LOVED THIS PLACE!
First time I went, the gate was broken and I was heart broken. The next time I went, I made sure to call ahead of time. Eddie was so awesome on the phone and squeezed me into the schedule. He listened to my complaints about my hair and how I cry at hair salons when my cuts are not good (glad that didn’t scare him!). He understood and did a lot to comfort me and told me to just trust him.
In the end, my hair looked BOMB. my bangs looked BOMB. and the head massage during the hair wash was BOMB. Need I not say more, head over there ASAP.
PS– the music there is awesome too! EDM FTW

My girlfriend needed her weekly blow dry at this cute place and came with her. I ended up with a haircut and been super satisfied. Which is rare.

Great service, professional attitude. Came here prior to my engagement shoot for hair and makeup. I was very happy with the final results. I have to admit at first I was worried cause I thought I came out too formal looking for a casual engagement photo session but the pictures came out great. Eddie and Cathy knew what they were doing and did a terrific job. Thanks a lot guys!

We hosted a pre party glam session before a charity gala at Mak Beauty Bar and they definitely went above and beyond to deliver. It’s such a cute spot and a great location. Prices are so reasonable for NYC.
Eddie made us feel very welcome. We were a decent sized group and had the place to ourselves. We got to chat and drink champagne as we got ready, getting our hair and make up done. All of our girls looked amazing.
Highly recommend for a ladies night or bachelorette party! They are so accommodating and nice to work with. You will definitely have a great time and feel fab. Thank you Eddie + Tiffany!

Eddie is the best! I got to know him in another salon where he used to work, back then he saved my hair (I had horrible haircut and terrible hair color). Since then I fallow him. He’s very easy going and does exactly what you want and more. Always improving your idea to turn it into something you will love.

Found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot. I never cut my hair at the same place because I never found a stylist that listened to me AND gave me what I wanted. That’s all changed! Eddie is great at what he does and he will give you his honest opinion about what looks good on you or not. Definitely give this salon a shot. They are offering 25% off all services, so hurry and go; you won’t be disappointed! I’ll be back for a color soon.

Absolutely love my color and haircut. I do not trust anyone with my hair but Eddie. His honesty is what keeps me a loyal customer. I wanted to dye my hair light (which I never did before) and he suggested light hair on me might not be the best option just because of my skin completion. He was able to mix up a color which I love! He provided me tips on how to blow dry and take care of my hair color to keep it long lasting.

To start off great location, I’m usually in the LES and this salon would save me a lot of walking. Also the price is very reasonable. Eddie was my stylist, he was very friendly and accommodating to my every request. He did an exceptional job on my hair and even gave me tips as I left. Highly recommended! Can’t wait to be back on my next visit! Happy this salon came to this neighborhood!

Eddie is a lifesaver!
I got a horrible cut and color at another salon Sunday afternoon and frantically called around LES to see if anyone could squeeze me in for an emergency fix at least to the cut. Eddie agreed to stay late to get me in that night. He did an amazing job! Exactly what I wanted.
He offered to stay even later to help work out the color problem, but I’m going to make another appointment for that. After the amazing cut I felt confident going into work Monday morning sans hat.
I’m so happy and relieved to have found a new competent, rad stylist in my neighborhood. I’ll be going back and referring everyone I know!

Incredible. I love this place. So classy, peaceful and incredibly good at what they do. I would go back every week if I coukd. The prices are wonderful too. So grateful for this oasis in the chaos of the city.

Had a great experience at Mak Beauty Bar. I’ve been looking for a stylist for years. Finally someone that knows hair. Ed was great answering all my questions. Everyone in there was very professional and nice. The beauty bar was very modern and beautiful. I definitely recommend this place.

Highly recommended! I finally found a salon I plan to regularly visit! This place is brand new and I desperately needed a hair cut and if not today then I wouldn’t have time again for a couple of weeks so I walked in.
I started with the usual hair washing but also upgraded to a scalp treatment. I upgraded for the scalp treatment since my scalp has been dry and itchy from the cold weather. I didn’t expect to enjoy it though. I have to disclose that I really dislike having someone wash my hair. I don’t know why but I’m just uncomfortable with it. I didn’t ask what was involved, I assumed it would be a product that would then be massaged in but I was so wrong. I’m not sure what products were used because I thought I died and went to heaven. The woman somehow relaxed me so much so that I fell into a deep enough sleep to start dreaming! I woke up to her massaging my neck, shoulders, and upper back. I basically received a free upper body massage with my scalp treatment! She then escorted me to a styling station for my haircut.
The salon owner and head stylist, Ed, was very welcoming and professional. He asked if I was happy with the service which I sleepily said «yes» I would’ve been more enthusiastic about my answer but I was too relaxed. He then asked how I would like my hair done or if he could make a suggestion. I gave him a vague idea of what I wanted, he offered a suggestion which I agreed to, and he went to work. Ed did a great job with my hair. I’m often cautious about a new stylist taking off more than I had asked but Ed did exactly as he had said he would. He also uses I technique I hadn’t seen before. He actually holds 2 hairdryers in one hand while styling my hair. My hair turned out shinier and fuller than usual. I don’t know if it was the 2 dryer technique or the products that he used or a combination of both. The products he used were great too. It’s some kind of organic line that smelled yummy, almost like candy but not overwhelming. It made me think of having a daiquiri on a beach. Overall I had a fantastic experience and plan on being a regular customer. Call for an appointment since I anticipate this place to get busy once the word gets out.
