Seriously, best pizza in the neighborhood. I forgot just how good until we ordered delivery from another place on 7th Ave that fell short of what we get from J’s. We’ve ordered from all the other places around here but have been ordering exclusively from J’s until they weren’t available tonight. Their pizza always has the right amount of chew and doneness, whereas my jaw got tired trying to fight through a couple of slices from the other well regarded and more expensive pizza place.

I stopped at this place yesterday with my Husband and we enjoyed every bite. Folks! This is a no frills, old school NYC pizza shop that has fresh ingredients and deliciousness of the Gods… I have not had a pizza this good since I was a kid… I am talking about the 80’s and 90’s here… So, you know that this is good pizza… Maybe I shouldn’t be writing this review because I want it all to myself… lol As delicious as it gets :)

I live about 500 feet from this place, but never went inside. Today I decided to order from them and it was the best(pizza) decision I’ve made in a long time. My food came within 20 minutes and was piping hot! My boyfriend and I got a large cheese pizza and garlic knots all for $ 15. You absolutely can’t beat the price or quality! I will be ordering from them again and definitely recommend them to everyone! Just like the other reviews said the garlic knots were out of this world!

I came here with a friend to get a slice of pizza. I really wanted white pizza, so I got a slice of the white pizza with no toppings. It was just okay, nothing extraordinary. The pizza looked a bit bland, maybe it wasn’t the cheese I was expecting. I felt like the pizza lacked a bit of pizzaz(ha) and flavor. I would have wanted it to taste richer and/or saltier. Anyway, very classic NY pizza experience though, with the décor and the seating.

Very very good pizza! Tried the pepperoni ricotta and Parmesan, delicious! With a few garlic knots on the side… work in the area best pizza spot on this side!!!

My wife and I stopped here for dinner last night and loved the services, speed and quality of the food. These guys are polite, patient, and helpful. There was a guest who came in, seemed to be drunk, loud, yelling, the front counter staff took great care of him and were extremely patient with him. Props guys!

Solid, reliable, quality NY pizza. There is nothing special about this pizza, and that is the best part.

This was the rudest pizza place I have ever been too. Went here on a hot day on my way home and when I tried to order pizza and water, we got yelled at for asking for tap water. And then the guys behind the counter tried fighting us because we asked for another cup of water. I have never felt more uncomfortable being inside a pizza place before.

Good place for the real thing. You need to get a slice of regular cheese pizza on thin crust, and then maybe one other specialty pizza, to understand what real, true pizza is supposed to be. Too many chains and franchises have confused and corrupted good pizza, in my opinion, but hey, I’m from Long Island and I grew up around honest to goodness Italian pizzarias. The chefs were kind and attentive, making the entire experience really a pleasure. I’d stop by again if I’m in the area.

Ordered baked ziti from here(because the prices of their lunch specials are clutch). It was okay. I’ve definitely had better baked ziti, but it was still good. A+ garlic knots though and they have a big pizza selection that’s always hot and fresh when you’re there.

2 stars for the friendly Romanians who work this spot and that is it. I have tried the cheese, pepperoni and vegetarian slices. There is nothing that makes this pizza stand out. The store is grimy and the pizza is thin, tasteless, flat and frankly quite terrible. I think that Sbarro’s tastes better than their re heated grease pies. Sorry, but I wouldn’t come back even if I was dying for a midnight snack.

This place is run by two very nice guys and it is probably the most popular pizza place in the neighborhood. People keep coming back so they must be doing something right. But I personally think the quality of the pizzas are poor or at best average. There is nothing unique or special about them, the ingredients are low grade white flower and old or canned veggies, and the ambiance is predictably dull. I don’t blame them for opening a typical pizza place. But I wish it were more impressive.

Good slice. Very solid. Not the best, but good enough that I would return if I was in the area and wanted pizza.

Here is another favorite on my hood, love their pizza! The margarita with fresh basil is one of the highlights. I eat there, but I often order and they are fast, good and polite. Prices are good too. If you’re in for a quick bite, check it out!

I’ve been back about 30x since my last review. J’s margarita pepperoni pie is simply the best. The dough — water, flour, oil and salt — you can taste the quality, is crisp and chewy. The ingredients are always fresh. They use just the right amount of cheese. Not stingy or overwhelming. The sauce has a nice tang to it without being sweet. It truly is a perfectly balanced pizza creation. The same people are there day in and day out. When I call for delivery one of the guys speaks rough, heavily accented English. I used to get a little frustrated, but now all I have to say is ‘margarita pepperoni’ and he recognizes me. Sometimes the owner will deliver himself. Really nice guys, great quality pizza. I understand now how they can afford a large corner lot surrounded by lots of fancy places. It’s not because they are cheap or they own the building, they are just that good.

Stopped by for a quick and cheap lunch with my friend during our lunch break on 1÷14÷15 Place was clean and there were many nice choices, but we were already set to get a whole pepperoni pizza pie($ 9.00). They cooked it fresh which took around 15 minutes and it was incredibly filling! A little greasy though, but it’s pizza so what did I expect. There was something that looked like pasta pizza or macaroni pizza that I will definitely try next time!(it’s $ 3.50 a slice for the specialty ones, $ 2.50 for normal)

J’s is the best around. Doughy, flavorful crust. Fresh, slightly sweet sauce. Cheese with real flavor. They always get my order perfect and fast, too. I have tried more pizza joints in NYC than I can count and this is a tie for the best alongside Prince Street, for those who like thin crust pizza. Just don’t eat in — the ambience is dim and shoddy. I recommend getting margarita with pepperoni added.

All kinds of pizza pizza and a few pre made salads. Had a slice of the thin crust pepperoni. The meat, cheese, and dough was all on point and to my liking. They also have daily specials like pasta, lasagna, baked ziti, manicotti, stuffed shells, and chicken parigiana.

I was visiting New York during the infamous«Polar Vortex» and needed to fulfil a touristy wish by eating a big, greasy piece of NY-style pizza… I also really had to get out of the cold! J’s was no-frills, pizza-eating, cold-escaping perfection! I chose the most ridiculously carb-loaded piece of pizza I could see(the baked ziti option) and chilled out for 30 mins in the restaurant eating it. Guilt-inducing? Uh… yes… but deliciousness was an awesome way to distract myself from that little fact. Total bliss!

I am not sure if it was just that day, but I was not impressed with this pizza place. My cousin and I came here to stop for a slice before heading to our other destination. I had a slice of cheese pizza along with some garlic knots. The pizza sauce was bland and the garlic knots were not cooked enough. It was just too doughy and not enough garlic going on. I may be a little harsh here because I am comparing it to the other«NY pizza» that I had in the past. When in the area, I would not come back here for my pizza craving.
