BYFAR the BEST burger in NYC! U want to go to fancy steak joints and over pay for«OK» burgers, go ahead. You want an old school Eddie Murphy«house burger» you come here. The meat is outrageous. Just really doesn’t get any better. The bartender is old school with tons of knowledge of not just that bar but all the old school bars in the city. Ive just recently brought my Mom here and my 13 month old boys are next. Im sure they will love the garlic mashed!

Great burger and old school Gramercy vibe. This place is truly a neighborhood gem. I reccomend it for any occasion. Also, Molly’s is a great bar to watch sports as they have multiple big screen TV’s.

Was leery of the sawdust on the floor but this quaint place with a super cool Irish bartender was amazing. The Shepard pie was the best I’ve ever eaten. My friend had the Reuben and I snagged a bite. It melted in my mouth. My other friend had a huge burger that he was raving about. The bartender was charming and was the best all around food I’ve had in awhile. I will definitely be back

Do NOT get the burger. Just don’t. We came here because this place showed up on a «best burgers in NYC» list. I’m not quite sure why it was on this list, but it was. The fries were soggy, the bun toasted to the point of crumbling, the bacon dry and as though it was made that morning, and the patty itself more well done than my grandmas meatloaf. Oh, and the orange block of partially melted something trying to cover up this whole mess? Was that cheese? All of this for $ 14+ each? Not ok. Seeing other reviews that rave about the burger, I’ve got to wonder if we caught their kitchen staff on a very, very off night. It’s possible. However we will not be back to find out.

One of my traditions when visiting NYC. This place has the most friendly bartenders, relaxed atmosphere and a warm fireplace when there are snow flurries outside. Their cheeseburger is the absolute best!

Established in 1960, therefore, naturally the most traditional Irish bar in New York. I was very excited to see all the history and old structure at this place! As we stepped inside, it was darker than expected, I could not see or appreciate the old structure or the interior much. I could see that there was a large bar to the right, and booth seating to the left. They had lots of sawdust on the floor, and I heard there is a fireplace here, but I didn’t spot one in the dark. We ordered Shepard’s Pie and Irish Lamb Stew. They were both filling and delicious, even though a bit on pricey side. The stew surprisingly delicious, much more than expected. It is always great when you go in with a low or no expectation, then receiving something very delicious. Maybe we had too high of an expectation for the Shepard’s Pie… It was really good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. The service was nice and friendly. I wish if the space was better lit, with normal light colors, instead of that strange red colored light. I heard they have pretty good burgers here, maybe I will come back to try some burgers next time, during lunch or brunch hours so that I can really appreciate the historical building more from the inside. Molly’s is hands down my favorite burger in the area. The servers tell it like it is: «a thick, ten ounce burger… this ain’t no McDonald’s hamburger patty!» My burgers have been cooked exactly to the temperature I specified each time I’ve come here, which is more than I can say for other burger places I frequent. I think the price is extremely reasonable, given that I can never seem to finish the entire plate. The side salad and fries aren’t as notable though. This place is empty come weekday lunches(got my burger 10 minutes after entering the establishment), but I’ve tried a few weekend dinners and the wait can be up to an hour since they don’t take reservations.(Once you sit, you’re basically closer to strangers than your own date!) All employees I’ve interacted with are super nice, but they might be hard to come by when it gets busy. I personally don’t like the sawdust all over the floor, as it gets stuck to my shoes… The burger is definitely worth it though!

Despite the fact that I watched the Packers blow their Superbowl chances this year at this restaurant, I still am a fan! The location is great, and the interior is fun and quite cozy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful(and put up with a few of the guys in our party who got a little messy). We came in for food before we stayed for a few more drinks. I shared the Reuben with my sister, and OMG. Seriously. It was amazing. Best Reuben I’ve ever had. The meat was so good, thickest slices I’ve ever seen. I would HIGHLY recommend it. My husband had a sausage plate that he said was equally amazing. If you’re looking for a fun bar to have a drink, or for some good Irish food, take a stroll into Molly’s.

We came to Molly’s specifically for the irish breakfast as I had been missing it ever since I vacationed there back in November. The breakfast comes with 2 sausages, 2 eggs, black and white pudding, home fries, rashers, 2 slices of tomato and baked beans(for an extra $ 2). Overall, portions were huge and it was delicious, especially the black pudding, possibly better than the ones I’ve had in Ireland. Kinda wished they served hash browns like they do in Ireland instead of home fries.

Why bother waiting in line for Rolf’s when you can eat and drink to your hearts desire at Molly’s in half the time?! My family and I have been going there every Christmas and have enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations, the generous waitstaff, and the delicious food! We came in during rush around 4 and one waitress made sure we were served timely and always made sure we were alright, even though she was the only waitress in the floor! The wood dust on the floor, low ceilings, and dim lighting make this establishment the perfect place to get together with family and friends for drinks, a full meal, or something in between.

I had been here before for a drink, but I came last night to try out their burger. I am constantly on the hunt for the best burgers in the city and need a place near home, so my boyfriend and I made the trip in this freezing December weather… The place is all decorated for Christmas and feels very cozy with a LOT of lights put up on the ceiling. It was crowded, but we got a beer while waiting for a table. They have a small selection, but have a few Irish beers on tap. The staff were all very friendly. 5 stars for beer, ambiance, and service. I would give the burger 4 stars(still very very good). It was huge! The beef was good quality and had an ample amount of delicious cheddar cheese on top and came with the works on the side. The beef had good flavor but was overcooked(both of us asked for medium and got well done) so it was a little dry. The fries don’t have much seasoning, but they tasted great with salt, pepper, ketchup and mustard. It is very homey and warm. I would definitely come back for their drinks, ambiance, and food. The burger is solid, but I’m still looking for my favorite one in NYC.

Not sure if there’s anything not to like about this place. This place has become of my favorite — probably best lunch spots to visit. Love the pub-like ambiance, great bar, amazing food, and even more amazing staff members. Their service quality is remarkable. You must try the Shepherd’s Pie, its seasoned and baked to perfection. Very hearty and filling, perfect meal for a late lunch. I also love their cheeseburger, I always get it with bacon and cheddar, medium-well, the beef is full of flavor. In a month I’ll come here about 4 or 5 times, always eat-in, love the environment.

Solid Irish bar institution. Excellent Shepard’s Pie. Homemade and tasty. Lotsa gravy in there too. Best I’ve had in the city. It’s really best when it’s not overrun with weasels on a Saturday night. Just sayin’

Wonderful local bar on 3rd ave in the grammercy area. Not only do they serve a great menu of beers but the bar food coming out of this kitchen is wonderful. One of the best burgers in town. The bacon cheeseburger was large portioned with crisp bacon, juicy and flavorful. Choose the onion rings instead of the fries as the batter they use was light but also crispy that went well with the burger. Shephards pie and chicken pot pies here was also wonderful. Full of ingredients and made for a great lunch or dinner meal. Great spot to come with friends for a meal or happy hour. Sit back, order a beer, and have any of the wonderful menu items. Service was great as well. Has a bit of old time charm with sawdust on the foor that made for a great local bar ambiance.

Like a home away from home. I can’t speak for the food but the ambiance and Guinness pour are excellent. I was there on a Monday night and it was fairly slow which was fine by me. The bar is a dark wood, my chair was wobbly, and they have plenty spirits and beer to fit many needs. There was sawdust on the floor which I don’t know the history behind other than it lends itself to authenticity. The bartender was efficient and no one bothered me which was fantastic. As a lone drinker on a Monday night after a long day of class I was looking for the perfect dark spot to drink and this was it. The Guinness was the perfect temperature and had an excellent mouth feel. Most importantly it didn’t have that metallic after taste that some tap Guinness has. It will take you a moment to get your beer as they take the time to put it correctly. At some point I will mos def be back.

This place seemed very average to me. I got the vegetarian sandwich and all of the ingredients were good except the bread — the bread was too simple and didn’t have anything special about it. The place is extremely dark — almost pitch black, but there was a candle on our table which was nice. I won’t be back, but it’s not a bad place. It’s just ok.

This… is your authentic Irish pub. Sawdust on the floor, very very authentic old dark wood interior, proper Guinness pour. It is a bit of a sausage fest I noticed, especially sitting around the bar. There are cozy booths perfect for a «meet and greet» date. Solid food. This isn’t a place to bring the big crowd, as it is a bit narrow and big tables are limited. These places are becoming fewer and fewer so keep them busy and sustained.

So it probably wasn’t the best time to come to Molly’s on St. Patrick’s Day, but my friends and I decided to come here anyway because we apparently hate ourselves. The wait honestly wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be, however, and the time passed by quickly as we downed shots of Jameo, naturally. When our names were finally called, we all squeezed into a tiny booth and ordered the most Irish dish there – the Corned Beef + Cabbage. I had read so many great reviews about the corned beef, but it honestly disappointed me. I’ve definitely had much, much better elsewhere. It wasn’t too bad after I added some spicy mustard to it, but you kind want your food to be good without having to add sauces to it, amirite? The cabbage was also kind of watery, but at least the carrots were pretty on point? Although the food wasn’t the best, the bartenders and waitress were all great, so I still had a fab, drunken St. Patrick’s Day with my friends. If I were to come back, it’ll definitely be for the drinks and not the food.

I’ve been here maybe 2 or 3 times in my life and it’s always been at night for a «nightcap» or to kill time while meeting up with one of my college buddies who lives nearby — but yesterday I had lunch time hangs here with a friend of mine who(like me) also works within walking distance. Months ago this friend had suggested their burger to me as being one of the best he’s ever had and we made plans to check this place out. I finally got around to doing this yesterday. HOLYCHEESEBURGERWHOA. This thing is(kinda, sorta, to me at least) monstrous piece of juicy beef. We both asked for our burgers to be cooked medium rare and with good ol’ American cheese. My bun was toasted, the cheese was melty and my meat was cooked to beautiful, medium rare perfection. The beef patty itself could have been better seasoned, but I’m Latina — we season everything. But some adobo would have made this thing PERFECT… even garlic, old bay, something… but still, it was definitely a delicious burger and in my top 10 for sure. Burger aside, I love this place’s «old Irish pub» feel from the pretty rustic fire place, the saw dust on the floor, the old wooden fixtures and our bartender(Born in England raised in Ireland) was an absolute sweetheart. I rarely spend any time in this neighborhood, but they pour a good Guinness and their clientele isn’t composed of NYU kids… I would most certainly come back.
