giving this place a solid 4.5! the food is decent(though i wish my naan was a bit thinner and flakier, but that’s personal preference.) the curry is great and the ingredients are really fresh tasting. i am super finicky about meat in my indian curry because it is too easy to overcook the meat or some places cut costs as use fatty, cheaper, less desirable meat chunks hoping the curry will hide the taste/quality. that being said, the spicy hyderabadi style chicken 65 was faaaaantastic! the best part of my meal was the overwhelmingly wonderful customer service. i am training for an upcoming spicy curry eating contest and the gentleman who helped me was patient, informative, helpful, and generous. so was the older lady(his mom perhaps?). this place is great for: affordable prices, fast food, delicious food, centrally located, helpful staff, halal meat things to consider about this place: has sit down but is focused more on grab & go, cash only, food is not warmed so ask to have it heated or heat it at home, menu is preset so modifications are difficult to accommodate

I choose vegetables, brown rice and chicken curry which is only 6.99 for dinner. The curry is the best. Very rich and they use chicken drum which is my favorite part of chicken. I don’t really know what was the vegetable that i ordered but it was tasty and well seasoned. I would come back again for trying other curry choices. The staff says they open 24 hours a day.

Good. Not mind blowing. Quick and easy if you are in a pinch and craving some indian food. Curry lacked spice, but the veggies were solid. Rice was just OK.

Got the lunch special. Food was very bland and about as basically prepared as can be. It kind of got the job done but I didn’t get any enjoyment out of eating there. The fact that be lunch special is only $ 7 is all you need to know. Stay away.

An adorable hole in the wall! The service is really friendly and the portions are huge for the prices. It seems like a restaurant that was accidentally transported from Queens into the middle of the Flatiron District. Snap a couple of pictures of the building and bounce here after for amazing chickpeas, naan, and goat!

Your typical hole in the wall New York restaurant. Don’t be fooled by how the place looks cause the food here is heavenly. These guys make the best nihari I have ever had.

LOVETHISPLACE! $ 8, large portion, high-quality Indian food. What more can you ask for? Not only is chicken tikka masala with channa and naan a great deal, it’s absolutely stellar. In tandem with the smiling faces of the staff, this place is THE spot in the area for a quick and delicious Indian meal(I like this place much more than Chandni). Highly recommended, will go again 10⁄10 A++++ Please say hi to the extremely grateful older gentleman there for me, I very much enjoy talking to him.

Excellent homemade food. very good service. Super nice people. super cheap.their lunch special is $ 7.00 and you get more than your money’s worth! Clean but worn, pretty much like a mom&pop kinda joint. Will definitely go back when in the area.

This is my kind of place. When you live in Brooklyn, sometimes you just want to say«screw vibe, elegance, & trendiness… Give me a pile of awesome food for cheap!!» & then they give it to you. Spinach, lentil, chick peas, cabbage, okra, potatoes, fish, lamb, beef, chicken, goat, kabobs… damn. Nothing sucks here. The great thing about this place is you can eat extremely healthy or not. Huge value & flavor here. Go here when you’re hungry. Don’t go here when you’re trying to make your way up the corporate or social ladder.

Love love love! The atmosphere is cozy and homey like they’ve been around for years. The owner is a small sweet lady and the food is really great! Much better than that place next door.

Great food, great service, atmosphere is a bit run down but who cares when the food tastes so great! If you’re not used to AUTHENTIC Indian food & spices, take it easy here, it may cause you some stomach troubles.

If your reading this you probably have a question should I go here or the one next to it called chandni right. Well I have tried both prices are the same. Food quantity is slightly more at chandni. ROTI, s of this place are truly amazing great u will have to wait if u order Roti with your meal but it’s very well worth it. Food taste and service good here too. Overall atmosphere better. Open 24 hours.

This is by far the best Indian food I’ve ever had!!! The best chicken masala ever and I don’t even really like Indian food!!! It’s totally a hole on the wall and was recommended by our cab driver. We loved it so much, we had it 3 times while we were visiting NY. We were only there for 4 days! We even had the leftover for breakfast! I wish they had this stuff here in California. Sometimes I still think about it and crave it. :(

Lasani is that Indian place I always glanced at askance on my way to Chandni. But this last time I was in a more adventurous mode and looked in, lured by the $ 5.99 price tag. For that you get a generous portion of two veggie dishes and some rice. The lady manning(or wo-manning) the buffet first tried to sell me a «ready» lunchbox that was obviously rejected for some reason by a previous costumer. On most days I would consider this $ 1 discount(or even bargain for more), but Lasani and I were not yet in a circle of trust, and starting off our relationship with a mystery lunch box was not the way I wanted to go. The propietress relented and served me the normal way. Despite the«A» awarded it by the Health Department, Lasani seems to have collected several reviews skeptical of its commitment to cleanliness of preparation and presentation. I cannot vouch for its culinary hygiene but experienced no gastric disturbances, so take that for what it’s worth. The food was good. I went with chickpeas and a squash stew, both of which were really great. There’s little décor to speak off, but it does have a really homey family feel, with folks who seem to be friends or relatives of the family sitting around reading the paper and playing with their kids.
