Gladys Casiano was amazing. I have thick frizzy curls and I’m walking out with sleek, soft, pin straight hair. Super friendly(big bonus). Love my hair. Coming back!

This is great hair and nail salon. Gladys Casiano is an amazing stylist and hair care specialist. My hair has improved dramatically since she introduced me to her«straight/curly hair care system.»

I was in Manhattan for work and was flying back home later that day. My hair was dirty with about four days worth of hairspray and various other products but I woke up too late to shampoo my hair before checking out of my hotel. Around the corner was Jeunesse Coiffure. I walked in and asked for a shampoo and blowdry and even though they were busy they made time to squeeze me in. I am a hairdresser and am very particular about the way my hair is styled. Usually I HATE the way other people style my hair and will avoid it if possible. But I was tired and needed my hair to move and not feel plastered to my head! Anyhow, Gladys, my stylist actually did a great job! I told her that I didn’t want my hair to look bubbly or poofy(which is what other people normally do to it). She used the right products on my delicate blonde hair, she used the right tools(at the right temperature) and my hair looked sleek, shiny, moveable, and completely UN-poofy! If you’re in a rush and need a great and fast blowout, go see Gladys at jeunesse coiffure!

I went today for an haircut. The lady clearly had no clue what she was doing, now I have 3 holes in my head and my coworkers asked if I cut my hairs myself. She was pretty embarrassed for her evident lack of skill, and her hands were shaking a lot. I didn’t tell her nothing because I don’t make a big deal about my haircut(I just told her to try to fix the holes and to use a machine to have the hairs of the same lenght, she was not able to do with the scissors) and I didn’t want to embarrass her more, I will just avoid this spot.

I heard about this place through a friend(i have naturally curly hair, & was looking for a place to get highlights done.) I called early one morning saying I’d like to come in, & informing them I have curly hair, they tell me no problem so I come in. I arrive and they tell me to come back tomorrow to see gladys, which pissed me off because on the phone they told me a different story. WASTEOFTIME. Anyway, I come by the next day & gladys starts my highlighting process(ive never dyed my hair before). She was attending to my hair as well as 2 or 3 other people,(at the same time) which annoyed me a bit and kept me there longer than I needed to be. The hair washer was pretty annoying, she wasn’t gentle with my hair ATALL she was«combing my hair out» with some ratty brush, but it felt like she was ripping my hair out… hair is combed out from bottom to top, dont force it. All in all im giving this place 4 starts because i REALLY love the way my highlights came out. I was there for 5 hrs,(could have been 3) but whatever. Also, I paid almost $ 300 for everything.(about $ 270 or something like that). I have hair past my shoulders, but nothing crazy or unmanageable, so that price was pretty ridiculous. Not sure if I’d go back for a touch up or not. We’ll see.

Horrible Experience. Maybe they are better with woman’s hair than men’s, but I think these other reviews on here are WAY off. 1) When I made an appointment, they didn’t even take down my name or info, just said 2:00 and hung up — needless to say, I didn’t even know if I actually had an appointment. 2) When I got there, the stylist kept asking if I needed a wash. I’m not a fussy guy, but come on, I am not a professional, you tell me. I explained that my hair was straightened at the moment, and it was usually curly. She was like ok. I said, well maybe I should get it washed so you can see what it looks like. She responded with a casual, ok you’re right. 3) While I am getting my hair wash, the washer is repeatedly telling me that she accepts tips and has a jar, etc. etc. Really unprofessional. 4) When I got home, my hair was a disaster, completely unblended, different lengths were it should have been the same. And the WORST job of thinning my thick hair. 5) I go to pay with cash. They don’t have any. I was like what? That’s right, they didn’t have any cash to give me change. The receptionist was just like, sorry, nothing I can do. Basically, I wanted to call Tabatha myself and say that this salon needed to be taken over.

I have gone all over for highlights, but keep going back to Gulya, because quite simply, there is no one better in the city. Sure, there are places with better ambiance and amenities, but I’ve been going to her for 8 years now and really have no reason to go to anyone else. Also, she is the master of the«Hollywood» blowout. Tons of volume, bouncy, lasts for days. HIGHLY recommended!

I love this place for 3 reasons: 1. Gladys does the best highlights, I am contantly getting compliments from my mom, sister, friends… 2. The prices are very, very reasonable 3. Everytime I am there, I leave feeling like I am hot stuff b/c the employees are always telling me I look like some celebrity(britney spears, jenn aniston, katie holmes, …) I know I don’t look like any of them, but thanks for making my day!

I moved to the neighborhood and kept passing this place. Usually pay 52 for a men’s cut, and noticed the price was half as much. Read positive reviews on other sites and decided to give it a try. VERY happy with the result. Gladys – my stylist – was excellent. she artfully did exactly what I wanted, and was very conscientious and concerned that I was happy with it. The place is clean, professional and unpretentous. Very pleased it’s right next door, and see no reason to spend twice as much for a cut. Definitely recommend it.

I came here because I really needed a haircut. While I don’t question anyone’s hair cutting abilities at this place, I do question their taste. What I left with was not at all classic nor really flattering, which was what I had requested-i.e. my hair was completely flipped. I basically had two tsunamis ready to roll into my face and the strangest bangs I have ever seen. And the woman who did my eyebrow threading was very nice but her hands shook. As threading is about precisely removing all those little hairs that preclude a proper brow shape, having shaky hands basically means you cannot and should not be threading. I guess everyone has their own guidelines to choosing a hair dresser. but never let desperation be your guide. and stick to indian threading salons like meena’s or the perfect shape. not only are they cheaper, they do a much more thorough job.

Well, it’s no Dashing Diva but I still would give it 3.5 stars. Reasons: less than one block from my house, my nail technician wanted to give advice on my love life, and the girl who did my threading only charged $ 10 because it was my first time visit! Too bad I have no idea when I can make it back here because they close at 6pm.(Last nail appointment at 5pm) I made an early afternoon appointment based on their Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday $ 25 mani/pedi special advertised in the window. This is a beauty salon and there were quite a few woman getting blow outs. may come back to try one of those.
