Nice venue… barely 80 seats. If you’re lucky you can find street parking not too far away. Seats are comfy not huge, but ot the tightest fit. It IS onthe 4th floor… if youre healthy you can walk up — but there is a small elevator. Situated nearby to a wide selection of restaurants — its a good off-off broadway alternative !

The McGinn/Cazale Theatre is a super tiny, intimate theatre — even smaller than the Second Stage Theatre! There’s bound to be a great view of the stage, no matter where you sit. So you walk up four flights of stairs(it’s a nice little workout going up, pretty hard going down tipsy), and then you walk down more stairs to your seat. This theatre, which hosts Second Stage Theatre’s summer series, is great if you want to see new, unheard of plays and avoid the tourists in Times Square. You’re basically squished into tiny seats with close to little legroom, but you endure it because the shows here are often amazing. It’s also often really cold, so bring a sweater, just in case. If you arrive early, you can walk around the foyer and read about past productions done in the theatre, but there isn’t anything else to do. So get here with just enough time to make it to your seat, and enjoy the show!

It’s a pretty nice theatre once you’re in there, intimate and with great views from all seats. Not the most easily accessible if you had difficulty wiith stairs — make sure you get seats near the back. But why oh why do they have to keep the theatre at Arctic temperatures? The usher confirmed it was always that cold which is why they encourage all patrons to bring a sweater. I just don’t understand the logic myself… There’s not exactly a great deal of foyer space or entertainment, so don’t leave yourself too much time before the show. John Cazale is a legend, so it’s nice to see his theatre even if it is hidden on the third floor of a fairly unexciting building. Good area for eats and transport. I saw Year Zero here, which was reasonably entertaining, but this review is just for the space itself.

I was recently here to watch MazelTov Cocktail… funny how I didn’t get my orientation right and had to walk a few blocks westwards to finally get here. Regardless, for the awesome $ 8 promo tickets I scored, the production was enjoyable(Had I paid more for the tickets, the enjoyment factor would have diminished slightly) — I loved the ethnic accent Jamie Fox pulled. With regards to the theatre, aside from the pain that I had to climb up a couple of stairs to get there… the theatre itself is rather cosy and made for an enjoyable space.

Saw Animals out of Paper there recently — excellent play by Rajiv Joseph… Decent location and close to a bunch of restaurants for post– show munchies… The theatre itself– I think the box office is located on the top floor and the theatre is one floor below. Very intimate and comfortable seatings– I thought it was perfect for«Paper»… which was awesome ! One thing, ORCLB10… It says B8 but It’s actually B10… just there as a sobriety test…
