Monaco Beauty Salon

AVOID! Do not buy any deal to this salon!
I went to Monaco Beauty Salon last night to redeem my Unilocal gift certificate for $ 75 worth of services. I called to make an appointment and presented my certificate as soon as I entered their establishment (before my manicure and pedicure), at which point the receptionist accepted it and said she would process it at the end of my services. However, when my services were complete she demanded that I pay the $ 75 bill because «she did not know how to process the Unilocal voucher and did not have any agreement with Unilocal». I showed her the voucher again and pointed directly to the redemption code telling her that she should use this to process my payment. She continued to harass me and demand that I stay in the salon until she figured out how to process the payment. As a FIRST TIME customer of this salon I was extremely uncomfortable by her behavior and the salon’s refusal to honor my deal. I continued to explain to her that I had paid Unilocal $ 50 for this gift certificate and should not have to pay an additional $ 75 to their salon. She would not accept this explanation and continued to tell me not to leave the salon. I finally told her that she had my Unilocal voucher and there was nothing else I should have to do and then I walked out.
In addition to this, there were 4 women in the salon during the time I went and I was the only customer there for the entire 2 hours (that tells you something!). The receptionist and other 2 women that were there took loud person phone calls, watched YouTube, and gave eachother back massages while my manicurist (Rita and the ONLY good thing about this place) did my nails. The other women all acted completely unprofessional and made me, as a customer, feel like an outsider and completely uncomfortable. I will not be returning to Monaco (sorry Rita! you’re great but you really should leave this place!) and I plan to spread the word so that no one else has to go through what I did!
