Great food great cooks terrible owners they have no respect. Starting with the fact that they always want to treat you like your stealing something. They also charge tax on food which is unheard of, oh yes but if they like you they won’t charge you tax The Asian lady has no respect… if you walk in there with something you purchased from another store she actually tries to charge you for it… really??? I had a Snapple I bought from another store you know she actually leaned over the counter and touched my Snapple asking me where I got it… excuse me??? I miss when her daughter used to work there she was kind. I would recommend the food it’s good But I don’t deal with disrespect especially when I’m spending my money!!!

What a great place to stay open during hurricane Sandy! Served hot coffee and breakfast during the storm when the power was out, and when no other deli or grocery was open on the whole block. Thank you!

Chopped cheese, egg/cheese on a roll, phillies… they do it right. It’s a really good deli, they make the average sandwiches and breakfast food but better. They actually CARE about how you like it. Don’t know his name but my little man does it right! Knows my order everyday and makes it perfect. No egg and cheese will ever taste as good as KMP’s. Pretty sure my high school is the reason they still exist, money wise. We love them!

So, I did in fact start a KMP fan club on my facebook page called«I shop at KMP at 4 am». Chief amongst my stars is the fact that KMP is open all night. It has the best grilled cheese, and it’s the kind of joint where the grill guy is always there ready to take your order and you don’t need to like do flips to get his attention. Even at 4 am. The only detractor is the cost which is the reason for the 4 stars. I am a big fan of the cheese wedges and string cheese and the plastic bins of nuts which are all ridiculously overpriced, I have to spend like 5 dollars for a reasonable quantity of these snacks when I can get a grilled cheese sandwich for like 3 dollars. The service is exceptionally polite.

K M P Market(1st ave b 15⁄16) is your average NYC bodega… except that they make the best grilled cheese in(pause) THEWORLD. That’s right, I said it. Don’t be fooled by your average bodega staples: dirt, disgruntled workers, fried cod fish strips under a red heat lamp since yesterday, creepy fat cat with huge green eyes staring at me. Don’t be fooled. Beyond these standard bodega elements there is a daytime griddle worker(daytime recommended over nightime) who has chosen to share his gift with the world: Making Grilled Cheese. Order: «Grilled cheese, burnt bacon [you want it to break easily with each bite(obviously)] and tomato.» With your first bite you will be transported to a level of gooey crunchy cheesey bacony heaven that you currently don’t know exists. And there’s no going back, my friends. I have a twice a week habit. I just can’t quit you K M P! If you need me, you will find me every friday at 6 at the KMP register with 2 of these bad boys, a 6 pack and a chocolate fudge brownie dixie cup(sometimes a peace pop). One time, as the daytime sandwich man handed me my double order of said grilled cheese, I gazed deep into his eyes and said, «Ummm…excuse me… hi. I just wanted to tell you that you make the best grilled cheeses in the world and I love them so much and I just wanted to say… thank you. Thank you thank you thaaaank you.» That’s the kind of grilled cheese we are dealing with. Go get one now and report back.
