Pasta was undercooked(sorry aldente ravioli doesn’t mean crunchy). And you only got like 4 small raviolis. I was starving when I got home and it was not cheap! Silverware and plates were dirty as well.

I went with a group of 5 and got sat pretty quickly on an early Friday evening. Service was a bit iffy, the waitress wasn’t the friendliest and I might even say rude. They had wines starting around $ 32 to several hundred dollars but were out of a couple of the lower priced bottles. We settled on a red that was around $ 40 and not too bad. We didn’t get any appetizers but the bread with the small bowl of olive oil was quite yummy. I had the cavatelli which I enjoyed, it was a solid dish but nothing extraordinary, pretty basic but good quality. My girlfriend got the gnocchi which was rich and creamy and very tasty. Two people got the linguine seafood special which came with half a lobster and assorted seafood, they both demolished their whole plates. Another person got the chicken parmigiana which was a massive portion and looked great. Portion size of the pastas were good and I think we were all pretty full at the end. It was a good meal but nothing in particular stood out, a good choice if you’re in the area but not something I would specifically seek out.

This is a terrific place to eat whether lunch, dinner or cocktails with a bite. Our server Christian is absolutely the best(lucky to get him when we go) and we are very happy to recommend this fabulous place any day! A must if you want great service and great food without the huge price tag! Cheers to Nino’s!

Surprised to see the average rating. Been meaning to check out this place. Great open, outdoor seating in front away from the 2nd Ave crowds, great attentive service and homemade pasta as good as I remember in Italy. Plus, I love that the owner started out as a dishwasher and now has several restaurants in the city. Living the American Dream! Highly recommend the poached pear salad and Taglionni(black linguine w crab, tomatoe and chilis). A little more than other small restos($ 20 – 30 an entrée) but worth it. Will be back to try the lobster pasta special and pizza.

If you’re looking for a spacious quiet place for dinner this is it. It is a bit empty considering its huge space, but the service and attentiveness is on par. Decent size portion pasta and appetizer. Server Christian is very hard working too. Listens and is always filling our water. He got one of our orders wrong and he quickly apologized and gave it to us anyways complimentary. If you’re looking for a «scene» kinda place, this isn’t it. But it’s great for families and a quiet date night.

We had a wonderful meal at Nino’s last Saturday night. It was our first time there. We enjoyed a quiet table in the back. The food was great. The hostess and our waiter, Christian, couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. We especially appreciated the plate of biscotti and afterdinner drinks, on the house. We would definitely recommend Nino’s to our friends, and will definitely be back when we’re in the neighborhood.

Came to Nino’s over the weekend. I haven’t been in years. My family needed a place in this neighborhood and realized Ninos was perfect. Since I hadn’t been in years, I was concerned. But, we were pleasantly surprised. Not the best or the worst. Just good solid food. The $ 38/person is a good deal with many choices. If you are seeking a good family not trendy restaurant Ninos is a good choice.

Omg! I was in the city with my husband, we were starving. I was so hungry for pizza. What better place to eat pizza but to Ninos Positano. We order two Bellissimo pies. It totally hit the spot!!! I highly recommend everyone to go, I will definitely go back.

If you want to be lied to about your delivery order three times, then by all means, place your order with Nino’s. After waiting 40 minutes for my order(after they told me it would be 25 minutes), I called to check the status. They person on the other line told me «it is on it’s way.» After waiting another 10 minutes, I called back and got, «I’m sorry he just left,» even though I told them that’s what they said 10 minutes ago. After no delivery an hour later, I called to speak to the manager. He said he didnt have my order in the system and he would put it in now. Who shows up with my order the minute I hang up with him. 70 minutes later, I had my dinner delivered.

I have been coming to Nino’s Positano for years and my favorite thing is their consistency. i know it will never be anything less than perfection. The food is always incredible and the service is so attentive. If you are looking for the best pizza in NYC, this is the place. Not because it is the home of the $ 1000 pizza, but because it is wood fired thin crust, my favorite! the Margherita, Carciofi, and pasana are my 1st picks, but I’m sure they are all delicious. Fried calamari has so much flavor with the perfect amount of crunch. if you’re in the mood for Penne vodka. get it. you will not be disappointed — its one of my favorite places to order this dish. i also love the rigatoni bolognese and chicken parm. i am not a big seafood eater but my friends/boyfriend always order the lobster fra diavolo. and rave about it to all their other seafood loving friends. i could go on and on, i honestly love it all here. like i said in the beginning, every visit is just as impressive as my last. Not to mention, Nino is the best! always a pleasure seeing him.

Simply delicious Italian dining! Thanks to Mother Nature the finest Italian restaurant came to the rescue while I was stuck in the snow last night. I had the delicious home made meatballs as an appetizer and Dover sole made table side as my entrée. Both were delicious and perfectly presented. My waiter was Avelino who was so accommodating and helpful with a great sense of humor! The restaurant is divided into two sides with one side being a little more casual and the other more romantic and cozy. This makes it great for groups or date nights with a very accommodating staff. Love to love this place!

We recently had Nino’s cater the 50 person event– DELICIOUS! The Manager ANA was terrific, personable and professional. We previewed our meal and found the homemade gnocchi to die for, the various pastas and baked ziti terrific and the portions reasonable and plenty. We think this place is a find and anyone would be proud to bring a friend to this lovely looking restaurant. We also LOVE The outdoor dining in the summer. A BIGTHUMBS up.

I came for restaurant week lunch. The menu was pretty large compared to other restaurant week menus. I had the fried calamari, chicken martini and tiramisu. My friends had the cauliflower purée soup, pizza primavera, rigatoni, and chicken marsala. The fried calamari was average, something you can get at any restaurant. The chicken martini was basically a breaded chicken cutlet with a dry vemut and lemon sauce and mashed potatoes on the side. It was above average. I would order again if I ever come back. The chicken marsala was a little on the dry side. The pizza primavera was pretty good, it was big but very thin(which was how we liked it). The best part of the meal was the dessert! The tiramisu was amazingly soft and creamy.

The ideal rating for this restaurant would be 2.5 stars, but I can’t bring myself to go 3 on this one. We popped in last evening at about 8:45 on a Monday night. It seems divided into two separate restaurants, one casual one more formal. Casual half had one couple, our side had 2. We had an expired Groupon, but were able to use its value($ 59) towards our check since that is Groupon’s policy. It wasn’t a problem. We were seated at a nice table by the bar since the back dining room was closed. We had the beef carpaccio, truffle asparagus, and cauliflower soup(a special that evening). The asparagus was the best of the bunch though a bit overpriced($ 13 for about 6 stalks not much truffle). We LOVE carpaccio, but not this time. The beef was sliced much too thick… it got pretty close to lunchmeat thickness. It was also exceptionally bland, which I attribute to the quality of meat itself(gummy and too chewy). The soup was ok, a bit bland. The penne was the entrée winner. Nice portion without being overwhelming, and the vodka sauce was really good. My chicken was not good. Bone in, thinly sliced breast, it was WAY overcooked and dry. Mushrooms have been my favorite food since childhood– a main reason I ordered the dish. They were so soaked in balsamic they were nearly inedible. In fact, I did not eat many of them. Bottom line, we would not eat here again with/without a groupon, but the service and nice couples atmosphere made up a little for the disappointing food.

Wow. I can’t believe this place only has a 3 star average. Might be the best chicken parm. I’ve ever had. And I’ve had the very best. Excellent service and did not break the bank. Great ambiance also. 5 star

Many other people comment on the outstanding service, and I wholeheartedly agree. We came here on a Friday evening around 7:30pm after other dinner plans fell through. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they sat us right away and treated us like royalty the entire evening. It almost felt like a special occasion and we were the guests of honor. The ambiance was delightfully romantic. There was a lovely female singer/pianist who sang(quiet) Italian music all night and it was a wonderful addition to the already romantic atmosphere. We almost always get a caprese salad when we eat Italian and theirs was very good. For entrees, I had the gnocchi and my husband had the chicken marsala. Both were excellent. The food is slightly overpriced for what it is, but I would definitely return to the restaurant for the exceptional service, ambiance, and live music.
