I went in one night with a couple of coworkers… the place itself was spacious, but narrow… which creates awkward communication if youre with a big group. Our group broke up in small groups because of this. It was pretty much dead in there, not too many people. Ourbartender was very rude and seemed to have a n attitude… which didnt create such a welcoming/fun vibe for our gorup. You would think a bartender wouldbe happy with our group(people with money to pay her) on an empty night… i probably wont be a frequent visitor… but im curious to see how girlnation is on saturday nights. xoxo

Cool Bar. The staff is friendly and the music is cool. They have great seating upstairs with waitress service. The food is typical bar food, but the sliders are pretty yummy. This is a cool grab a quick drink after work place.

I never go here anymore. fewer and fewer people go, not nearly as much fun as it used to be. not really worth the trip up to midtown-if it’s a slow night there’s not much else in the neighborhood to fall back on. plus it’s a bridge and tunnel crowd, if you get pick up by a handsome stranger«their place» is back in Jersey. enjoy that long walk of shame.

I stopped here at lunchtime for a beer and a turkey burger. The burger was delicious, and our waitress was really sweet. I highly recommend having a beer at lunch. It makes the whole day better.

It’s an ok place to come by for drinks after work(get there early enough to grab a seating area). Came here a few times with coworkers. There’s extra seating lounge area upstairs in the back. The bar food is pretty average. My only gripe about this place is the wait staff. Like I mentioned before, been here a few times already and had seen their happy hour special sign stating it’s from 4pm — 6pm. Our waitress was very adamant that the bar always held happy hour from 5pm — 7pm. I would have been ok if she told us that they had recently changed their happy hour policy, but she was a bit pushy and obnoxious… insisted we were quite mistaken. Their communication when Happy Hour start contradicts their website as well: NATIONHAPPYHOUR Monday through Friday 4pm — 6pm It’s not a posh bar, so figure service won’t be great either.

For GirlNation, this place sucks. The drinks are WAY expensive, and its way too crowded. The inside has three floors, all extremely narrow and the thrid floor is strictly coat check. You can’t move at all and it takes 20 minutes to get a drink that costs a fortune. the drinks are made to taste good, but not strong. There is a lot of different women there, but all the wrong type. It’s located in midtown where there are obnoxious tourists and they play the most overplayed music ever. If you’re looking for a good night out with the ladies who like ladies, this would not be it.

Man, does this place get crowded! And I can’t say I exactly know why… Besides really nice bartenders, the drink specials and atmosphere aren’t really, well, anything. The happy hour was also shorter than advertised, so be careful if you’re on a budget(not break the bank, just not at a discount). Thankfully my man and I got there right after work and got seats at the bar, because an hour later the place was so crowded I was getting the occasional elbow to the back. The bathrooms and decent for such a busy bar, and I know it’s a tough place to find much better, but the place was just A-OK at best.

I just went here a few weeks ago with a couple of my girls on a Saturday night to check out GirlNation. Needless to say I left after 1 drink. The room is mad narrow and is very cramped. You basically have to grab your drink and stick to one area. The crowd was mixed, but not in a very good way. Everyone seemed either hella young, or mad old. Dont think I’ll be back.

GirlNation is not my cup of p*ssy. It’s really cramped and gross. They charge an exorbitant cover. The drinks aren’t fantastic. It totally has the«Bitch, I’m too cool for you — can’t you tell by my popped collar and cargo shorts?» vibe. No thanks. However, the bouncer is actually nice. A couple of years ago, during pride, my best friend lost her ID at Henrietta’s, but didn’t realize this until we got to the door at Nation. The bouncer was actually sympathetic and let her in, because she still had her wristband on from the previous lesbo joint.

I’ve only been here on Saturdays for«GirlNation» This place isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. I sometimes end up coming here because its in a really easy location to get to(Midtown) and the cover isn’t too bad, 5 or 10 i think. There is some dancing, the music isn’t great, and a decent bar but there is nothing WOW about it. Drinks are small and watered down. The crowd of people is okay, but not as good as Cattyshack. Why do i go? Convenience and the lack of lesbian places to go.

A hot bartender gave my friend a free drink for her birthday and then got on the bar to shake her booty and give out free shots. The DJ gave a shout out to our group. It was Saturday night, so there was all sorts of gay debauchery going on. Now, the music could use a tune-up and maybe the space is a little cramped. But where I come from we give props to women’s spaces. You know, to be supportive. It’s all the hippie water we drink in San Francisco. I’m going to start selling hippie water to New Yorkers. Not that anyone would buy it.

I’ve never had the food here, but I’ve come a bunch of times since they always show games in which my alma mater is playing. Therefore, I only really know it from«game watch» experiences, which tend to be packed with guys hoisting beers and yelling across the bar to their friends. It was perfectly serviceable for that type of event, even though the layout isn’t so conducive to a crowd of people.

I went with a friend for work for a «stress relief» lunch. Wanted to go to a place not frequented by people in the office. Wanted something light. I’d never eaten here before and wanted to try something new. Located just off Fifth Avenue, in close proximity to Times Square and Grand Central areas so it’s easily accessible to those in midtown who want a place to go in midtown. Reservations aren’t needed for lunch. DRESSCODE No, dress code, for God sake it’s a bar! THEATMOSPHERE Unassuming location, you walk in and there is along narrow bar to the right and about eight bar height tables to the left. The bar is dark with high ceilings, but kind of cool in a old school kind of way. I would not bring kids here since it is a bar. The dining area is tight and narrow so this isn’t good for a group either. THEMENU Consist of HEALTHYSIZED portions of American comfort food THEMEAL I ordered the cheese steak with onions and my boy had the chips and fish. My cheese steak was a sold 4 out of 5. The steak was tender and tasty with just the right amount of seasoning and onions, on a soft and warm(read«fluffy») roll, topped of with just the right amount of gooey cheese! The steak, cheese, onions and grease rivaled any cheese steak I’ve had in Philly! To bad the fries were whack. I really wanted to be a pig and order a second sandwich to-go. My boy thought he would get 2 pieces of fish but the it came out with 5 pieces of fluffy white fish that was tender and perfectly cooked, accompanied by less than stellar fries. Two people next to us ordered burgers that smelled so good and the folks who ordered them said they were VERY good. Their table mate ordered a salad and it was HUGE and looked scrumptious. SERVICE When we arrived all but one table was taken, and that table was dirty. The waiter asked us to hold a minute so he could wipe the table down. He was polite and helpful but not very attentive as we had to ask for silverware and utensils. The food took about 10 minutes to come out once we ordered. PRICE My sandwich was $ 12 bucks but I think it was well priced for the size, taste and quality of the sandwich. OVERALL /CONCLUSION That should do it. By answering those questions or just following the guide I laid out for you, you should be able to write a detailed, well-rounded and thorough restaurant review. Good luck! It’s not fine dining and not the best, but for a bar I thought the food was a Four Stars. I gave the review 3 because of the service.

This bar is busiest after work hours and frequented by investment banker types. There are young guys and old guys here, they’re all working guys though. A good place to chill out or meet your investment banker friend at. Don’t count on meeting random people though. Some hostesses are ultra nice

I’ve been here a few times for lunch with bidness colleagues. The food is alright, and the service is fine. Neither are good enough to rave about. I could see this being an OK place for drinks until about 7pm, at which point there’s little reason to hang around this part of the city.

My boss loves to come here for some reason, it is right next door to our office, so I think that plays a big part of it. The food is okay if you need something to eat, but I would try and get something else first, and the scene is the normal after work crowd talking about work. It gets a little too loud here for me to enjoy it, but if you can score a table you can get some pretty good service. The restrooms are cramped little private rooms in the back down stairs. They are not too bad, and there is usually supplies in the rooms. Cleanliness is directly related to the time of day, for better or worse. 3 Flushes.

I had the address, but passed by the restaurant anyway, as the entryway blended in with the building. Went here for lunch at 1 p.m. w/a group. The first-floor has the main bar and some seating. Dark wood, dark chairs, Western/Native American décor; walls are sparse. Didn’t see an elevator to the 2ND floor, for the disabled folk. Smaller bar and kitchen upstairs. The waitress was easy-going and attentive. She did a good job, considering there were 13 of us. I ordered the $ 11.95 Philadelphia cheese steak sandwich, which came with Monterrey jack cheese, sauteed onions and a side of waffle fries. The sandwich and fries were good. No complaints. 3 stars for being average. I can’t say there’s anything amazing or amazingly wrong w/this restaurant. The hostess wasn’t aware that they delivered.

a.k.a LesbianNation on Saturdays and the place is bumpin. Now I am willing to try this place again, but I was not feelin it. On the night I went the DJ was no good, getting to the bar was a bitch, and it was mad crowded. I personally think the layout is poor for a club, but probably fine when it’s a normal bar/grill. It’s a multi-level, super narrow, loft-style haunt — which in my opinion lends itself to scary stalkers scoping you from above. But if you like sporty-girl eye candy, then it may be worth your while. Expect typical mid-town prices $$$.
