Who gave this«doctor» 5 stars. She is a butcher and should be mentioned in Guinness world of records as a worst dermatologist I do not know how can she even get 1 star. 5 Stars are 100% Fake.

I have been going to Dr. Jane Taylor for several years for my severe problem skin. I always feel welcomed and comfortable in the office. She would always find a way to fit me into her schedule(as I travel a lot and my schedule is always changing). Through the years my skin has greatly improved and she changed the way how I feel about myself and appearance. I have also started seeing the office esthetician, Michele Mcvicar, for regular peels. She too understands my hectic schedule and is always attentive to my needs. The peels have given me a glow that other people notice. The office itself can use some ambience though… but the people inside make up for it. –e

I haven’t had the frustrating experiences the other reviewers indicated — in fact, I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen — but I sometimes I did feel I was being milked for cash. Dr. Taylor did skin extractions on me(AKA professional pimple popping), but after 5 minutes or so would say, «OK, now we’re going to save the rest for next time.» Each skin extraction session had $ 100 co-pay on top of insurance, so I would have preferred to just get it all done in one session. With that caveat, I will say that this is the best my skin has ever looked, and the extractions as well as the rest of the creams she prescribed really did a great job. Fun fact: Dr. Taylor initially trained as a dentist, then went back to become an MD. So maybe that explains some of the weird, standoffish bedside manner.

I looked at the Unilocal for Dr. Taylor because I was going to refer someone to her. I am surprised by the negative reviews. Dr. Taylor may not be the most warm and fuzzy doctor but she is good. She caught a very small spot of melanoma on me a few years ago and I will forever be greatful. She is the most conscientious dermatologist I have been to and really studies my skin for changes during my check ups.

I have visited Dr Taylor for regular skin exams for 7 years and highly recommend her. As a person prone to skin cancer, I’m appreciative of her attention to detail during routine exams and her willingness to address even minor skins concerns. She has the intensity of a skilled physician who knows her shit, but has always been friendly! Most importantly, she only biopsies when necessary. I’ve visited my share of dermatologists who are quick to lop off anything on a whim — I’m glad to say those days are behind me!

I thought Doctor Taylor was a great doctor. The problem is that she leaves you waiting in the waiting room 45 minutes to an hour most visits past your appointment time. This is NYC. Time is money. All my other doctors see me within 10 minutes of the appointment time.

I really wish Unilocal allowed me to give negative stars. Dr. Taylor is the absolute worst doctor I have ever seen. Without going in to too many details, she prescribed the wrong thing — or more accurately, the right thing in the wrong form(2 minutes of internet research determined what the correct form would have been, and I had to call her and ask her to call in a prescription for the right thing), she declined to prescribe another medication that would have been more effective because she didn’t know if it was contraindicated with anything else I was taking(again, 2 minutes of internet research determined that it was not), her staff was unprofessional and rude, the wait was unnecessarily long, she has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been calling her to ask her to call in a prescription for the medication she should prescribed in the first place, and after leaving 3 messages, I had to call her answering service and tell them it was a life & death emergency to actually get a call back(which was then from one of her secretaries, not her). Like I said, worst doctor ever. Unprofessional, horrible bedside manner, inept and incompetent — that’s the trifecta of horrible doctor. Stay away. I will never be going back, and I recommend to everyone that you stay very far away from her.

I was always indifferent to her service — wait forever, she sees you for 4m but she hit a new low today. After he staff called to: change appointment, confirm new address, confirm new appointment, I turned up for appointment today only to find out she no longer takes my insurance. Really? Your staff didn’t realize that in the 3 prior calls. The prior practice dissolved, so I’m not sure what the issues were but the practice is seriously disorganized and I won’t be returning.

I’ve been to Dr. Taylor twice, both for what I call a «state of the union» check-up, meaning there’s nothing really wrong, I’d just like a once-over, just in case. The first time was fine, no issues. The second time, after the physical exam, she stood across the room(weird, uncomfortable distance) while talking to me about two situations she noticed(neither life threatening). She handed me PAMPHLETS that described both. One she said was«very rare» but that was it — nothing about how to treat it, etc. About a month later I went to my primary care doctor about this«very rare» situation — which had since gotten worse — only to find out it’s the most common skin rash my doctor sees, and is easily treated with a couple pills. While Dr. Taylor did see me on time, and seemed perfectly nice/professional, I found her physical distance disarming(and a bit cold) and her lack of accurate information, combined with her not probing me for more details about these things she noticed or offering advice on what to do, very disappointing. I won’t be back.

I went to see the dermatologist, Jane Taylor, MD, for a skin check up on May 7th. I waited 45 minutes in an otherwise empty office. When I finally got to see her, she was very cold and short. She looked at my skin and said I needed 3 biopsies in 3 highly visible places(forearm and calf) because it could be 3 melanomas. I felt quite concerned and asked her if those biopsies would leave scars. She said, yes, definitely. I’m an actress and a model and part of my job is to have unmarked skin. I was struck by how cold and uncaring she sounded. During the check up she never used a lamp to look at the spots in question. And she recommended I have some restylane injected in my lower eyelids which is cosmetic. I felt appalled and when I looked at the spots in question I felt there was nothing wrong with me. So I went out of my insurance network and shelled out $ 300 to see Dr. Darrell Rigel, one of the leading dermatologists in his field. He was open and friendly and most importantly, used a bright lamp to check out my skin. He told me there was NOTHINGWRONGWITHME! so, I saved myself 3 scars, skin, that Jane Taylor would have biopsied unnecessarily!!! Be warned.

I first went to Dr Taylor in the late 90s and recently returned to her. Across the years, I’ve found her to be very thorough and pleasant during my visits and have been pleased with her work. The office staff is professional and courteous, which seems to be an all too rare thing these days!
