I had been to many optical stores in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I can say that this is one of the best one I have been to. I had Dr. Cheung give me an eye exam for glasses and contacts. He was very thorough and answered questions in a professional manner. Unlike other optical stores I been to, he was a patient optometrist and I have never felt like he rushed the entire process. The staff was also very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this optical store to anyone who wants an OD that is thorough and has good chairside manners!

Had a great experience here! I came with my boyfriend to get him a new pair of glasses after trying a few other places with no luck. We were immediately welcomed and asked what we were looking for, and given 4 pairs to try on. We ended up going with one of those pairs in a cool dark blue color.
It was a $ 225 pair of glasses, $ 135 of which was covered by his insurance plan with an additional 20% off the remainder — so it worked out to be very reasonable! They did the eye exam right after processing the insurance. Have to wait 1 – 2 weeks to get them fitted with the lenses but that’s no problem for us. Barring anything wrong wth the order when it comes in, we’re very happy!

I did in fact like this place initially, and even had my kids and husband seen there. There were a few things that completely turned me off about this place. For one, I was quoted two different prices for a replacement lens for my son by two different individuals. Then, they wanted to charge me $ 10.00 for a replacement nose pad for my son’s glasses. I refused to pay that much for a tiny rubber piece. So, I walked into another eyeglass place on the corner of that same block and asked one of the workers how much would it cost for a nose pad. Well, he gave me one for free and even put it on. I asked him about their eyeglass policy and I was told that their eyeglasses have a full year warranty. Pacific Optometry’s coverage is only for 30 days. Wow, it’s sad that this place has now lost five customers… three children and two adults. Penny pinching doesn’t get you anywhere. If anything, it’s a huge turnoff and just pisses people off. There’s too much competition out there for companies in general to be acting this way.

I came here for an eye exam a few weeks ago. The staff was patient and very helpful. I got a pair of eyeglasses for a very reasonable price.

I just had a great experience at Pacific Optometry! The optometrist was fantastic, thorough and so nice. She really cares. The staff is exceptional. I got an exam (never felt rushed… really got to talk about my family and medical history) and new lenses for my frames in about an hour. They were so fantastic and accommodating. I can’t say enough great things! Go!

I’m 26 and I have been a satisfied customer for over 10 years now. My whole family are loyal customers here. The entire staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. Whenever we are here, we ended up having a really good conversation, aside from the main purpose of being here. The doctor (Dr. Cheung) is super friendly and treats us like close friends. He always say he’s known us for so long and has watched me grow up.
The staff is very helpful and knowledgable, they definitely know what they are doing. They help us choose eyeglass frames, from their wide varieties of designer/​non-​designer brands, according to our personal preference and would always offer advise. Neither Dr. Cheung nor the staff are intimidating. This place gives off a very comfortable and relaxing environment. The whole store is simple, yet organized and sophisticated. Prices are reaonable, plus we get discounts so that is a plus.
My family would definitely continue to be loyal customers for as long as possible.

This is definitely one of the best optical store in Manhattan. They have a wide range of high quality frames and their prices are very competitive. Customer service is definitely one of the important selling points. They are very courteous and gives their customers their full attention. Store is very clean and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Cheung is knowledgeable about his craft, patient with questions, and friendly — just an overall great optometrist.

I rescheduled and they were accommodating. I was late and they accommodated! Affordable, convenient, clean, professional and knowledgable. Didn’t feel out of place at all. Very quick! Thanks doc, great watch!

Couple of doors down from Deluxe Food Market on Elizabeth Street. Did some light grocery shopping nearby and popped in an hour earlier than my appointment time. It’s very clean and quiet inside. The staff are polite and very efficient, taking down your insurance info and quickly assessing what you’re in for. This is the type of place you can walk-​in for an appointment or get a problem fixed without hassle.
Dr. Ng is very sweet but doesn’t force patient-​bedside manners that include awkward and banal conversation. You’re in to get the eye exam done in five to ten minutes (I got the contact lens exam), pay, and walk right out! Such a refreshing experience after trying out your generic Lenscrafters, Cohen’s, and the local shops in my area (UWS).

I’ve been coming here for all my vision needs for the past 10 or so years. The doctors and rest of the staff are super, super friendly. You don’t need to make an appointment to see the doctor; you can just walk in. It takes about 15 — 30 min to see the doctor, depending on whether you need your eyes dilated. Their selection of frames and sunglasses are pretty stylish too. It is always such a pleasure to come here.

Went for an eye exam on a Saturday afternoon on the 8^th of March, 2014 to replace contact lenses. I arrived a tad early for my appointment yet they were able to accommodate me in a reasonable time. I was in and out within an hour for a contact lens fitting and checking the measurements of two eyeglasses I ordered online.
I had a good experience on my first visit and would not hesitate to recommend this place. I appreciate that the staff were courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and spoke fluent English. I had many questions and they patiently answered them all. The examination fee was also reasonable. This was a drastically better experience than all the Lenscrafters I’ve visited in recent years.
The only thing that could be considered negative (not really) is that when the waiting area was full, which only happened for a few minutes that afternoon, there were no seats to sit. But given that I only had to wait a few minutes it wasn’t a problem.

Making an appointment was easy, and the staff was polite. Sales counter girl was a little pushy, but that’s her job. And she was still very polite. My eye appointment was fast, felt like I was in and out :) I took forever to come back and pick up the glasses and contacts that I ordered, and I received zero phone calls from them hassling me. Definitely would recommend!

Extremely helpful, came into the store thirty minutes before they closed and they put new lenses into my frames for a really accessible price. Quick, friendly, professional. Definitely coming back if I have a prescription change.

I have tried many eyeglass stores in Chinatown and I’m glad I found one reliable enough that I’ve returned to in the last six years. Pacific Optometry has a great vibe, great location, trendy frames and terrific service. I have been getting my glasses from them and haven’t been disappointed. There are a variety of frames and prices to fit everyone’s needs and budget. I love that they don’t pressure you to get things added to your purchase and no pressure to purchase the most expensive frames. They work with you on what you need and listen to all your concerns.
Recently, I purchased frames that I absolutely loved when I tried on but realized after getting them prescribed, that they were too tight. Immediately when I came back to the store, the woman who helped me understood the issue and offered suggestions on ways to fix it. After readjusting the legs of the glasses and replacing the nose, my glasses are now perfect. I would definitely return to get glasses in the future and highly recommend this location. The staff is courteous, patient, attentive and very friendly.

After having had a horrible experience at Cohen’s, I had to mentally prepare for the similar experience when I needed a RX sunglasses. All I wanted was a simple and honest experience which I would not be bothered by the myriads of small prints and hidden charges. My money will not go to business where I do not feel respected or where my business is appreciated.
With vacation approaching soon, I had to find an alternative, quick. Well, I found this place through my insurance. The previous review on Unilocal was promising but there were only 2 of them. I decided to take a chance. I am glad that I did.
I am glad to report that my expectation was blown away in a very good way.

I was very happy with the way I was treated at the store. I walked out of the store with 100% satisfied and I am glad that there still is a place like this in Manhattan. Unlike my previous experience where I felt I was clearly ripped off, the experience at Pacific Optometry felt like it was worth every pennies and more.
The staff took the insurance information from me, listened to me patiently on how I wanted my sunglasses, provided their opinion when asked but not pushy. The staff went on to give their rough estimate on how much out of pocket expenditure I was looking at after insurance copay, which I was very appreciative of.
The doctor actually took time in the examination (rather than rushing through between polishing her finger nails), explained what he found in the exam. He was very calm and I appreciated his attentiveness for my eye health (and not for my money).
This is not a flashy glasses store, but I hate going to those stores anyways, so it worked out perfect for me. There are no attitudes here, only sincere professionals who are doing an great job in making every customer feel like they worth something.

I go here for my annual eye exam, contact lenses, and eyeglasses. They are open 7 days a week and it is very easy to schedule an appointment. The staff is friendly. Show up at the time of your appointment and you will be seen by the doctor immediately. They take insurance.
