This station is like most on the LIRR outdoors. It has decent enclosed shelter. It’s normally clean. I cannot blame the LIRR for the slobs that smoke or drink and leave rubbish behind. This is a older station so expect no elevators and about 15 steps to climb I think the Rosedale station and I know Jamaica has elevators.
Make sure you buy your tickets prior to boarding or you get hit with a surcharge that could double your ticket price.
Then the ride on average 22 minutes vs 1.15 and bus train combo
Cost is on average 4 times more than regular transit during rush hour west or east off peak about 2.5 times more.
This line is on the RockAway branch weekdays and Long Beach weekends.
Also effective November 2012 I know this station is undergoing a overhaul so some exits may be closed
