Had the best grilled cheese here. Went with a classic and added heirloom tomatoes! It was perfect, super warm and comforting to eat. I also paired it with a tomato bisque, but i felt that was too salty for me. My boyfriend ordered the pancetta grilled cheese and that was also way salty. We both agreed that for grilled cheese, you should stick with the classics and not go too crazy with adding other strong flavors. Because why would you want all those flavors to take away from what you really want to enjoy… melted cheese in between buttery toast… mmmmmm… so good!

Great grilled cheese but overpriced. I really love grilled cheese sandwiches, who doesnt! I had the crispy pancetta which is basically just bacon. The bread was perfectly toasted and the sandwich was really tasty and a great combo but I have to say though, for grilled cheese you don’t really get your monies worth. There wasn’t much pancetta on there and it didn’t blow my mind for $ 11.50. At most it was worth $ 6 – 7. I probably won’t be back, even though the sandwich was good it wasn’t worth the price.

A tiny little store with great grilled cheese choices. We had the Crispy Pancetta and the No. 1 with added avocado and fried egg. Both were delicious. They also have gluten free and lactose free substitutions, which is nice.

Finally trying this spot! I love grilled cheese and heard great things on different sites about this spot. Very small spot with not many seats. We ordered the pork belly sandwich and the butternut squash, both good but definitely preferred the butternut squash.

Well, isn’t this little place charming? Normally, I’d shake my head at a grilled cheese restaurant and keep walking, but today I was beyond hungry, and the idea of cheese — especially melted cheese — was too good to pass up. I ended up sampling the avocado and scrambled egg white on toast covered in a delicate and delicious parmesan cheese and it was honestly just about perfect. Added to it is that the folks who work there are friendly, and the space is comfortable and cheerful. When that cheese craving calls, Little Muenster is the cure.

This joint is quite small, but a gorgeous little joint to get a grilled cheese during the day. I always appreciate a well made grilled cheese with substantial bread and a strong tasty cheese and this Little Muenster did that.

I think I just flew to heaven & back. I keep asking myself: «did that really just happen??» My background, I’ve been making grilled cheese sandwiches legitimately on my own since I was 10 years old. Been a foodie at fine dining to fast food restaurants since the age of 15. I’m a student at the International Culinary Center(also known as the French Culinary Institute) for pastry. What I got: Avocado spread grilled cheese Tomato soup What I loved about this experience was that the grilled cheese wasn’t too greasy/buttery(IMO) & that the cheeses are high quality. THATTOMATOSOUP!!! Someone took the time & dedication to perfecting a tomato soup… & it’s definitely here! Straight up THEBEST I’ve EVER had. Go, go, & go. You’ll thank me later ;)

You can’t beat a good grilled cheese sandwich! We split the beef brisket with horseradish Havarti and crispy onions and the Candied bacon Stilton Blue Cheese & Apples… really tasty, and the service was terrific! I’m sure you would enjoy whatever combo you tried… definitely going back here …

There’s really nothing better than a really good grilled cheese sandwich to end a rather weird night. After my friends had a horrid time at Amuse(see that review for that experience), we went bar hopping for a little bit. And since they were still hungry(since they didn’t like their dinners) and the meatball shop still had a bit of a wait, I introduced them to the amazingness of Little Muenster. While it’s a little pricey, I think it’s totally worth it. On the night we went, the restaurant was a bit empty but that just meant that we(aka my friends) could sing along to the new Beyonce album [it had just come out]. I don’t think I have any shame when I’m out with my friends. And drunk. They both enjoyed their sandwiches(thank goodness — they have seriously picky tastes). If I remember correctly, one got the Pig Belly and the other got the BLT. I ended up getting the Asiago — my favorite sandwich on the menu(although the candied bacon is a close runner-up). I kind of wanted some tomato soup but I was already pretty full — maybe next time, when I’m a little drunker and a little hungrier.

I wanted to like this place. It’s really cute and my waitress was nice. But I ordered the gouda with pork belly and caramelized onions and was really disappointed. It was just very bland for all those ingredients. It also cost $ 13, which was outrageous.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon while we were walking through LES. I am vegan and gluten so I was delighted to see that they could make grilled cheese to accommodate for my dietary restrictions — by replacing with daiyya cheese and gluten free bread. The sign near the checkout counter says additional $ 2 for the making the sandwich vegan and GF. I ordered the caramelized onion grilled cheese(which is $ 8.75) and was charged an additional $ 4 instead of the $ 2 that I was expecting for the replacements. When I asked the server, she said it is $ 2 each and not $ 2 total. Honestly, I felt it was a complete rip off — $ 4 for the options on an $ 8.75 sandwich. I am a New Yorker but it is still a little ridiculous to pay $ 13 for grilled cheese. The sandwich itself lacked seasoning I thought. It was ok in flavor but definitely not worth the amount this place is charging for it. I would definitely not return. If you are willing to spend $ 10+ on a grilled cheese this place might be good for you, otherwise they are plenty of other options in the neighborhood.

I wanted to love this place, but just didn’t. Décor is cute, seats about 10 people +/-. Counter seating needs hooks for purses, but that’s not a huge deal. What did disappoint was that there were a lot of crumbs on the counter that never got wiped off even though the employee saw them(and picked up a larger sized one with her fingers… but didn’t come back with a rag for the rest). I got the butternut squash sandwich. It was good but not that memorable. I was satisfied though. Comes with a side of cole slaw & pickles — and by a side that’s like 4 bites, so you might want to order a little something on the side. Music was an odd choice. I’d call it trace-y, but that’s probably not the musically correct term. But, it sounded like club/trippy music rather than eat-a-sandwich-music. That’s a matter of personal taste though, I admit. Not great, not terrible, just kinda THERE.

What a cute little place. It’s very small and there are about 4 tables. I love their sandwiches — so creative and so delish. Cheese, butter, bread… how could you go wrong? They also sell temporary tattoos, which is really fun at 2 in the morning.

Finally a place that is known for their Grilled Cheese. Yes Yes Yes!!! I enjoy simple food and it does not get any simpler than a Grilled Cheese sandwich. You can not mess up a grilled cheese sandwich. A cute and very tiny little place. I like the environment. Our waitress was very friendly. Originally I wanted to get a Patty La Frieda Melt, but they ran out today. Instead by suggestion of our waitress, I went with the Chicken Mole with southwest cheddar & sour cream. I also ordered a small tomato soup. The tomato soup was nothing special. Just your ordinary tomato soup. The grilled cheese, I definitely enjoyed. Definitely had southwestern taste to it and it was tasty. Most grilled cheeses I’ve had are usually on the greasy side, but this was not the case which is a plus. A great place to get a quick simple lunch or quick simple dinner. FYI: There is a Little Muenster in Brooklyn and they are opening one in the Financial District.

I’m a Grilled Cheese Fan and I was very excited to try this place out. Here’s what you gotta know: 1) It’s a tiny place and it has about 4 tables inside. I recommend coming during a time when it’s not busy. The waitress is super nice! I heard they are opening up another location in the Financial District. 2) I was really hoping for a prosciutto sandwich(which Unilocal pictures show), but it was a seasonal item and they just don’t make it anymore. My second option was their classic with tomato and bacon. It was EXCELLENT!!! I LOVEDIT! It had just the right combination of cheese and the bread was nicely buttered(but not greasy) and toasted. I also ordered a small tomato soup and I thought that was like any other typical tomato soup you find at Pret or Europa. I found this place to be pricey for a grilled cheese sandwich, but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy my sandwich. Definitely worth a try! 3) One thing that caught my eye was their Bone Marrow Butter for an additional $ 1 – 2. It was tempting but I decided to pass on it. Maybe you can be the next brave soul to try it.

Guys, really? Grilled cheese gone wrong. The sandwich that was delivered to my door looked like 4 crispy pieces of gluten-free bread with no toppings mashed together. Also, the large soup? I couldn’t even split it between the two of us! After its late arrival and sad presentation, I won’t be recommending Little Muenster.

Today I experienced the greatness that is this grilled cheese shop. I ordered a grilled cheese with beef brisket and it may have been one of the best things that I have ever eaten. My roommate got one with squash. It was delicious, but could have used more squash. This place takes grilled cheese to a whole new level. I was one happy customer.

A speck of a soup and sandwich shop, where you order one of the half-dozen melted cheese concoctions through a Dutch door, only for the final produce to emerge less than 10 minutes later from that same small piece of counter. The place is as cute as the name, with white walls and painted white wood furniture. You may even be served by one-half of the owner-operater couple, who opened the place just a couple years ago. I had a pork belly sandwich, as I thought it best to go full hog when having an upscale take on a childhood classic. The gooey gouda is a good match to sop up the succulent fat of the pork belly. A few caramelized onions add some spice to the salt and fat. It’s a sinful dish hiding inside of two pieces of bread. The only worrying sign here is the website, which distressingly describes the eatery as a «fast-casual grilled cheese concept» and talks of future franchising. Make I suggest a little rebranding of my own and call this place the maker of a damn fine lunch.

The menu here seems to rotate, so some of the delicious looking sandwiches you see on Unilocal might not be available. This was the case for me, but I still enjoyed what I ordered; gruyère, smoked mozzarella and muenster. It came with a small(baby) handful of some roughage with some dressing that I didn’t particularly care for. The sandwich wasn’t very filling, but still delicious and satisfying. The bread is nice and thin, buttered and toasted to perfection, and filled with a good amount of perfectly melted cheese. This is a small restaurant, so seating is quite limited. I was with one other person and we were able to find seats on a Saturday afternoon, but maybe we got lucky. I’m sort of struggling between three and four stars. The food is delicious, but a sandwich alone isn’t very filling, seating is limited, and having an almost completely rotating menu knock it down to three, at least for now.

What an adorable grilled cheese eatery. I love the idea of a restaurant being dedicated solely to grilled cheese sandwiches. I love almost every type of cheese so I love that this place offers many options besides cheddar and american. My friend and I split the proscuitto, fontina, grueyere, membrillo and the maytag blue cheese, muenster, bacon marmalade, avocado. Talk about a lot of flavor packed into a sandwich. Not greasy and soooo cheesy. The best part? The sandwiches are served in adorable trays.
