The lunchtime crew gets an A, especially Kevin on the chopping blocks. The night shift is hit or miss sometimes and understaffed but this is one of my go-to spots. Pretty much always satisfied.

Delicious fresh salads. Only complaint: while dining-in service is efficient(don’t order delivery: you’ll wait over an hour) universally, every employee behind the counter is unfriendly, distracted, and more concerned with yelling at each other than making paying customers feel welcome.

Classic New York salad situation here. You over pay for a salad. Get home. And its pretty much all lettuce. If you’re going to charge that much for a salad at least put a decent amount of meat or vegetables in. And then if you ask for a little more to make it a reasonably proper portion they charge you more… C’mon, today was the last time I get a salad here.

Good salads. But can’t you give me a free piece of bread? You guys need to have better customer service. I paid you $ 11 for a salad, asked for an extra piece of bread, you charged me. You just lost a regular customer over 54 cents

I usually go to this location weekly but that will stop today. I should have checked some of these Unilocal reviews before I decided to patronize this stingy location because maybe I would have avoided 2 unsavory situations that made me lose my appetite. This second experience makes me not want to give them the full 3 strikes. They took my order almost right away because it was not busy, which makes me curious as to why my chopper was maniacally chopping my salad, spraying pieces of lettuce and all the chunks of cheese and turkey all over the dressings and floor. When I asked him to please calm down and not get the salad I am about to pay for all over the place, he tossed down his tongs and turned to the manager/expediter and said«can you deal with her?» as if we have history. I just turned and walked out of the place because it was so rude. I don’t want to have to deal with that when I pay $ 11 for a fast food salad, half filled because the chopper is literally wasting my food. I don’t like to be a person only writing a bad review as I’ve been there a lot before. I won’t go back because this chopper seems to have a grudge against me and can’t deal with chopping a salad neatly when there isn’t even a line. Embarrassing for me to have to ask for my food to be in the dang bowl instead of the floor.

I work around the area and always bypass this location. From the outside, it looks very clean. I finally decided to give it a try despite all of the negative reviews. As soon as I opened the door, I was welcomed warmly by the manager on duty(he gave a huge smile by the way). I then got in line to order my salad. –The woman who took my order was very quick and the one who chopped my chicken Cesar salad was quick as well. He didn’t forget to offer bread. –Paying was a breeze. I was surprised my salad didn’t come out to over $ 10 being that it is located in the city. The manager asked how was the service and how was the appearance of the store, in which he was interested in instant feedback. 2 thumbs up for this place! Salad was delicious and will be coming back. Portion was great! Just an FYI: For those ppl complaining. Lettuce grows above ground on dirt, which is where bugs live. It contains many leaves and people cannot microscopically remove all dirt and all bugs from each leaf. If there’s a bug, just ask for another salad. Lettuce Pray

Always a good place for me to stop in and eat something before I have to catch my train home. The staff are always friendly and gracious. The build your salad makes the most sense for me and I always can get what I want. They’re good for on the go or to sit in and eat.

It’s not just salad, as they do have wraps and chili as well. But I have only ever gotten salad, usually the mediterranean salad which is basically a greek salad The few times times I’ve been here, my salads were always good. I find the service to be very friendly. The salad choppers are always nice and chit chat with you, while they work. The ingredients are good and the price is fine for what you get.

I’ve never had a bad experience yet out of the 5 times I’ve gone. Definitely my best healthy lunch option in Chelsea for $ 8 – 9. Always feel full and satisfied. Thai Chicken Crunch is my jam. And the service has always been top notch, even with a long line. 4 stars

Decent for lunch and inexpensive(compare to chopt), however shredded carrots taste like dishwater and music is crappy. Service is nice though.

I ordered through seamless for delivery at this location. I had been walking past and stopped in to grab a take out menu. So today I decided to order lunch– I have never eaten here before. I had a smoothie and the California wrap. And both were very good. How ever the wrap just had the tiniest bit of avocado on it. One of the reasons I ordered this wrap is because I love avocado, so please put more avocado on your wraps! Also when ordering delivery, they apparently have some items on the physical take out menu that are not on seamless, it even their website. So I was disappointed I couldn’t get the wrap I really wanted. I realize I could call and ask, but why not just have all the items on your online menus? Or update your physical ones? So maybe I’ll order from them again. I did really enjoy the smoothie.

Used to adore just salad, but their service has been declining. 1. The salad was not even ¾ full, why am I paying the same price? Proportions people, proportions! 2. The dressings. Yogurt cucumber dressing tasted mustardy. The explanation I was offered: oh we switched to a different vendor. Really? Well it’s probably because you’re trying to skim. Mixing yogurt with water(free ingredient) makes it taste watered down, can separate. Add dill, some white(?) mustard powder, and chemicals and you have an odd — but not an uberly watery consistency. 3. When I asked for the typical tahini. You assure me you have it, but don’t(?) I’d rather go hungry. Least I got a refund. Also it’s a salad place, a heaven for vegetarians. How do you not clean your blades in water, but with a rag? Come on!

I was here around 6PM last Thursday evening. I had been searching for some soup and this place had some. I ordered the small split pea soup which was a vegetarian option. That was good because usually American split pea soup is made with ham or some other pork product which I don’t eat generally. The soup was flavorful. It was also sort of blended or pureed so the peas weren’t grainy but there were some pieces of vegetables in there like diced carrots.

Not quite sure why this place has low-ish reviews. Maybe they had some growing pains and have worked those kinks out because this place was great. Had the Thai-something salad and it was quite good. They give you a lot of salad which fills you up, but because it’s mostly veggies you don’t feel gross and your filled up feeling goes away after like 15 minutes. There are other salad places around the city and so competition is probably fierce, but kudos to Just Salad I would definitely come back.

Worst service and horrible manager at this location. Paid $ 10 for my salad and got half a bowl — 2nd time. Manager said she can put some more lettuce on the top. Or I can buy a second salad for $ 7 more

COCKROACHES&BUGS — – Not once, but twice, my co-workers have found bugs in their salad. Cannot stress enough that you should NOT eat here, unless you want additional protein in your meal.

Really poor service. I got my reusable bowl at the midtown location when I was interning, so I sometimes dig it out when I’ve run the gamut of my takeout options in Chelsea and I’m feeling really lazy. This location is just across the street from me. Did I say really poor service? Three separate times, I’d been asked if I already paid for my reusable bowl which is a legit question, but I think it’s how one conveys the question. The first time I didn’t mind, but the last two times it was asked, the tone was bordering on rude. The employees are probably paid minimum wage which might explain their total apathy. The first station didn’t even bother to put the chicken when I asked for a Thai CHICKEN crunch. When I noticed the missing chicken while my salad was being chopped and asked for it to be added, the chop guy asked me if I had originally asked for it. Not really sure what part of a simple order is hard to understand. Thai Chicken Crunch with cucumbers and egg whites. Chopped. And yes, I already paid for this bowl! Salad wise, the selection and ingredients are good. If give it 3 stars. A bowl can be quite filling and I usually have leftovers for another go. I haven’t notice the service improving since they opened, so I’m just gonna toss that $ 1 reusable bowl in the garbage and go to Chipotle when I’m feeling lazy. It is probably not BPA-free anyway.

The folks at Just Salad were kind enough to reach out about a poor experience I had at another outpost, so I gave this new location an opportunity*. They refer to this location just by its address, since«Chelsea» was already taken… by their 7066th Avenue location, which is in Flatiron, not Chelsea.** Unfortunately the Buffalo Kale Caesar Salad was very underwhelming, and the bread was abnormally dry and without the rosemary that usually kicks it up a notch elsewhere. The portions are always respectable, and the staff were friendly enough given the dreary weather outside and the clear lack of things to do for each of the handful of staff. *When I visited before their pay-what-you-want day, this listing didn’t exist, but I didn’t add it. **Their confirmation emails also include the wrong«it[‘]s»(«If you ordered for delivery, as soon as your order is on **it’s** way, we will notify you via email.») This is just one of the many issues I hope they iron out…+Their ordering system at doesn’t open at the time the store does — example, couldn’t order until 11:08, etc. +It always says ‘Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to edit your order!’ in the upper right of …, which can contain orders from months ago. +Always says«Note: One or more of these items and/or their customizations are not available at the location from which this order is being placed» next to each item on that same page, which is both incorrect and never actually mentioned WHEN placing the order.

Very annoyed I got here the day after the grand opening but a solid Just Salad. Wish I’d had my bowl with me but they do have a nice setup & clean restrooms. The plugins below where I was sitting did not work & I sorely needed to charge my phone(also a little annoyed about getting that e-mail to find the grand opening was the day before) but the staff was friendly enough. Pricey but if you can afford it, the food IS healthy but tasty as well.
