Lupita’s Restaurant

Lupita’s is the real deal. I’m not sure why a lot of Mexican restaurants on the UES can’t get their guacamole right– it’s very simple. But Lupita’s is my goto spot. They have awesome guacamole, quesadillas, fajitas, etc.
My only complaint is delivery can take a bit long– but it’s worth the wait if you want good Mexican!

So, after being really happy with Lupitas and their excellent food for a year, we had a really bad customer service experience last week. So bad I went on here and gave them a 1 star and we were ready to never order from here again.
Amazingly, the owner called me on monday and apologized profusely I came up with appropriate compensation. Frankly I never wanted a handout, but it was very appreciated nonetheless and shows he appreciates his local customers (my group of friends has spent over $ 1000 with them in the last 8 months!).
As for the food, it is always good. I am a big fan of the tacos, the alambres and the guac. Really, everyone loves the guac, its fresh and is a huge portion. There are many excellent mexican places up here, but this is one of our favorites.
