OK, what can I say about Mike that I haven’t said twice already? This dude is the best. He’s the coolest, most reliable and responsive moving guy ever. Nothing fazes him… rain, heat, stairs… whatever. He just does what needs to be done, with a friendly and positive attitude, and is always on time. For better or worse, Mike has a regular customer here. I wouldn’t call anyone else.

Mike is amazing – he is nice, pleasant, efficient, and CHEAP. He charges by the hour, but doesn’t waste time as less honest movers may do. I used him twice now, and will definitely be recommending him to my friends. Note that his van is not huge, so it’s best for smaller moves. I had enough stuff to fit in a studio/1-bedroom, and that is about all his van can hold, so if you have more than that he’d have to take more than 1 trip.

The«Mike The Mover» that I used totally screwed me. Sounded great on the phone. Moved my brother-in-law without any problems, but when it came to moving me, he showed up on time and then left without any explanation! Wouldn’t answer my calls when I tried to find out where he went. Found out from a third party that he had another job booked for the afternoon and decided my job would take too long so he just left!

Mike was just great, chilled, professional, helpful. Our elevator had broken on the day of the move and he totally felt for us and how late and stressful the move was — came back and helped us with the leftover bits between jobs the next day for nothing. Couldn’t have been better for us really and was way way cheaper than other quotes we got.

An Ode to Mike the Mover: O – Mike Mike Mike. I do not know your last name, Mike, but I have been calling your cell for the past two years. You do not fail me. Ever. You have moved a boxspring for me from Flatbush to Harlem, a settee from Darkest Bushwick to upper Manhattan, my beautiful battered 1930s dresser from a co-op up near Pelham Parkway to my Manhattan home, a friend’s futon from Harlem to god-knows-where, and today, a another friend’s sofa on a shorter, intra-island journey. You always come on time. You always call back. You are always friendly. Sometimes, you tell comical stories of an East Village life that I can only access through a Rick Moody novella, old Sonic Youth songs, and various ghoststories told in passing and over drinks. Sometimes, you laugh at how I think I’m going to help you carry something heavy up the stairs while wearing pretty little shoes(which I then go and exchange for motorcycle boots). You only charge $ 30/hour. You are a kind, dear man, and on behalf of my friends and I, I wish to publicly give you thanks. THANKYOUMIKE!!! (Mike rules. Call him.)
