Josh and his associates are some of the finest brass repairmen in the world, and once you get to know them you’ll feel like part of the family (for instance, he knows I like mt. vernon– early elkhart era bachs, and always has a few for me to try out when I stop in). Prices are reasonable and they have an amazing selection of vintage and modern horns that anyone can try. Plus they have a good selection of exclusive Adams trumpets and Trent Austin mouthpieces. If you’re a brass man or lady don’t miss it.
Josh didn’t even charge me for the large dent I put in the Dizzy Martin committee trumpet’s bell!

This is THE trumpet shop. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you are in NYC. The stock is incredible and his trumpet collection is top notch. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Also, Josh Landress is quick and very knowledgeable to help get you what you need. Can’t wait to get back to NYC.

Incredible. Trumpet museum, sales and service — all in one location. This is the Mecca of NY brass. If you are a beginner like me, don’t be discouraged by the expensive pro-​trumpets they have on the website. I bought an incredible student horn from the 60s at a very fair price there.

Thank goodness for Josh Landress! New York City has needed a guy like him for years. I would trust Josh with anything from the biggest job down to the smallest– he is a true professional. Not to mention, an incredibly nice person. His shop is so fun to look around, and is very conveniently located. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

I have trusted Josh with all of my trumpet repairs for years now. He is always there with a warm hello when I come to his shop, and often if I only have a minor issue he fixes it on the spot while I wait. In addition, every time I stop by his sizable selection of beautiful new and vintage horns seems to increase.

I have been playing and having my horns fixed for 25 years. I can say without reservation that josh is the best technician I have ever worked with. I took him my New York Bach after taking it somewhere else and was unhappy with their service. Now i have my old horn playing and looking like new again! He is honest, open and is a great resource for all things trumpets. I am so excited to have finally found someone to trust with my most prized possessions! Make sure to ask to try his custom horns while you are there and enjoy the incredible array of vintage horns he has!

Seriously. Nobody is better than Josh Landress. He is the ONLY guy I go to for repairs, and sometimes I just pop in for a hug and hello! He has an impressive collection of instruments and doodads as well. And, he’s an amazing person. Definitely go check him out! You won’t regret it.

Josh is one of the best brass-​instrument (musical instruments) repair guy in the NYC area, perhaps the USA! He also sells collectible instruments and mouthpieces, as well as new mouthpieces and instruments. He does everything from full restorations to minor repairs. He owns museum quality collectables including one of Miles Davis’ mouthpieces, the oldest surviving Bach mouthpiece, and countless French Besson and Bach trumpets from the early 1900s.
