Sasha is one of the best hair style in the city! I AM highly recommend Hayato, he is a real hair stylist! When he was doing my hair I can feel that how much he put his heart into his work! He treats his work as a treasure and respect all his works! He is exactly know how to show the best appearance based on your hair characters!

This place is a gem!!! Finding a good hair cutter in this city would seem easy but it’s not. Gabriel Sabas is the best hair cutter I’ve ever had and I won’t let anyone else cut my hair but him. Not only is he charming and personable, but amazingly talented. He’s great at knowing what will look good on you and with your hair texture. He pays attention to what you want, your personal style and gives you a cut that makes you feel beautiful. I 100% recommend him. Try him you won’t be sorry you did. In fact you’ll thank me for suggesting it. Hands down the best hair cutter in NYC.

These 2 managed to get my hair cut and colored correctly– it is now healthy, long and the perfect color.

This hair saloon is AMAZING! Karmela has my only trust to cut my hair (and believe me, I tried places all over the world from Sweden to United States) and she’s the ONE to cut your hair!

This place rocks! Karmela and Rick do a great job cutting and coloring my hair, perfect every time. The place is beautiful and the staff is super friendly, they do a great job. There’s been times when the color’s washed out and they’ve fixed it for free, so i have no complaints. I’m a loyal Sahag girl!

This salon is great — open and spacious, with a Zen-​like fee to it. Franny gives fabulous cuts that wear very well, and Jeffrey is a true artist for coloring & highlights. I routinely get compliments on both the cuts and the color. I highly recommend them!

BRUUUUCE! Do yourself a favor and let Bruce cut your hair. He is as talented as they come, and a nice guy too. Bruce has been cutting my hair for several years (at a nearby salon that is now closed) and i have loved the results every time. So glad that he has stayed in the neighborhood with John Sahag, so that he can continue to be my go-​to stylist.

Again, I cannot express how great Franny is. I fly in to have my hair cut and styled by her. I receive so many compliments. She’s a gem in NYC. You won’t be disappointed!

I never write reviews but this place deserves the time it takes to write one. Santino and Gabriel are absolutely the best! Santino always gets the color absolutely spot on perfect. Gabriel was the person I trusted to cut my hair after years and years of wearing it super long. His cuts grow out perfectly. Even if I’m running a little behind on getting in for my next cut it still looks great. True professionals! The whole staff is always so warm and friendly, you never feel like an outsider

I can’t say enough great things about Franny! I have been to all the top salons in New York and have gone to top stylists at Oribe, Bruno Dessange, Roy Teeluck, Salon AKS and more but have to say that by far Franny gives me the best cuts. I started going to her while she was still apprenticing and have stuck by her. She is thorough and careful and has always given be great cuts. She’s also a terrific blow dryer. Both of my daughters go to Franny and now their friends are going to her as well.
Best of all, she has a great personality, always remembers what’s happening in my life and is very caring. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Franny.

While I do not often like to spend money on pampering myself too often — this is one exception. Every haircut and blow out I have received from Franny at Sahag leaves me feeling re-​energized and happy. She listens very carefully to what i want, and always puts a smile on my face (both from the hair cuts, and from her conversation!!). I would highly recommend Franny to anyone :)

Had an amazing cut by Franny! She has become the only person I ever want to touch my hair. It has grown so much since our last session, Her hands are truly magical. Also like that fact that she cuts dry. Going into her she addressed some issues about layering and unevenness in my hair. She was able to give me great body without taking off too much length.
I highly recommend her for all your cutting and styling needs!

Angelica has consistently given me a great cut. She is really talented and seriously into her craft. She really takes her time cutting and also has a good feel for what kind of hair style will look good on an individual. She’s also great with thick, curly hair tho she can master any type of hair texture. Most of all she’s a super nice person, easy to talk to and really aims to please. I keep getting non-​stop compliments from strangers about my new hair style. Who can complain about that!

Best of the high-​end salons in NYC, hands down (and I’ve been to many of the other ones (John Barrett, Ted Gibson, Frederic Fekkai, Warren-​Tricomi, Oscar Blandi).
Franny for cuts and Chaqira for Keratin are amazing, and knew just what to do with my frizzy, poodle-​like hair.
Not cheap, but worth every penny!

You must go to Angelica for a cut. She is fun, always positive, and most importantly, instinctively understands what you want and what will look good on you. She also gets how different textures of hair fall differently and adjusts her cuts accordingly. Hands down, the best stylist I’ve ever had.
On the other hand, my old, fabulous colorist left in 2013. I went to a new junior one here in Feb of 2014 and I’m still paying for it 14 months later. Basically she left the solution on way too long. My naturally already dry hair is STILL breaking off and feels like straw. Short of chopping it all off, there’s nothing I can do but wait it out and continually get trims by Angelica’s masterful scissors. The senior colorists here are total pros. My advice to you would be to just pay up for one of them.

Booked an incredibly last minute appointment on a spontaneous whim. I got matched with Angelica who whisked me into the chair and gave me a great consultation on what we could do to help with my very thin hair. We completely agreed and she set forth to work her magic.
Sahag does only dry cuts, which I think is brilliant because obviously we wear our hair dry, not wet. They flat iron and then cut to truly sculpt your hair appropriately and then wash and style accordingly.
This was by far the most expensive haircut I’ve ever had, but for how happy I am with it and how great Angelica made me feel. I have a bit of insecurity regarding my hair and she made me feel like it was no issue at all.
Be aware– this place is not cheap. But for me, the experience was so great that I’ll gladly pay my $ 150 for a haircut (not including tip) and I’ll walk out feeling like a queen. Worth it.

I hesitate to give 5 stars but this place is that good. Of course, you must get the right stylist. I have never gotten a bad haircut here and have usually gotten cuts that are far above the standard of a «great» cut.
These people are artists. The price is very high and the atmosphere is nice & quiet.
If you can afford it (or even if you can’t but want the best), this is THE place to get your hair done in NYC.
You MUST get a recommendation for a particular stylist, though. They are not all equal.

I can’t recommend Ray enough!!! I met him through a friend who recommended me through the John Sahag Workshop. I was VERY wary about taking her recommendation because I am a mixed race male with hair that would be damaged if straightened. I have a rat’s nest of curls and waves that very few stylist are barbers can cut satisfactorily, let alone well!
But I trust my friend (Sheila J. to be exact ;-) and gave it a whirl. I am SOOO glad I did!!!
Ray transformed my hair! I had no idea the damage I’d been doing to my hair over the years, let alone the congestion my various hair products had been causing to the pores of my scalp! It took various treatments, but my hair is now the healthiest it has ever been throughout my 32 years of living!
Ray is professional, pays GREAT attention to detail, is personable… and let’s not front, y’all…he is SMOKIN’ HOT ;-)! I am a faithful Ray-​head who can’t recommend him highly enough;-)
