Extremely impressed with this place for takeout. So happy I found a reliable sushi spot for lunch Downtown. Their rolls have been consistently fresh so far and they are very generous with the size of the rolls. Delivery is also fast!

Probably the worst sushi I have ever had. It’s not real tuna steak like you would get at a nice sushi place, it’s cheap stuff that tastes gross. Plus, my lettuce was brown. I didn’t expect much, from this place, but it was just terrible. Biggest waste of $ 15 I’ve ever spent. I feel sick after eating it.

Everything we ordered here was good. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. Prices were not bad. I would return.

The lunch special is really good value for money! We ordered 3 different types of rolls — cucumber maki, sweet potato and tempura rolls, and avocado and peanut rolls. They serve 6 pieces of each. The lunch special also comes with soup or salad. We picked miso soup and it was really nice. The avocado and peanut rolls were amazing! The peanuts added a really nice texture. I was a little sceptical about the sweet potato rolls since I’m not very fond of sweet potatoes. But they were delicious! We also got free edamame by checking in on Unilocal

This is my new sushi spot! It’s just a 10 min walk from work and quick service that it only took me about 45 mins tops door to door on my lunch break. They have great roll specials for lunch… and my eyes were bigger than my stomach today so I got 3 rolls and I am stuffed. I ordered shrimp tempura, eel avocado, and snow crab. What I love about their rolls, perfect amount of rice, they are not trying to fill the roll with rice. Decent amount of meat for a lunch special, I am not complaining about the amount of meat because it was a perfect bite for me, but some may think there isn’t enough meat. I will be ordering here again and again to get my sushi fix!

I get their delivery all the time. It’s AMAZING. So much fish in each roll giving it the perfect fish-to-rice ratio. Delivery is rather fast and they never messed up our orders. I’ve never sat down there but it’s definitely my go-to for delivery

Came in for a quick dinner, there were signs offering a free edamame with $ 35 order of food. I didn’t see the Unilocal offer and should’ve used it. I got a Jamaican roll, which is tuna, mango, and avocado. Pretty good but this area gives you some steep prices– $ 7 including tax for a roll. Maybe I’ll come back to redeem my check in, maybe not, who knows.

Review based solely on a single delivery. Ordered the gyoza for appetizer. Pretty standard take out gyoza, nothing to describe, if you’ve ever ate cheap gyoza, imagine that. Ordered two rolls. More fish than rice, nice ratio. Tasted fresh, though nothing outstanding. I wanted a quick lunch, totally worth it. Placing the order was easy(navigating interface was easy), first time I ordered through Unilocal.Delivery was timely and about as friendly as a delivery man can be.

I work right up the block from this place, and I’m not impressed. I had a bento box, the sushi seemed very old not fresh and the dumplings old and not fresh. My salmon was good tho. I don’t think it’s worth it:(

This spot is great! The vegetables are fresh and crisp. The fish is very fresh as well as the chefs are the real deal! Preparation and was superb with extremely fine cuts and food came to the table fast. The décor is simplistic and pleasant. Service is on point without being overbearing. They made my lonely dinner very pleasant.

I ordered the pork katsu lunch special & fried calamari through seamless and although it was came earlier than expected, the delivery guy was a bit rude when he called. I answered the first time and said«hello?» a few times before hanging up due to no answer. He called back and said«you ordered delivery?» In a rude kind of yelling tone. After replying yes, he said what apartment when I specially stated on my seamless order to deliver it to the storefront. I ordered through seamless and had it delivered to the same address many times before without a problem or any delivery guys being rude. Although both the pork katsu was & the calamari was good, I probably won’t order from here again. 3 stars for the food only.

Really, this is the best affordable sushi option in a 10 block range. I order takeout for lunch or dinner sometimes when I’m at work and I’ve never had any issues with them forgetting something or screwing an order up. In fact, I’ve referred a few people to this restaurant who have been fed up with the subpar sushi in TriBeCa.

I have been coming here since the grand opening and the food is consistently good. I really like their lunch special deals also, and the service is fairly quick. They have excellent rolls and their food seems especially fresh. Definitely recommend.

I want to like this place, I do, but second time ordering sushi from here and I’m really disappointed. I ordered the three roll special, which price-wise is a great deal. However, the rolls leave much to be desired. Here’s what I got: 1) Spicy tuna roll: lots of tuna in this, but the fish was not fresh and had an unpleasant taste to it. 2) Eel-cucumber roll: again, eel did not taste fresh and there was way more cucumber in here than eel. However, yummy sauce on top. 3) Shrimp tempura roll: perhaps the biggest disappointment. Barely any shrimp in the roll! One piece had none at all. The roll is mainly stuffed with old lettuce and a ton of cucumber. How disappointing! The meal comes with miso soup or a salad, and my miso soup was incredibly bland. Another disappointment. Only reason this place gets three stars is because my delivery was extremely fast(albeit I would have rather waited for higher quality food) and my delivery man was really sweet and waited in my building’s lobby for about 10 minutes while I was stuck on a conference call.

Take-out/delivery Review: For about a year, I was having real struggles in trying to find a good sushi delivery place in the Tribeca area. I tried multiple and none were even remotely good, none came close to my very average standards… until KAEDE! Thank goodness this restaurant came along on Chambers street because this place is not just good enough, it is excellent for take-out. They are super quick in delivering and everything is made perfectly. I have ordered here at least five times now and have not once been disappointed in the food quality they’ve provided. All their rolls have the perfect proportion of fish to rice(ie 87% fish, 13% rice) and the fish cuts are big and fresh. I’ve had the salmon avocado, snow crab roll, California roll, slammin’ salmon roll, spicy crunch tuna roll, and many others along with their salad, miso soup and shrimp tempura. All just delicious and well made. I also tried their dinner bento box which was great. Although at a slightly higher price than I am used to paying at $ 19.95, it sure provides a lot of food: Miso(which comes with some enoki mushrooms), salad, shumai, a roll choice of California, spicy tuna or salmon avocado and TWO entrees(I got beef teriyaki and shrimp tempura which came with vegetable tempura as well). It was delicious and super filling. In all honesty, all typical take-out/eat-in sushi restaurants pretty much offer the same thing. What really makes one stand out at the end of the day is quality compared to price and the quality here for the price that you pay is spot on. I really hope this place never closes because I can’t go back to another crappy delivery sushi place in Tribeca.

We’d been ordering from another Japanese restaurant in the area that I found quite lackluster, so I decided to turn to Unilocal for help! So glad we found Kaede! I think they are a relatively new establishment, but with the stellar reviews, you can rest assured that the quality of their food is up to par! Also, you can order delivery from either Seamless or from their own site — either way is super convenient! They have a variety of bento box and sushi lunch specials. The ‘maki roll’ lunch special is a really great deal! For $ 10, you can get your choice of two maki rolls + the choice of either a soup or salad. For $ 12, you can get three maki rolls. If I’d been a little more greedy, I might have gone for that. :P I got the spicy tuna roll and the yellow tail w/scallion roll and both were fantastic! The yellow tail melted in my mouth and the spicy tuna was made just the way I like it with a dollop of roe in each bite! I hadn’t noticed this myself, but a friend commented later on about a photo I’d taken of the sushi rolls that the fish to rice ratio was really phenomenal. She was right. The sushi rolls — although small — were about 90% fish and 10% rice/nori. You really can’t complain about that! I also got the seaweed salad, which did not smell or taste fishy(like the last place we ordered from). For $ 5, you get a really generous portion! Anyway, the Kaede menu has been stored in a safe place in the office, so that the next time we want to order sushi for lunch, we don’t have to look any further! :)

Got a takeout bento box with teriyaki chicken for lunch today and was pretty disappointed. The«teriyaki» sauce was not thick, it had clearly been watered down, which ruined what little flavor there was to begin with. The chicken was limp and flavorless, not like the kind you get at good teriyaki joints with a little seasoning and crispiness on top. California roll was just plain bad. Shaomai was edible but not great. The rice and the miso were pretty good but everything else was barely above what you could expect to eat on an airplane. Skip this place and go to Glaze or somewhere more traditional if you want decent Teriyaki.

Four stars for this downtown sushi joint. It’s definitely better than other in the area — comparing to the higher quality midtown restaurants it would be a three star restaurant. The rolls were well made, with well prepared rice, held together and very yummy. The sashimi may be better at the restaurant, I wouldn’t recommend for take out. Much better than a’s and nu sushi. Will be ordering takeout to the office on a regular basis.

I’ve been here probably ten times, each time, so good. I always get a salmon avo hand roll, so yummy. Today, I loosened up a bit and had the spicy girl roll. Delish. Hubs had the chicken Katsu, one of his go-to meals. They started us off with some complimentary edamame. Our food arrived quickly. Delicious and eye-pleasing. Always great service, excellent food.

Had a seamless coupon so a coworker and I decided to try the $ 19 chirashi for lunch. Decent chirashi is hard to find down here for lunch, at a lunch price.(We wouldn’t normally consider $ 19 to be a lunch price unless we go somewhere high-end once every few months.) Right… back to the chirashi… the sushi rice was good, the pickles were not and were out of place in the dish. The tuna and salmon were decent, but the tamago omelet was not good and the white fish(white tuna?) was too fishy to be fresh. The yellowtail wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t order sashimi or sushi from here again. I’d rather spend the extra $ at Takahachi or Blue Ribbon for a special occasion like a birthday… and just continue to avoid having sushi/sashimi in the Tribeca area at other times.
