After calling the restaurant to check on my order(which was about 30 minutes AFTER the projected delivery time, making my wait time about 1hr and 15 min), I was greeted by a woman who did not speak English, and would only respond in Spanish. She then transferred me to another man who spoke very poor, mostly incomprehensible English. Beware — communicating with the employees at this restaurant is the equivalent of speaking to a brick wall. The gentleman on the phone managed to say that the restaurant was«really busy,» which is hardly an excuse when they estimated their delivery time at 45 – 55 minutes on Seamless, and after me giving them a 30 minute grace period on top of that estimate. Then he gave the excuse that the restaurant was 12 city blocks from my location… which comes out to about 0.5−0.6 mile. Buddy, that’s what delivery is FOR. If this restaurant can only deliver to locations right across the street or 3 blocks away, then obviously it can’t handle take-out operations and should switch to pick-up only. I told him to cancel my order, which he did not understand either. I had to call Seamless to get a refund, and wasted over 1 and ½ hours of my time on this sorry excuse for a business establishment. A language barrier of this magnitude is absolutely unacceptable. It’s a disgrace to staff a restaurant exclusively with people who only respond to customers in Spanish, or at best are able to communicate with customers at a sub-preschool level of English. As for food: I’ve ordered from here before(about a year ago) and the meal was slightly below average. The quesadilla tastes a little weird, like they’re using old oil or as if there was some kind of eggy residue on the grill… very strange. The lengua taco was acceptable, though a bit mushier than expected.

Working in Hamilton Heights(still Spanish Harlem) on the late shift, it can be difficult to find good food during the off hours. Mi Casita has more than met the standard — with no complaints! Mi Casita is a cozy«hole-in-the-wall» Mexican restaurant on Amsterdam ave that serves AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine. The food has a very homely feel, rich in the traditional spices used in Mexican cooking. I had the unique opportunity of discovering this place a week after returning from Cancun for a wedding. The food here was like a continuation of my vacation, it’s that good! I have yet to find anything here that I don’t like. I fearlessly try new menu items in an attempt to widen my palette range. WARNING: their big burritos are NOJOKE — expanded versions of their normal burrito. For perspective, the big burrito is twice the size of a Chipotle burrito or more — with tons more extras and nobody stiffing you with 1 scoop of protein! Lol If you like Mexican food, but want a truer experience than Big Box stores like Chipotle and others… This is the way to go! I recommend their burritos of any size, enchiladas and flautas. They make great Tortas(Mexican sandwich) as well. Enjoy!

Grocery bought, poorly wrapped tortilla, fatty, tough steak, more cheese than rice, and salsa that tastes more like ketchup than actual tomato makes for a god awful burrito. This was one of the worse burritos I’ve ever had, I also ordered the guac and cream on the side. Didn’t get any cream and the guac came in a container so small that it was barely enough for a few chips let alone a burrito. The rice was well cooked, too bad there wasn’t much in the burrito. I also order chips and salsa, the salsa came in a coffee cup and looked like they just poured it out of a bargain basement bulk tub of salsa. Costco has better salsa than this place. It was disgusting. I will never order from this place again and I honestly don’t know how this place has any good reviews. As someone who has lived in places with amazing Mexican and Tex-Mex this is a disgrace especially since it’s more expensive than some of the hole-in-the-walls with MUCH better food.

Bought a torta through GrubHub for pick up. The order was ready as soon as I got there. I asked for specific things to not be on my sandwich and they had my order correct. On top of that the milanesa torta was delicious! They were also very friendly people.

This place is super yum! The best Mexican food we’ve had in NYC. We ordered on GrubHub and got the Queso Enchilladas, a bunch of tacos including the Al Pastor Taco, regular Huaraches, and Pollo a la Brasa Burrito. Delivery time was good esp for winter. We live 10 blocks away, and it took a little under 45 mins. Everything was very flavorful. I was very impressed. Will def order again.

Ordered to go. Messed up my order. Called when I got home and they didn’t speak English and hung up on me. They also shorted me on the chicken wing order. Supposed to get 10 wings and I got 8. I asked for no sour cream on my burrito because of my friends allergy and they put it on.

I ordered dinner for myself at 8:30 and it didn’t arrive until 10:15. I called twice while I was waiting to inquire about my meal. I was told that it would get to me in 5 minutes and that they had made a mistake with the delivery. Then they told me the delivery man hadn’t take my food out yet. By the time I got my food it was cold and damp(gross). I ate it anyway because I was super hungry at this point. It lacked in taste and was below average even for NYC burritos. Don’t order from here!

I wanted to try a different Mexican place from my usual one in the neighborhood for variety’s sake. i placed my order at 2:08, estimated delivery said 3:19pm so I was expecting a little over an hour wait even though I’m very close by. At 3:30 food still had not arrived so I called the restaurant and was told the delivery guy had already left. I asked if they could please call him to make sure he could find the address and get an expected time of delivery but i was told«ok ok ok». At 3:45 and still no delivery I decide to call them back and cancel the order. I was hung up on. I called back killing them with kindness and said perhaps we got«disconnected» and then the woman on the phone refused to cancel my order, as I was about to contact GrubHub to get my money back the delivery guy arrives, I feel bad for him because it was obviously not his fault. I touched the food and it was hot so I took it. Bad mistake! Not only was the girl on the phone rude, they took forever but the food was not fresh. Carnitas tacos were ok, not fresh ingredients and the Chile Relleno was old and the cheese stale. Never again, I would recommend the«other» Mexican restaurant nearby. Fresh ingredients, decent delivery times and better quality meat.

If I could give it 0 stars I would! Horrible tacos for $ 3 each. Not worth it at all, save yourself.

I ordered an al pastor burrito from Mi Casita and I was not impressed. The meat in my burrito was scarce as it was mostly filled with cheese and rice with beans. The salsas were mediocre as well. I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular from this restaurant, as it is in manhattan, but there’s definitely better restaurants than this one. Although the delivery man was very nice, I would not order food from here again.

Terrible experience. I stopped in for a late lunch and the staff spoke VERY limited English They yelled to each other in Spanish and I had to point to the menu items to order. Once I ordered, the server was VERY slow and rude to me. I had to ask for refills. The burrito was OK, nothing special. Once the bill came, the prices did not match the menu. When I pointed this out she could not understand and charged me the wrong price(which was more). I will never go back and I recommend you stay away.

We ordered food from Mi Casita through grub hub. It took an hour and twenty minutes for our food to arrive, so by the time it got here we were all starving. When we opened up the bags, we found they had left out an entire entrée. I was beyond disappointed. When I called to ask what happened to the other entrée, I just had time to explain what happened before the lady answering the phone apparently put it down and started arguing with somebody in the restaurant. I waited and listened to that for a few minutes before hanging up. When I tried to call again, the phone was busy! So all of that warrants a one-star review. I’m giving it two stars, though, because the beef and carnitas tacos were pretty good. We also tried the chicken enchiladas(chicken was dry, and there was almost no sauce on the enchiladas) and chicken posole(eh). I would possibly try this place again if I had a yen for tacos and was willing to go there in person to pick up the food, so I could check that it was all there and wouldn’t have to wait an obscene amount of time.

¡Muy rico! I was nervous about ordering from this restaurant without reading any reviews, but boy was I wrong. We got a chicken chimichanga, chicken tacos, steak tacos, rice and chips. The chimichanga wasn’t too greasy and was perfectly moist inside. The chicken tacos were a little dry, but the steak tacos tasted delicious(yummy noms). The rice was moist and excellent. The service was efficient and polite. The delivery man was probably the nicest delivery man I have encountered in NYC and I received a phone call clarifying part of my order. I will definitely order from this place again.
