By far the best catered sandwich I’ve ever had! On ZeroCater(the company catering website), Kitchen M is called Carnegie Hill Catering. However, I made sure the lunch we had was made by Kitchen M after doing some back and forth info digging(e.g. making sure the food selection and descriptions were the same and cross-checking that it was the same chef, former Guy & Gallard’s Howard Cheng). Got the XVO tossed chicken salad sandwich consisting of extra virgin olive oil, caponata, parmesan, and arugula on 7-grain bread. Absolutely phenomenal! First impressions are key, and right when I opened up the sandwich I knew I was in for a treat — there was just so much of the main filling and an incredibly large amount of chicken. You’re always scared of catered sandwiches skimping out on the stuffing and essentially being 2 pieces of stale bread. Biting into the sandwich, I loved the saucy flavor, and the crunchier vegetables and crisp arugula were a nice contrast to the tender and moist chicken. Finished this sandwich quickly feeling healthy and fulfilled =)

Nice people, latte was nice — not coffee foodie good, but a nice normal latte — and I really like the space. The pastries look delicious, but it was the wrong time of day. I will likely come back to try them.

Kind of pricey — Like $ 10 – 12 for just a sandwich — but it’s so good that it’s worth the occasional indulgence. I’ve only had their sandwiches, soup, and boba but all are delicious. The grilled chicken panini is probably the best(of the ones I’ve tried). They make really good boba too, which seems kind of random but I’m not complaining!

Anytime I want to opt for a store bought breakfast during the week I ALWAYS come here. The egg white brioche with turkey bacon is SOFREAKINGGOOD. I have cravings for it. The paninis are great but a little bit too expensive for my budget these days. My favorites are the chipotle filet mignon and mushroom truffle sandwich. Kitchen M has some very interesting combinations and it works! I really wanted to try their bubble tea but until it knocks down a couple bucks I’ll have to pass. For everyone just new to the area, Kitchen M is always a good option for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The food seemed fresher and customer service better when it first opened… i really hope it doesn’t fall short in the time to come because I really like this place.

When this place first opened the food was fresh and tasty. There aren’t many places you can go grab lunch on the go for a descent price on the upper east side. Working up the block from this place I was happy that i could get a quick panini and it be good, though pricey. Man, have they totally deteriorated in taste, service, and overall food quality. They have always been slow with their service so that doesn’t bother me as much but this past Friday was the worst food experience I’ve had around here to date. I hardly ever review but couldn’t keep quiet on this. During lent I choose not to eat meat on Fridays so needed to find a place that had seafood and would be good. I decided to go into Kitchen M. I’ve only eaten their paninis so thought that their entrees had to be fresh and above average for the price they charge. I got the lemon Sole with 2 sides, mashed potatoes and bow tie pasta with some sort of pesto sauce. Ten minutes and $ 16 later, I walked back to the office to eat my lunch. I open it up and to my surprise it had been microwaved. The fish, that had been sitting in the fridge all day, had been nuked and was now a mushy mess. The mashed potatoes had a brown crust on the top from being microwaved and the pasta was rubber-like. The mash potatoes were the only thing that I could stomach and threw the rest of the food away. I will gladly pay $ 16 for a meal that I will enjoy. I was so disappointed and so mad. I love food and to serve me THAT, I was fuming. I really, really learned my listen this morning. I decided to give them another shot. I ordered a muffin, toasted with butter. How could they mess that up, right? Wrong! When I got to my desk, the muffin was cold on the outside, burnt on the inside, and clumps of butter on top of the chard muffin. There is a serious lack of places to eat around here but I will NOT be going back to Kitchen M. Management seriously needs to step up their game.

+3 stars for the food, –2 stars for the lack of a delivery boy and bad customer service. It was a cold winter morning and I wanted something delicious and warm but I didn’t want to get out of bed. So i logged onto Seamless and I ordered two breakfast sandwiches and soup from Kitchen M, which came out to be around $ 17 – definitely not cheap for breakfast. But it was cold and I didn’t care. 30 minutes later, I get a call telling me that they didn’t have a delivery boy yet and that I could either wait another 30 minutes or come pick it up. Frustrated, I was starving and decided maybe some fresh air would do me good and I walk over to the place. Just as I arrived, a delivery boy comes biking up to the place. Facepalm. I enter and pick up my food and the lady says her apologies but quickly moves on to help other customers. Double facepalm. At least offer me a free coffee or something. The breakfast sandwiches(eggwhites on brioche and apple sausage on a croissant) were absolutely delicious, though.

This place gets a 5-star for catering. I haven’t been to the actual place, though I probably should, considering how much I love their food! We’ve catered several times from Kitchen M for office lunch, and it is always spot on. I love, LOVE their paninis, Thai chicken, and assortment of cookies. Their tuna steak comes with delicious yuzu dressing. We’ve asked them to make Mediterranean salad that wasn’t on their menu, and they happily accommodated to our request. Their customer service is great, as they like to follow up with how the catering went.

Had a great lunch here yesterday(filet mignon) salad, and have had great take out dinners here in the past(cod or talapia fish, some sides and dessert). This is now my go-to spot in this area for a quick bite or takeout(pan-European food).

I happened upon Kitchen M via a LivingSocial voucher. Despite calling 48 hours ahead of time to choose the content of my picnic lunch and a time for pick-up, we still had to wait around 15 minutes for them to put it together in between helping other customers. Once it was assembled, we were informed that there was still tax left to pay. Totally possible that this was stated in the voucher and my fault so I slapped down my debit card only to be informed of the $ 5.00 minimum. Thus, I picked an additional pastry to get it over and done with and we were off. Fresh salad greens, nice vinaigrette. The sandwiches were decent, but nothing to write home about. Then we get to the fruit cup — FURRYFRUIT, my friends, FURRYFRUIT. Ick. Fortunately the meal was topped off with a nice rum raising pudding, but given the slow service and questionable freshness of our meal, I won’t be hurrying back anytime soon.

A thoroughly adequate bubble-tea joint on the UES.

It’s a shop with a fancy outfit but a subpar content. The white and clean interior is quite attractive but when I entered the shop, there was an overwhelming chocolate scent filling the entire store. It was not the pleasant kind you smell from mommy’s oven but the kind they artificially spray at Hershey park that eventually gives you a headache. The overpriced iced latte($ 4.90/12oz.) was good and concluding from my eavesdropping, I presume their sandwiches and salad choices are pretty decent, too. Oh, and they also have bubble tea which is a rarity in the UES. The problem of this place is with the service and work flow. There are no clear lines for ordering and paying and customers are just randomly scattered in the shop waiting to get served. So when you think it’s your turn to order, they ring up the person who is sitting at a table already eating their food. Workers don’t really have a grasp of what good service is either. It would really help if they would at least smile instead of trying to push the larger size beverage on you.

Kitchen M is a great place to have lunch. It’s right next to Mount Sinai Medical Center, and it’s a favourite for both patients and employees alike– it’s certainly my favourite lunch spot in the area. My go-to meals are their artichoke panini or their soup-half-sandwich combo. I’m also a fan of their almond milk availability, since I prefer that to soy and I’m lactose intolerant. I really recommend their food, and the only flaw I can find with them is that they have too few delicious vegetarian options. However, although I’m not as big a fan of the mushroom truffle as some of my friends, I would rate all of their vegetarian sandwiches as wonderful. Their soups? Just so-so, but definitely nice if you want to add some variety to your lunch. If they had more options for me to choose from, they would get a 5. I’ve never had something I disliked from them. They also participate in Level-Up, so you can get money off your food if you eat there on a pretty regular basis, and give a 10% off discount for Sinai students/volunteers/employees/teachers.

When there’s a big dinner planned ahead, lunch at Kitchen M is perfect-o. I wasn’t too sure standing outside looking in. It looked more of a to-go type of establishment, and it certainly is. But after I noticed 1) a good amount of open eating and 2) the menu … I was sold. So I’m a soup-freak. Hot or cold. Day or night. I want soup. And lucky for me, on this warm summer day in NY, Kitchen M had«chill pea soup with mint.» Yes, yes, yes and yes. I grabbed that with a side of greens — broccolini, spinach, asparagus — and cauliflower. Mmm, veggies. The soup was exactly what my body craved. The veggies? Well cold. Here’s the deal: Everything is pretty much pre-made. That’s great news for the diner on-the-go. But the food that’s just sitting there and served reheated — upon request — is kinda blah to me. If I were to go again, I’d skip the food in the display case and go STRAIGHT to the salads. Oh, those gourmet salads that stand beautifully to the left with the soups, beverages, veggie tamales. Grab one and head straight to the park — my kind of lunch. They also have coffees and teas — which you should enjoy here rather than the Starbucks across the street(drink local). I ordered up a sugar-free latte and it was the perfect mid-day pick-me-up.

Just finished my good(but expensive) lunch from here as a first time and I have to say Yay! I’m a fan! Mozza panini + Thai iced bubble tea = $ 13.xx Ouch, my wallet and I are hurting. I blame the sign that said Bubble tea… Taro, mango, Thai Iced Tea… DANGYOU, pretty, colorful, attractive chalkboard sign! Both were very good and I am happy that if I need my bubble tea fix I can come here although the bubble tea is not as cheap as say, Quicklys or Chatime. But many have to realize that we ARE in the UES, so don’t expect good food at dirt cheap prices. Will most likely come here once in awhile so I don’t end up sacrificing my wallet to this place. lol The portions are huge! I can easily save the other half of my panini for dinner or tomorrow’s lunch if I wanted to.

Pretty close to flawless for lunch delivery on the UES. Tried 2 sandwich options: A chicken panino was made with a whole piece of flavorful, moist chicken breast on grilled ciabatta. The other was a cold turkey/avocado. Wow. They both excellent, big enough to share, and made tidily enough to eat over a desk. The Napa vegetable soup was piping hot and full of beans, potatoes, and carrots. And the coffee was fantastic. Although it’s packaged well, it arrives half in the cup and half in the enclosing plastic bag. Oh well, nothing’s perfect.

The neighborhood desperately needed this quick eat-in or to-go gourmet café. Think Champignon but higher quality, more appealing food, a markedly better bang for the buck, cleaner surroundings, and friendlier staff. While lunch here will run you $ 10 and up, the food is of high quality and portions are generous. I had the excellent smoked turkey panino, but the other sandwiches were also tempting(truffle mushroom, Cuban, caprese), as were the more elaborate lunch options of fish with roasted vegetables, soups, etc.

Kitchen M just opened recently, so I had to check it out. It’s a small, clean café that serves paninis and entrees, in addition to your usual café fare. For this first visit, I ordered the Cubano panini, which I enjoyed. I liked the garlic aioli and the roast pork loin, which was very tender and moist! Will definitely visit again.

It’s about time we got another eatery to join us here in The Sinai Pits, as the depressing lack of appetizing lunch options in this area is truly appalling. About two weeks ago, I was walking around this wasteland trying to convince myself that I could actually stomach yet another lunch from Subway, Famiglia, the hospital cafeteria, or Dunkin’Damn’Donuts, before realizing that after nearly 2 years eating at these places, I had had enough. Lo and behold, the newly opened Kitchen M appeared to me out of the blue, emanating an angelic glow and beckoning me in. It’s a small joint, and at first, I panicked slightly because its décor reminded me of a sterile, hospital room(NOMORE, PLEASE) but eventually I realized it works, lending the place a sleek, minimalist vibe. Their paninis are as gourmet as it gets — options include truffle mushroom, filet mignon with chipotle mayo, chorizo, etc. — and every one I’ve tried so far has been mind-blowingly delicious. There’s also an array of fancy meat options that include cajun salmon, chicken marsala, poached salmon in truffle sauce, etc., along with a starch and vegetable for $ 11. I can see this making a great choice for dinner one night if you’re feeling particular lazy, don’t wanna cook, and cringe at the thought of blowing that same amount on a soggy burrito from a Seamless Web vendor. I haven’t visited for breakfast, but they also had some breakfast sandwiches in the display window that looked very well-crafted, with fresh, exciting ingredients that were a step up from your usual egg & cheese on a bagel. There’s a bunch of shelves stacked with cold sandwiches that are again a cut above the norm, and I remember seeing an array of Chicken XO sammiches and some very appetizing, creative salads. They also offer bubble tea, though I didn’t try that out since I still can’t wrap my head around the idea of squishy balls lurking in my liquidy beverage waiting to ambush me through the straw. The downside? Price. Realistically, I can’t see myself consistently eating here. Each of their sandwiches costs between $ 8 – 11 alone, so throwing in a bag of chips and a drink adds up to a $ 12 – 13 lunch every time. Most of the salads and cold sandwiches hover around the $ 10 mark too. They offer a 10% ‘broke student’ discount to mitigate the pain which is a nice gesture, but at the end of the day 10% is still just 10%. The clientele seemed to reinforce that notion, as I spied quite a few housewives and their tethered poodles on my way in. Regardless, on those days when I simply can’t force another mediocre lunch down my throat, I’m glad that a wallet-burning oasis such as this exists. Welcome to the neighby, Kitchen M!

Dang this place is good. Especially for a newly opened establishment, they seem to be running quite smoothly. A friend and I popped in for lunch the other day and couldn’t decide what to get, so each of us got a sandwich and then also shared a salad. There was also some boba involved. I went with the filet mignon sandwich with chipotle mayo and the friend opted for the truffle mushroom sandwich. We were so impressed by the flavors that even though we only planned to eat half our sandwiches, we scarfed them down in their entirety. The bread was fresh and nicely crisped. The fillings were so flavorful and well cooked. And even though the place was quite crowded, our food was served rather quickly. The salad we shared came from the pre-made cooler, and I might have been a tad skeptical about the freshness of a salad already in a box, but it was also quite tasty. We went with the southwest chicken salad. A hearty portion, fresh ingredients, and a zesty dressing. The taro bubble tea was also a hit with my friend. So basically when I want to class it up for lunch but I’m on a schedule, I will definitely come here. I’m excited to try some of the desserts that looked so scrumptious, and maybe venture out into the other showcased entrée items. Definitely a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Thank you Kitchen M for answering my prayers for a better café in the area! It definitely beats out the mass of poor, premade cafes on the fringe of of UES and El Bario. And…(expensive) BOBA! When walking by, a block past Champignon, I noticed the large glass windows and doors with a clean, almost sterile white tables as the staff was closing up. I walked by the next day to try the fare. Average sandwich is 9 and has many options for the vegetarian and omnivore. Unfortunately, they have no options for the vegetarian salad eater. Also on the menu was a breakfast with custom omelets and some baked goods. They also have meat entrees and some pastas. The pastas and other premade, cold items(including sandwiches) did not look very appetizing to me. The co-owner informed me they baked everything fresh earlier in the morning. The croissant I had was over-baked at too high of a temperature — a bit too crispy on the outside and dried out. Edible but I probably won’t order it again — maybe I will try other baked sweets. As for the boba(bubble tea) — good, but it could have been filled to the brim, the boba itself should have been cooled to be a little less chewy. It firmed up a bit in the drink itself. 3.75 though?! The saving grace? Mushroom Truffle sandwich. The truffle was a great level and the fontina did not overpower. I really wanted to try the other options and am excited to try them soon. For the price, I will come back for the sandwhiches and even omlettes but probably not for the other options. I would have only given them 3.5 stars in almost any other area, but in East Harlem, it earns the extra .5 star.
