The first 2 reviews are pretty spot on. He is a pretty meticulous dentist, preaching the old school ways of dentistry… take care of your gums. He prefers to pick and scrape the plaque and tartar off your teeth, which can be quite painful. Not only will he charge you for the Oral Hygiene instruction, it’s now $ 80, and he seems to charge you every visit. I’ve been to him twice… at his own recommendation(attacking each side of the mouth per visit). So even though he was part of my insurance network, I still had to pay at least $ 160 for those 2 visits. I can understand having to do this once, but the second time? I feel that I continue to go back, I will be charged, at minimum $ 80.

My husband saw Dr. Helibrunn for a routine check-up and cleaning. Before the appointment my husband confirmed that the dentist accepted our insurance. Several weeks after the appointment we received a bill from the dentist with a copy of the insurance EOB. The dentist charged $ 60 for«Oral Hygiene Instruction.» My husband said that the dentist did speak to him about brushing his teeth, but at no time told him it was an extra service or he would be charged for it. The insurance company did not pay for it, so the dentist was billing us. My husband wrote a very nice letter stating that he did not request the service or was ever given an option to accept or the deny the service, or was he ever told it would be extra. Who would ever think a dentist giving instructions on how to brush your teeth would be an extra cost? He «respectfully asked not to be billed for the service.» The dentist wrote back simply stating«do not return to my practice.» I think the customer service on this issue appalling. My husband later got a call saying that he still owed the $ 60.
