcome Inwood Thai into the neighborhood. We should have shared an entrée the portions were so big and the flavors so rich! The service was also GREAT!!! Our server was attentive and everything was a classy presentation. Run to this restaurant, I guarantee you will be hobbling out with full tummys.

We are sticking to Yummy Thai. It’s not like we have that much choice here in Inwood. Oh.how I miss Joya in Brooklyn.:( Chicken satay was like gnawing on card boards, Pad See Ew was blah. Pineapple Red Curry was ridiculously watery, which I will post here. Very disappointed. But to be fair, the delivery was fast~ Edit: Totally giving up on Thai food in Inwood. Yummy Thai should also feel ashamed of themselves for serving constant horrible Thai food.

So I started off by writing a not-so-fantastic review for Inwood Thai after they served me food that a lady had already dipped into. Then, I tried them a couple of more times and they were pretty good and the food was well-prepared and tasted fresh, so I updated my review. Then, another time I ate there and the food was not very tasty. And now, the food was just plain bad. The noodles were overcooked, the vegetables were NOT fresh ATALL and rather gross in appearance and taste. The chicken was dry and crumbly. Three«meh-to-yuck» experiences and three«good» do not amount to a restaurant that I will visit again. IT is just too hit-or-miss. Slightly cruddy service or late delivery I can deal with, but food that looks and tastes pretty bad? Methinks not.

Was expecting a much better experience here based on the reviews but the Pad Thai was very fair. It had way too much oyster/fish sauce for my liking. especially since I ordered chicken pad Thai. It was an authentic Thai flavor but with too much fish sauce if that makes any sense. Try something else in the area but dont run to this place :)

I am in the same boat as a couple of other users here. This is what happened a freezing cold Friday night. 8:20PM — Placed and order with Inwood Thai on Grubhub. 8:50PM — Received a call saying that one thing we ordered was unavailable. 9:30PM — The latest estimated time for delivery comes and goes. 9:45PM — I place my first call asking on the status of my order. Am assured that it is on the way. 10:15PM — Attempted a second call asking on the order. Get only busy tones. 10:20PM — I live one block and have waited 2HOURS for my order. I venture out into the cold to walk to the restaurant to pick up my order. When I arrived, my order was sitting on a shelf in the kitchen. I spoke with someone who is supposedly the owner or manager or someone in a place of authority and was told that the food was on the house, and was asked if I would like a refund or restaurant credit for the next time I went. After having been treated so poorly, it was questionable as to whether there was going to be a next time so I asked for a refund. It is now 2 weeks later, and I have not received that refund, and thus any chance that I would go back has disappeared. It’s such a shame as the food is better than the other option for Thai in the neighborhood. I guess this means that we will continue to go out of the neighborhood for our Thai fix.

Despite it being Chinese New Year’s Eve, I thought I’d cheat on my heritage and have a go with Inwood Thai. It’s just that I’m not the biggest fan of the Chinese cuisine options around Inwood. So I just ordered delivery through GrubHub despite some prior reviews about the delays. My order came twenty minutes before the estimated time, delivered by a nice delivery guy. The stars had aligned in my favour, halle-frikkin-lujah!, unlike earlier when I couldn’t board the goddamn train because it was too goddamn packed. This turned my night around. So the food: Kanom Jeeb(open-faced pork and shrimp dumplings): I got them steamed and they’re quite filling and tasty. Yummy Thai makes these, too, but they put garlic oil on top which comes out bitter because of the way they fry them. These came without that oil. Som Tum Thai salad(shredded papaya salad) turned out too salty for me. I think YT’s was also salty. Maybe I’m just sensitive to large quantities of fish sauce. Or maybe these places just overdo the fish sauce. Pad Thai with Beef: AWESOME. Listen, they actually fill that round container up to the brim with this dish, and every bite I took had a piece of beef in it. And the beef was tender. What more could I possibly want??? And, the silver lining is that their prices are a few bucks(or a lot, in some cases) less than Yummy Thai. My Pad Thai was two dollars less than YT, and it came DOUBLE the quantity. Now I’m going to nurse this food coma. Oh, and I’m giving it five stars because it IS as good as it gets in Inwood.
