I have been going to Luda to get my highlights done for years. She is the best colorist in the city! I don’t know what I would without her. I have tried other colorists but no one can compare to Luda. She is very skilled and she always does a great job. I get compliments on my hair color all the time. Recently, I started going to Luda for haircuts as well and I could not be happier. Aside from her being an amazing hairdresser, she is also a great person — always smiling and caring about the end result.

I have been going to Marina for several years now. I trust her completely with my hair… I’ve never received as much attention to detail on cuts and color (highlights) than with Marina. She is highly skilled and works with you on exactly what you want. Sometimes I don’t know what I want and Marina is a great guide in that department as well. I ALWAYS walk out of there feeling AMAZING!
When Marina was away one time I had Melissa do my hair and she was awesome as well! Now I know there are 2 women at the same salon that I can trust, that is key.

This place is 2 blocks from where I work, and Unilocal was posting a deal.
Marina cut my hair. She was super friendly and sweet. My hair is fine, dry and limp, and while I’ve had layering cuts in the past, I want to grow it out. She gave me great low-​maintenance styling tips and a perfect cut. Lisa, who washed my hair, also applied a scalp-​treatment product so I got a wonderful 10-​minute scalp massage to boot.
Today, I’m back for a pedicure. Elena is as loving and masterful with my feetsies as an Italian grandma is with her bolognese.
Very happy.

After two unhappy results from two other salons and stylists, I walked into M Salon, had a consultation with Natella, and made an appointment for the following week. She gave me a fantastic cut and beautiful highlights. I am so happy to have found her and will definitely be going back!

I wanted to try a new style and decided to give M Salon a try. They took me as a walk-​in and worked off of a picture with the new style I wanted. My stylist did a great job and was very careful with how thick she cut my bangs. She gave me her opinion of how they should be so subtly that I felt like she wasn’t telling me what do but merely offering a suggestion. When I came back for my free bang trim she asked if I wanted my bangs a little thicker and I said yes. She cut them thicker and shorter for free. I had a great experience at this salon and would definitely recommend it!

M Salon offers really great haircuts and coloring services. The value is fantastic. It’s a warm and friendly spot and highly professional at the same time. Avi cuts and colors my hair, and I always receive compliments on it. I moved to NJ four years ago, and I still return to M salon because I know I can trust them.

Went there to have my hair relaxed. The product they used wasn’t good at all. I have never heard of a relaxeing product where you apply it to a wet hair. The end result was horrible. The texture of my hair is awful. I even told the lady that I wasn’t happy with the end result. She told me to come back if I want have it fixed or redone and honestly I’m afraid to go back. One nice thing about the salon that they have a Pretty friendly staff

M Salon is great!
Clean/​friendly staff/​well priced. I have been here twice — first time to get my hair cut and second to get my hair highlighted (half head). Before I went to M Salon I was nervous since I have been trying to search for a good salon on the UWS. I’m happy I ended up coming here! Marina did such a great job on my hair cut /​highlights — I have been receiving compliments all week! (I have shorter/​fine hair and like to keep my highlights more natural looking)
I can tell Marina and the rest of the staff have had a lot of experience with all types of hair, so I would recommend this salon!

I’ve visited countless other salons throughout the city for YEARS but had no luck finding a decent salon with reasonable prices. It appeared I was searching for a unicorn: a stylist who can properly can cut my long hair with the layers and angles I so longed for. That is until I found M Salon (thanks to Unilocal). My stylist was Natella and she was simply amazing! She knew exactly what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. She’s super nice but more importantly, attentive and talented. I will definitely be going to Natella for all my hair cuts going forward.

My visit to M Salon was terrific. Another salon had messed up my blonde color and highlights. I got an appointment for the next day, Melissa cut my hair beautifully and fixed my hi lites and low lites. She took her time, listened, skillfully choose the right colors. She was fabulous. The shop is low key, a pleasant break from the craziness of high end pricey salons I went to. Elena does a fabulous wash and head and face massage. A pleasure to go to and I have recommended them already!

Both my mom and I have had our haircut here by Natella for many years. She listens to what you want. She has a good eye for what actually will look good on your face with your hair. She is warm and kind. She even did my hair for my wedding. She is truly excellent!

The best colorist in NYC — Luda. She is amazing! Have tried so many before I went to her. They all tried but never got my color quite right. Literally, the first time I went to her it was perfect and has been ever since. I receive compliments from other stylists and friends and family all the time about how great the color is. Friendly salon on the upper west side and reasonably priced.

I’ve been going to Avi at M Salon for about 10 years, and he’s the best! I get color, cut and blow-​dry, and I’m always very satisfied. Everyone at the salon is friendly, professional and accommodating. I HIGHLY recommend Avi, as well as the other stylists. This is a première NYC salon.

I have been using M Salon for more than 10 years, and I would not go anywhere else. Avi is absolutely terrific with hair color and cuts. He consistently creates exactly the style I’m looking for. Plus, he is the sweetest guy, as are the other stylists, including Natella, and the hair washing girl Olga is super nice and adorable. A great neighborhood salon year after year. If you are new to the UWS, you need look no further.

I don’t get my hair cut here, but I go here for waxing. Elena is the best aesthetitcian in town. She is an artist with eyebrows, and is very attentive to details. I go to her for my waxing. LOVE HER!

I have been coming to M Salon for over 15 years. My hair was in an awful state before I met Marina. After one visit, I knew that I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else. My hair is well looked after here, the color is always beautiful and my hair which had been previously very dry and brittle is healthy and manageable. I also feel that she listens to my concerns and is very knowledgeable when it comes to changing styles or color variations. She is really the best. I also really love Elena. She does a FANTASTIC pedicure and manicure. When I don’t want to wear mascara, Elena will dye my eyelashes. This is so convenient for vacations. (They don’t offer eyelash extensions here and never have FYI, but I think the dye is better!). The other thing I like about m salon aside from the wonderful staff here is that they work really well together.

I have never written a review. But I decided to write one because I have been mentally thanking my hairdresser every day since I got my hair done. I came to her with a dirty-​dark brown pharmacy hair-​dye mishap and never expected that I could become a convincingly natural looking blond after just one visit. Luda did an amazing job — she worked fast, but was very tedious — she wrapped very thin slices of my hair in foil, covering my whole head, resulting in a very natural, shimmering look. Luda is not one of those hairdressers who praise the work they did as a masterpiece and then when you leave, after just one wash & style at home, you end up looking like an alley cat after a bath. On the contrary, I couldn’t believe what a great job she did the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that… and now it’s been a month, and I decided it’s time to write a review. Bravo! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Avi is a miracle worker! I got a horrible haircut from Scott J down the street, and I didn’t think that my hair could be rescued. I walked into M Salon completely distraught, and walked out 45 minutes later feeling like I had the best haircut of my life. Have you ever had your mind blown seeing the artists on Tattoo Nightmares cover up the most heinous tattoos? That is what Avi did to my hair. He is fantastic with bangs, working with your hair type and face shape to deliver gorgeous results. He took his time and paid close attention to detail. I will definitely go back.

Avi gives the best hair cut I have ever had in my life! Elena revealed the eyebrows I always wanted! I have been going to this salon for two years now and would never go anywhere else. The entire staff is knowledgable and so kind-it’s a refreshing change from the treatment I’ve received in other salons. Book early because Avi fills up fast! He is the best because unlike so many stylists he actually listens! If I ask for only an inch cut I don’t turn around to four inches scattered on the floor and he really knew how to take my hair to the next level. I feel cool and beautiful every time I leave there.

Avi at M Salon has been cutting my hair since 2000 and I’ve always gotten an amazing haircut. My wife — who has more complicated hair than I do — loves Avi too. Everyone in the Salon is super friendly.
Update: it’s now 2014. Avi still rocks. My wife sees him as do both of my daughters. We are all huge fans.
Can’t recommend this spot highly enough.
